yeah.. u might wanna do a search on that...
there's a few choices.. vitz.. trueno.. miata are the more popular ones..
vitz-access to many easy races.. easy money off the bat
trueno-cheapest.. good handling.. my personal favorite =D (also when you get into drifting it's a good car for that)
miata-easy car to start with also.. slap on T2 tires and run the stock roadster enduro.. wee 100k...

If your a decent driver you can pass all the time trials in arcade mode to get the panoz esperante gtr1 worth 2million or if you are a supurb driver you can gold any one of the liscenses.
If none of that is possible you can just buy the mazda mx5 (the cheapest one) as it can get into lots of races.
If you have a friend who has a bit of cash you can get him to buy a mx5 and fully do it up then save it and you can trade the car off his memory card and you only pay for the car price (16,000) or so but you get all the modifications on the car for free

I started off with the Trueno thanks to Initial D.

I made a start with the Mazda MX-5 (Miata in the USA).. after 374km it has 371bhp. I find it the best car to start with - the Vitz/Yaris, although giving access to more, it's annoyingly slow and not fun to drive. Ditto for the PT Cruiser. Trueno is ok, but cannot be tuned to such a high level. For quick cash - race the MX-5 in teh Amateur European c'ship. Get the Gillet Vertigo - great beginner's car. Race again, and sell it for big cash.
The MX-5 is a laugh, quick, does give you access to enough. Best bet - buy a Lancer Evo 7 GSR as a second car - enter it in the Evolution challenge.
Speaking of Lancers - for arcade - dont tune up your car only to find a 500bhp Lancer has to contend with JGTC and LM cars on "Hard" setting. Take a Lancer, fit super-soft tyres, suspension and everything else - BUT nothing that will increase the HP. The superior handling of your car (if you drive it correctly) will see you walk all over the arcade races.
It's a shame there were no second-hand cars. In GT2 I started everytime with an R32 GTS4 Nissan Skyline... saved so much hassle.

By winning the Amateur Mercedes Cup or whatever it's called, you win an AMG CLK Touring Car. With that, you wont have too much trouble winning the Endurance races.

This Vitz is surprisingly fast when you get use to FF cars. Cheap to tune out to max settings, and able to compete in many amatuer races, and even teh Pro FF race.
Trueno was my first pick cause I'm a RWD fan, and a Toyota fan... and seeing how I could not get an MR2 at first, I got the Trueno 👍

I'm pretty sure i took the CLK55 out for that series. The 600 is too bulky to suit my personal tastes. All three have the potential though, imo, but the SLK makes it far far more challenging as its maximum tuning potential looks a bit tame in comparison to the other two.

I used the SLK, and I tuned it out for handling... 2 levels of weight reduction.. ful suspension, brakes, full drivetrain upgrades, race intake, port/polish, chip, stage 2 turbo, stage 1 intercooler...
I won with ease... on T2 tires... but that is a decent amount of tuning...

hrm, i might have to redo that series with it then, and take the time to set it up
i remember having a dog of a time with the slk. I lost too much track position down the straights and couldnt make it all up under braking and cornering.
-of course, i dont typically spend a lot of time tuning the cars that i only use to complete a couple of 3 race series

I also started with Trueno my fisrst time. It was great. And either of them (mx5 or tureno) are great choice. Especially because you win them in forst few races and you can sell them right away and use the money for other investments. But seriously the best would be to get any gold license or to complete time attact mode. That would give you a starter car allready.
There is also some tricks - if you have GTC at 100% you can get 10mio Cr for your GT3 game (I did that second time arround, but never used that money, since I also started with complete time attack and all gold licenses.

I started with the Trueno and eventually bought the Z28. Good bang for the buck power, and can be ran in many races along the way 👍

A good way to save money if you don't think you can get all golds in the B license is to get one of the cars that can participate in the lightweight challenge. You'll win a Sprinter Trueno and a Miata in the first two events and a Mini from the lightweight, and you can race in the FF challenge for a Vitz to take to the Vitz event. Your Miata can go to Spider and Roadster, and your Trueno can go to 80s sports cup to get you an RX-7, which can go to the FR challenge... etc. Playing this way gets you a lot of experience in a lot of different cars, and gives you a good variety to keep you from getting bored. If you're good in the Vitz, you'll win a cool 35,000 cr. from the whole series, which I usually invest in a TT for the Beginner TT event. That gets you another 35,000 cr. to invest in mods for it, which you can then take to the TT event in Amateur league for 90,000 cr. At that point you have enough cash to go in any of several directions, and you have a lot of races out of the way.

I started with a Mazda Mx-5 Miata, (if my memory is not wrong) with a racing chip and a sports muffler, then i won the 2 first cups of the beguinner league, after that i put a turbo stage 1 and then i won a few more times the 2 first cups and bought a Honda S-2000, after that every thing was piece of cake. 👍

I started out with the toyota sprinter... and than i saved up for the nissan skyline GTR R33... it worked out very good for me...

I started out with the Miata but the MR-S kept beating me in the Clubman cup at Deep Forest it just got a better run out of the turns. Then saved up for a Mustang Cobra R and then the Viper GTS.
