BTW I propose to evict this person from the club (no offence personally intended, but his car is no where near crap enough).

Norman Vauxhall
A little junk from italy!

Pros.
I'ts a full optional! power steering, 4 power windows, Alloy wheel, A/C, ABS, Parking radar (in a 1994 car)
Rear Integrale Spoiler (mounted after the buy)

Cons.
Front wheel drive.
Low power (105 bhp for a 1.8 litre)
Heavy ...
No fuel saving!! 1 liter for 9.5 km!!!! (21.7miles per gallon) here 1 gallon cost 5.8 US$
Body not in perfect condition (since i have buy it!)
Not beautiful shape
Not relaible ... but for now i was lucky
Boring body colour
Ugly interior colour ... really!! ... i post a photo tomorrow!!
Small size wheel
The alarm system start always ... every day ... without any explanation.
Understeer is quite near on every angle ...
During very cold morning the power lock doesen't work .. so i have to warm up the key with some fire!
Cassette reader is crappy ...
It's a Fiat with a "luxury" Lancia dress on it

The brake make noise ... in the car u have to close the ears ... they are louder than hell!
The check CPU turn on the "Broken brake light" without any explanation!

Now the brakes making noise and alarm starting on its own sound like good criteria, but the rest doesn't seem bad at all. You have a/c that works?! and omg a parking radar? 105bhp isn't bad for a 1.8... My 1.3 gives out 73bhp, seems about standard. The body colour may be boring, but it looks like metalic to me. AND it looks like there isn't any rust on it?!

As for it being a fiat with a lancia dress on it... Didn't most ferrari parts used to be made in fiat factories? :dunce:

I think to qualify for membership your car either has to have a piece of stationary (blue tac, selotape, paperclips etc) holding together part of it, or have something so wrong with it mechanically that if you were a prospective buyer you'd say, "omg that guy CAN'T be serious" everyone agree? :D

What happened to your 200SX? That car was teh ownz.

I own a polo with the coating peeling off the muffler. It sounds horrible at 70/80mph. But apart from that and the crack in the front windscreen (at the bottom non visable part, i've been meaning to get it sorted out for ages) and the wheels being a little rusty it's fine.

thats what happened to it :P

it was just too fast, too dangerous. and also it had rust on the underbody, the a/c stopped working and the brakes were leaking. So i sold it before it required a service. a very very very good car though. but i think i prefer na to turbo :P

Oh well, nice to see that you got rid of the car and realised that it was a bad influence on you. I know i'd be like that as well if I had a decent fast car under me. I don't think I could be trusted with a car with more than 200bhp at the moment. This is why I want something fun, but not something fast.

[*]I have taken this car to 110mph (i will have the utmost respect for anyone who does it again)

Astra vans are widely known to be the fastest vehicles on British motorways :dopey:

I presume the Astra Estate is closely related to the van - therefore it has a great pedigree for these kinds of motorway speeds.

I've seen your pictures - she's a beauty!

haha thanks dood.

my family bought it when it was just over 2 years old... for £4000 if i remember correctly. we loaded it up and took it all the way to the east german border a couple of times. and believe it or not, fully laden with the boot packed and 4 passengers, 2 adults (and 2 kids since i was a kid then) i remember my dad nudging 120mph in it... the germans sure know how to build cars...

although... now that i think about it, it says "made in england" on the only panel in the car that has no rust on it ;) (must be made of aluminium) :D

Not in my area of the US...
I was beginning to wonder.

The reason I ask is I have been watching Pimp My Ride alot (my kind of comedy) and there have been so many cars on there that would be pulled over by the police in a blink of an eye over here.

In Greece there is some kind of annual inspection...but however, no matter what you've done to your car, if you bribe the inspection mechanic a fee of 100 euros you have no problem!!!! Corruption has its cons and pros....
The ECU was initially changed due to the original ECU malfunction. What i want to mention is that i transformed a tottaly crap car into a devil...you'd better see what happens when i race with punto gt's or other non moded "fast" cars....but still i dont trust that car, its like the IRA or the ETA with weels :)

You mean to tell me you don't have vehicle inspections?

Just the one they do at the end of the assembly line. My states cool enought not to inspect cars...

I know I got pulled over alot driving my truck in Texas and California, where they do have inspections. Texas didn't like my fog lights and the noise but everything else was cool. Cali didn't like my lift, tires, bumper height, bumpers, lights(all of them), noise, intake setup, exhast setup(exspecially the flame throwers), steering setup, step bars, and a long list of other stuff...

So once again I am glad I live in Iowa where as long as its got a title, you can drive it!!!

I would love to be part of the crappy car club.........but I can't...........I don't think a 2004 Vauxhall Corsa SXi is worthy enough :guilty:

💡 ..............Invent a Mediocre car club!

...crappy car club [...] I don't think a [...] Vauxhall [...] is worthy enough

Yes, it is. They ALL are.

So Vauxhall is just another crappy GM off brand then?

I wouldn't necessarily call them all crappy. Vauxhall sells a wide variety of models. Models that are similar to Pontiacs/Chevrolets and models similar to GEOs/Daewoos.

They Vauxhall Monaro VX-R is far from being a crappy car. :)

gloup
ok, here's mine crap....its a Rover 214si 1991 built....180000kms
Pros:
Really funny engine...93hp out from 1400cc's
Luxurius interior, regarding the cost of the car
Electric sunroof standar and still working!
good mpg

Cons:
It rattles like snake at the trunk
Changed engince, since the first one cracked on the body and the head
Changed gearbox 3 times!!! (i'm not a lousy driver though, my Alfa goes perfect)
The trunk opens by itself if the car bumps on the road
Changed ECU
I finally put in a moded '94 Honda VTi 1600cc 180Hp engine and now it spreads terror on the road...and myself too!
When i steer, i see Jesus calling me!
Oh, I almost forgot. The vote was 0-5-0 . You're not in our prestigious club.

Thank you for that explanation. I just knew nothing about Vauxhall other then they were a car company that I have not seen in the U.S.

Then again, since it's a HOLDEN Monaro - which has no involvement from Luton whatsoever - with a Vauxhall badge put on it...

The only "good" cars Vauxhall make are made by someone else. The Monaro and the VX220, which is made by Lotus.

At least they do have those cars in their lineup...
At least they do make their own cars(even if they may not be of the best quality) unlike GEO which did nothing but rebadge Suzukis(not even "good" Suzukis...)

our vauxhall carlton did about 350,000 miles before the engine was pretty wasted. but it would still start and stuff. for a 2.0 petrol engine, i'd say that wasn't too bad. so no more dissing of vauxhall please. there are plenty worse cars out there, lets see hmmm seat, renault, peugeot, citroen etc

Can I be in?

1994 Diahatsu Charade

Pros
- It usually starts first (or third) go
- Reasonable fuel economy
- Easy to park because of size
- At least its manual

Cons
- The engine is less than a litre
- It only has THREE Cylinders
- Still uses a carburettor despite being from 1994
- Because of carburettor requires the use of a choke to start
- Drivers side window winder broken off,you have to put it back on every time you want to wind down the window.
- There is hail damage on the roof
- The suspension is all soft and floppy
- I think I'm getting a hole in the exhaust
- No A/C (It gets HOT here)
- The $5 wheel covers (that $5 a set, not each)
- It has a very trendy weather sheild on the drivers side window
- The space saver spare looks like a pushbike wheel
- Feels like it won't stop in time with more than two people in the car

My 1986 Chevy Corol- I mean Nova

Pros:

--Starts when needed
--odd/cool exhaust note
--Has all gauges working
--Cold A/C-- Boiling Heat
--Toyota Reliability
--5-speed Manual
--Full history
--It was free! :)

Cons:

--Has well over 168,000 miles
--Vinyl Headliner shot
--Smokes horridly
--Half exhaust ends behind rear axle (very loud)
--Fenders flap like the wings of a hopeful penguin at speeds above 55 mph (fixed soon;) )
--Fenders soon to be see-thru
--All of 110 hp and BONUS: Fwd
--Seats have lost all of what little support first offered.
--Rear seat for legless riders only.
--Passenger side window off track

I'm not part of the decision-making panel but cpl_richie is in for sure. If he isn't I boycott everything. It doesn't get any worse than a Charade (except perhaps a Rocky, Daihatsu's even lesser-known SUV offering in the United States).

You mean to tell me you don't have vehicle inspections?

In fact, most states don't. Some states are notoriously tough - you won't get anything past the North Carolina DMV, for instance. Some states have an emissions program only, which cracks down on polluting vehicles in populated areas - Arizona and Colorado do this. Yet most states have neither program in place and couldn't care less if you pollute like a cruise ship and have no seat belts.

I can name three cars in the last decade each from all four manufacturers I'd rather own than ANY Vauxhall-produced Vauxhall.
