NA Version - Car Information Missing

Anyone noticed that on some cars, some of their info are missing ? For example, for the MazdaSpeed 6 , the HP, Torque, Price, and Drivetrain information are missing on the detail page when you open it up in the Garage mode. So if you try to sell this car, the CR value would be "---" . Also, since the drivetrain info is missing, you cannot use this car to take part in their Drivetrain specific races.

Similar problem on the NSX-R Concept.

By the way, as a question aside, what happened to the detail description of each car ? I remember reading here there will be detail info per car and even narration on the description.

Obviously they didn't have time to translate that info. :(

And the missing info is a bit annoying. I think we take what we can get in the US... Imagine the s***storm if they'd worked on this stuff for another month?

THIS is why GT4 should have used the hard drive (And Sony should have put the hard drive in every PS2). So this kind of info, new cars, garages, Online, bugfixes, etc. could be downloaded. That COULD lead to quality control problems where games are rushed out "we can fix it later" syndrome, but so far on XBox, I'm not seeing that.

i think they left it out on purpose, as almost all cars missing the info are concept cars and arent anywhere near going on the market.

Its not a problem or an oversite. Most of if not all concept cars are like that along with LM or dream cars. They are that way for a reason. Its not like the game never tells you. ITs been like this since GT2.

What about selling the cars ? in gt3 at least they gave you a cost of how much it was to sell, now I when to sell the mazda 6 concept, and they said ( accept yes or no ) 0 dollars ?...I said now, I wasn't going to give it away....can anyone shed light on that ?

Some cars in the game have no value, so if you sell them you don't get squat. The NSX-r is one of those....along with the nike car.

There is no cost because the car is not for sell. Concept cars have no value since they have not been sold. If they were to put a price, the only thing they could base it on is R+D which would put it in the millions of dollars.

When you look at classics in the car makers portion, alot of them don't have values either. BUT, the difference is most have been actually made and used IRL. These cars will show no value there, but will once purchased through 'used cars'

if the resale value is zero, then you get no money from saling it... simple as that....
the mazda6 is a concept car in gt4.... u dun get any money for selling most of the concepts (not sure if it's all..)...

they prob leave out some of the other info on purpose too.... they'r definitely not translation problem....

Several cars have no information available in the dealerships. However, all cars have a given power rating in your garage overview and a given weight in the specific car information screen in your garage.

Some cars have no drivetrain information at all, which I agree IS irksome (and no, LaBounti, it didn't occur in GT3) given that they must have modelled it as a specific drivetrain.

The complete accurate information for all cars (except the drivetrain type on cars which don't have one) is available in an Excel sheet I created and is in this forum. Check the FAQ at the top of the forum.

Every car should have some resale value attached to it, even if it is based on some projected modest production value. The Mazdaspeed 6 is the perfect example. Because it's drivetrain is tagged as FF, this car is essentially worthless to me. So, I won a completely worthless car. What kind of award is that?

Having a bunch of prize cars in your garage that you don't want, but can do nothing with other than to just toss in the trash is NOT a very good design decision as far as I'm concerned. I fully understand the cars will be desired by some folks, but they should all have some monetary value tied to them so they're all of some value to everyone, even if that monetary value isn't truly representative of the vehicles actual worth (which in most cases isn't even true for ALL the cars, what vehicles are suddenly only worth a quarter their sticker price after logging only a few miles on the odometer?) Point is, this is a game, the rewards should actually be rewards, in all cases, for all gamers. Having a resale value is the only way to assure that's the case.

That might not be Poly's call rather it could probably be the car manufacturer's call. Cars like the Mazdaspeed 6 wasn't in the public sight until half a year ago and the game started development before that time frame.

It's probably the manufacturer's holding back some information at the time and they had an agreement on what can be published, what can't, and the pricing as well.

Just my 0.02

I think those guys are talking about resale value is zero.

I know......they have no resale value because they do not have a value in the first place. Only cars that have actually been used in real life (racecars included) have a value......

The concepts were never sold or publicly used, therfore they have no value or resale value

well I guess it is not so much about whether the concepts should have a $ value but that some information about those concept cars are there but cannot be displayed properly. Take the Mazdaspeed 6 as an example, clearly the information about the weight, HP are there in the game in some level but they are not showing in the full expanded view. Quite annoying.

I miss the car info we had in GT2. It's a shame that's all gone. Wasn't there a testing mode in the Japanese version that had a voice over a view of the car driving?

Ah well, no big deal.

I think PD did this on purpose so that you can't win the really easy races that grant you insane cars, and sell them back out for insane amounts.

They couldn't catch all of em, so that's why we resort to the RSC Rally Car Special Condition as one of the only loopholes to this theory.
