Hmmm... how about the C1 'Vette? What about one of those Alpine cars? Or the Honda Life Step Van? ( )

Anyway, I'm pretty much blitzing on my 300ZX report. I only have 6 pics to edit and a report to write. I'll try to get it done and posted today. đź‘Ť

A man on fire report wise, great work Duck.

...and one of the Alpines, now that does appeal to me. Thanks for the suggestions.

BESTuners Nissan 300ZX 2seater ‘89 Report

Driver: .Duck.

Deep Forest Laptime: 1Â’09.174

NOTE: Review tested with S2s, laptime tested with R4s.

Exterior:
Whenever I see a 300ZX on the street, I feel like I could puke. TheyÂ’re just ugly. The headlights look like they were pasted on by a 5-year-old kid using Photoshop. The rear is just as bad. The whole backside resembles a rolled-up wrinkled short. It just isnÂ’t really pleasant to look at. But then again, I really canÂ’t think of any Â’80s cars that actually looked really good. Anyway, letÂ’s just hope that it performs well. Or else itÂ’ll be a total waste of money.

The GoodÂ…:
With almost 800 hp, and with a truckload of torque at low revs supplied by the Stage 5 turbo, this car is no slouch. It has plenty of get-up-and-go, so much that you have to use half throttle on the first three gears so you wonÂ’t fall victim to wheelspin. Getting to its top speed, which is exactly 190 MPH, isnÂ’t hard. Far from hard. 250 MPH probably isnÂ’t a real stretch for this bugger.

The handling is pretty good. ThereÂ’s a bit of understeer when youÂ’re turning it at higher speeds, say 90 MPH, but thatÂ’s it. It sticks to the road like glue with racing tires on. đź‘Ť

Around the track, it’s really fast. It’d be an awesome contender for the “Sleeper Car of the Year” award. It can make mince meat of my Saleen S7 (and my S7 is fully modded and has one of my own set-ups on it, mind you). So when you get to play with your buddies, for a sprint lap, choose this. Imagine the look on your opponent’s face when you slay his brand name supercar.

Â…And the bad:
The wheelspin. If youÂ’re new to throttle control with a wheel, then indulge in some TCS, so you wonÂ’t spin out. If you go over a rise in the road, with full throttle and turning the wheel at the same time, one of your wheels spin, and then you start sliding. You have to catch it and get back in control within the first second, or else youÂ’re wall fodder or playing in the sandbox or mowing the grass or whatever. You get my point. TheyÂ’re all results you want to stay away from.

Another problem is the body roll. It gives it the momentum to start and keep the slide going. I personally loathe body roll, and thatÂ’s why my #1 complaint (not that there are many :sly: ) about my set-ups is that theyÂ’re too stiff. For the first time in my tuning experience, I had to really stiffen up the stabilizers. And that helped some.

Conclusion:
ItÂ’s an awesome car if you want to amaze your buddies and yourself. ItÂ’s a great car to race around the track for a lap or two and get an incredible laptime. But thereÂ’s just too many liabilities for it to go for an extended 7-15 lap race.

For a measly 20,000Cr (I think I paid that amount for it), you can get a car worthy of being a sleeper and a supercar slayer. I say get it when you can. YouÂ’ll be surprised on how fast it is.

Thanks for reading, and please comment!!!

great review man, and your calling it ugly? đź‘Ž đź‘Ž howq can you call a car ugly when it slays a S7? that's pretty hard, but anyways nice pics, and good review.

Love the 300ZX đź‘Ť Pics are great. I actually like this body style. The new 350Z's don't do it for me. :yuck: I will have to try your setting on this car, since I already have a fully modded one. And, I definately remember it's a sleeper :)

PS: My report is on it's way don't worry. :dopey:

My Report :

The Exterior :
I don't like the exterior much. The rear of the car is okay, but the front tells me "Acura Integra" because of the 4 circular lights. The hood ornament is "cute" I have one in my garage, but I have no clue how it got there. The wheels are too small in life and the game. I think they're 17's, but GT4 makes them look like 14 / 15 inch rims. Not too much to say about the exterior, I just don't like it much.

The Good...
Power, torque, and acceleration. The rest isn't that well. I couldn't find a good enough setting spec for myself for the car to handle like it says by its name. Please PM me and yell at me and tell me that this car sucks at handling. I know how you'll feel.

The Bad...
A lot is bad. I'll give you a list of all the things. Understeer, some acceleration, the braking, the weight, the handling, distribution of weight, driving up hill is bad. I can go on and on. I'm sorry for this report guys / girls, but my settings weren't as well as I thought they would be. Sorry Folks.

Overall...
Not my first choice of car now. I didn't like it at all. To tell you the truth, Mercedes Benz CLK 55 AMG's suck in my honest opinion :) The springs were left kind of hard and soft like luxury cars should be, but this suspension is too stiff. Way too much understeer. I think I'm going to leave the "Luxury" car tuning to Speedy_2  I'm not good handling this much weight. Overall 1 - 10 with this car, 10 being the best, I'd give it a 5 or a 6. I'm not satisfied at all with this garbage...

...I'm doing the Lexus IS200 next time...

Am I the only person who actually quite likes the looks of the 300zx?

Then again I am a 'product' of the 80's, I was 19 when the 300ZX came out and to me it looked (at the time) amazing, so I guess I still have a soft spot for it.

I'm suprised the CLK 55 is that bad. I'll have to give it a go and see for myself. :indiff:

My next report will be about the Nissan R390 Road Car, so someone else can do the Yellow Bird (unless they're too chicken to do it ;) )

The pics are good, too. You used many angles that I haven't seen before, and they look really nice. đź‘Ť

WOW! Thanks Vonie. I tried my best this time. I was knd of sick last night because I didn't eat for almost the whole so I didn't feel good, but they did come out good, I see :) Thanks once again dude.

I saw my first Zx300 in '92 in the flesh and it looked amazing! There was not much else moderately priced, on the road with lines like that in England...maybe the Merc SL500, Porsche 944(or 928 etc) and new NSX but they were more expensive cars. The Z made urban heroes like the Cossie look hideous and brutish. I remember idolising that cars looks for ages...until I saw my first Mitsubishi GTO, '93 Supra TT and then the Lotus Carlton!...is it green? Is it black? ;)

Regarding the Mercedes Benz CLK 55 AMG and other large 4 door autos - Maybe you could consider the motives and concept behind the invention. These cars are designed to be autobahn cruisers not agile gymkhana sprinters, so maybe testing them on highspeed tracks might bring out their strengths as the makers intended. Good pics though, I really like some of the compositions and the fact that I can see the lines of the car even though it is black. :)

The first paragraph tells us how much he likes the looks of the 300ZX.

The second paragraph tells you tips for testing the CLK 55, and it gives you compliments for your pics.

I'm glad a lot of people other than the members themselves are commenting on the reports. It really helps this thread thrive. đź‘Ť

The Exterior...
I like the exterior of this Lexus. I just wish they had the other blue I was hoping for when I first bought the game. This whole Lexus looks pretty decent. It's a reasonably priced car for average, well some, but it's a Luxury car that could be worked on. I love Drifting this car stock on N1 tires. This car is also very good at Driving with all highest Power add ons and the tuning involved :) A lot of tuning went into this car and I was got the idea from a Phantom D Drift Video I had seen and there was a blue IS200 like this one. So I said hey, I'm gonna do this car :D

(I got this one from Scaff :) )
ekMatt's đź‘Ž's
The understeer is hard and comes in when you don't want it or need it. I was at Deep Forest Tuning this baby, and she kept understeering when there was no acceleration. I said what the heck? So the next lap instead of braking and not accleration, I accelerated and I got through the turn almost perfectly giving me an extra second for my lap :D Some of the weight could have been added on, but I was afraid the suspension would need some more tweaking. There wasn't much bad in this car as I thought there would.

ekMatt's đź‘Ť's
My speed is consistent in this car for once :) I don't always have to brake all the way when I get into a slow turn, I can brake slightly and it's not going to affect my speed. The handling is good for once also. It's not an issue like I have said in my other reports. The way this car performs is actually stunning in my opinion. I might even post my Drift Settings if any one wants them, I might put them in the Drift Settings Depot :)

ekMatt's Over All Opinion...
This is a good car with Racing Tires or the Original Tires it comes with. Stock, the car needs some power adders. It is extremely slow stock. This car is good in corners and straight away's. I have no problem with it at all. Not even when I'm driving backwards :dopey: I love this Lexus :D

(I tried a Fish - Eye lense effect on the first shot because I thought the angle was good enough to make it look like one)

~Exterior~

Ugly, Ugly, Ugly........That's what a lot of people say about the looks of this car. I thought the same thing at first. But, it started to grow on me. Although, I don't completely love it either. From the side it's nice. And I kinda like the rear. The front, :indiff: I'm not so sure about. The Wheels are great though đź‘Ť .

~Pros~

Believe or not this car drives like a sports car. There's not one hint of 4 door sedan in the handling. I threw this car around like a rag doll on Deep Forest Raceway and it never let me down. Under steer is almost nonexistent and even some oversteer is present thanks to the absence of driving aids. This also contributes to the fun factor. While the R4's usually keep the wheelspin to a minimum, you can still break the rear tires loose for a little drifting fun. :dopey: The 4.2L V8 puts out 592 HP when modified, which is very impressive for such a small engine. The ride was perfect. Even with all the uneven surfaces of Deep Forest the tires managed to keep in conact with the track at all times, except for at the tops of hills. :sly: I'm sure many of you know which hills those are.

~Cons~

I really couldn't find anything that I didn't like about this car. Some would list the looks as a bad thing. But, It really doesn't bother me when I'm driving it.

~Verdict~

Plain and simple, this car is a blast to drive. I found myself driving lap after lap trying to push out a lower lap time. Then, I would drive even more laps just for the heck of it. Handling and the power of a sports car, yet roomy enough to seat 5. I'll take 2 please. :)

Great report Speedy, and that third to last pic is just eye candy! From the thumbnail view, it looks like a cartoon was pasted on there, but the full view makes it look stunning. The only real thing I disagree with in your report is the exterior part. I personally think it looks classy and stylish. Having seen a few on the road makes me almost want one.

Well finally, someone who does like it. I this it's pretty elegant looking. But, sometimes that front does bother me. I'm glad you like it though. đź‘Ť
