GT4 WRS Week 41 : "Phantom of the Opera"

tweaking has brought on a new meaning to me this past week.
This is my second race here, my first adjusting a car. Never did it before.

thought I'd share my rookie setting. The tranny has been a bear
still working on that.

Tranny ... not quite right, but very close, Auto 10 then custom by feel

i think im done this week, to lazy to try and run this again, ive been racing every day since last monday and getting pretty tired of watching how I almost could have had an amazing time (T1 35'980, T2 1'06.233) if i hadnt barely brushed the wall, and by barely i mean exact intersection at the vertex of the rear tire with the concrete slab on the uberfast righthander down the back stretch. At first i didn't feel any collision, but the photos brough real pain to my soul. ...oh well.
Anyway this is my clean lap

you have no idea... stop being judgemental of the guy, i don't condone what he wants to do, but it is not your place to say whether he is making the right choice or not... something like this isn't just some spur of the moment thought process, there would be other contributing factors in this, other than not being able to afford racing school or whatever...
so get off your high horse, stop preaching your bull**** and get on with the racing at hand...

yes, but its not that simple, and there are probably another reasons that are making me down. Remember that we´ve not been talking about this, because you never agreeded and always hated the idea and said this is just for stupid people, so by reading these stuff i think i shouldn´t talk about this with you or with people that think like that.
Maybe you should think that there are reasons for me to think like that, its not "just because i can´t be a racer". Not necessary another reasons, but another factors that makes me think like that.

if you are infact thinking of killing yourself is there any way i could talk you into do it on a webcam?? ans please make sure to give me enough advance warning so i can go get some popcorn
my only advice is that if you're going to do it, make sure you do it right. the last thing you want is to fark it up and end up paralyzed so you're crippled and can't make another attempt. better yet, why don't you come try and kill me like you've said you want to so many times? just come at me with a knife or something and i'll make sure the job gets done right

veil, just one thing, where just humans just living in the moment. if we cant do something, we find other things to occupy ourselves, and we continue to do this for most of our lives. u should addopt such a philosiphy as the rest of us do in every day lives. i cant race due to being 21 and too old to start probably, and also due to not having loads of money like urself, but i dont winge and wine like a 5 yr old who doesnt get and extra scoup of chocolate icecream like his older brother does. i accept reality, like u should mate. btw, insane wrs splits, i should have done better with that 1'05.333 split i had, very angry not to finish that lap i was. oh well, next week should be fun!

What makes you guys think that racing is the best thing since sliced bread?
I have been racing for 6yrs, 4 of them semi-professionaly and at the top of the pile.
Last year I won the championship against one of the best drivers in that class in the world.
Was I happy? Yeah for one lap. The warm down lap after finishing the final race when I won...
But the rest of the time? It was hell. No one here who is wishing to be a driver understands the pressure involved. There is so much pressure, not just from your 'team' but from you, the other competitors and those who want to doubt you.
If you think that being a racing driver is just a dream come true will realise after a year how much hard work is involved. I do it because I am addicted to it, I have petrol in my veins and cant get rid of it. I need more infact.
But it aint all fun and games. You tell me how you feel after having to go to gym morning and evening, doing almost the same workout all the time. You can barely ever socialise because you need your sleep. No drinking or smoking either if you want to perform at your peak.
Oh and then tell me how you feel after losing a championship by one point? Or you go out in qualifying and the setup just is not right, what are going to do hit the restart button? This aint GT4 buddy.
After last year, even though I had won I still wanted to stop because the time inbetween heats and race days can get so painful, especially if you are in a rough patch.
Dont get me wrong though, clipping the perfect apex, or ringing the three bells or getting up on two wheels, because there is just so much grip, is so cool and so fun and I wish it happened all the time. Winning races feels good too, there is a strange feeling you get up your neck and it won't stop for the next 30mins, you begin to wonder if you can do the next heat it gets so bad.
I am just saying that before you kill yourself, think again and again and again. Not being able to race is not the be all and end all.
Save up for a year, till you can buy a kart. Buy the kart, go to the track and practice. Practice whenever you can, until you on pace (you won't be on your first attempt). Once you on pace save up some more, just enough for entry and petrol and maybe tires. Then at that one race, that one chance give it your all. If something doesn't happen from there then kill yourself. But don't give up before you have even tried. Then you are being a loser, a bad one too.

I won´t even lose my time with you. I don´t need people to pay atention on me, i don´t want to show off, i just wanted to notice all the GTP´s guys about what i will do, so they will know the reason for me being offline forever.

but it doesn't justify your judgement of him, having gone through someone close to me doing it i don't quite understand it, but i will never pass judgement on what someone else will do with their lives coz it is not my place...
and if he told you a long time ago you should have been man enough not to make those kinds of comments about what he is doing, you should have been able to accept it as something that he wants to do...
and trust me there are more reasons than he is willing to divulge, something much more personal than wanting to be a racing driver, that are influencing this decision of his, stuff that maybe he doesn't notice or doesn't understand... they are always there... trust me i know...

I tried to race this combo a few times and it kicked by butt.
Ran in the 1'12s at T2 (or is it T3).
Anyone who can finish a lap on this course that is close to "WRS Clean" is a great driver and certainly one of the best on the GTP.
(trust me, I've been spending more and more time in the GT4 forum and GT4 sub-forums... So please! Trust me when I say the racers of the WRS are the best on the GTP. 👍 )
