Opposite opinion of last week:
Car: 👎 I hate corvettes :)
Track: Autumn ring rocks, much better than Laguna Seca

Oh, I won't be submitting for week 56 because I still have more to do on my History project....

Oohhh man. Since this is a public forum I can't say what just happened to my pants when I saw this combo....

What?! I haven't finished with the Zonda yet!

On the plus side, Autumn Ring is my test track. :D (see my sig)

hey, great combo, had a quick hours play on it and managed to get

26.605
1'01.267

it felt like the realistic limit when i finished the lap, possibly another .1-.15 if u nail all corners.

quick write up, change gears at the red line,

1st- take no more than 60-62 km/h
2nd- take fast at 110 as u turn in, dont worry if i hit the inside grass also, as long as ur setup nicely for the chickane section
chickane- tap brake and take the right at 118 ish, then tap again and drift the left slightly at similar speed, change to 3rd as u catch the drift at the left (u should be hitting the rumble strips here, but not hopping them severly)
the double right- u can hop the right if ur a bit out of shape, full throttle, then the right leading to t1 is a bit iffy, just go with the flow and hope for the best.

T1 passed
veer off to the extreme left as u set up to take the right at 65, then the left can be taken at 95, full throttle as u pass the fast left, then the hairpin u brake into it, and start accelrating at 72ish, maybe inducing a slight drift.

pass T2

the chickane, hop over the left, cutting it a little, then brake and avoid hitting these rumble strips too harshly, in my best lap, i missed both of them completely, its faster particularly on exit if u avoid making any harsh contact with them. switch to gear 2 as u take the right part of it, at 100+ km/h, and for the last right, again in gear 2 at around 105-110, using the inside rumble strip to help trun the car. and then its full throttle to the finish, i broke that second barrier i was shooting for quite easily in the end;) time submitted

If you have a clean time, submit it. It looks better than no submission in my book. Also, you'll still get points for it on the leaderboards. And, it's COOL TO SUBMIT! If you have a clean lap anyway.

And dangit! I shouldn't have looked to see if the next race was posted yet! I wasn't supposed to play GT tonight, and if I did, I was supposed to do JGTC... I guess I'll do a few laps on this combo though. :sly:

looks like a lot of guys enjoy this awesome track... i though week 56 was my last before BC, but i have to play this one... still have to learn the car, i have never drove before and it is sports tires, so a little catching up to do.

had some laps to have a feel for the car:

T1 - 26´805
T2 - 1´01´856

hopefully still 0´5 in the lap overall:)

Loosing too much time in T1 - T2, Dan what gear are you using for those corners??

26.687 (seen 26.5)
1'01.774 (where is my time going????)

Final (jump on msn ;) )

Early days yet, but if i can figure out this T1 - T2 i should be looking good 👍

Ugh. Not looking good for me. About 20 laps in, and I'm not sure if I want to put any more in. Just not a fan of this car, at all. Too porky and fatty and caddilac-y (feeling, of course). Engine feels extremely lazy, and I HATE lazy feeling engines/gearing. I may be myself lazy at times, but I definitely do not enjoy driving lazy feeling things. Just not fun for me currently.

The fact that I don't have any real experience on this track in GT4 in the normal direction, doesn't help my times either. Which, should be a reason for me to spend time on it to learn it, but I just don't feel like it right now. Maybe this weekend or on next Monday, but I'm not tempted currently.

Possibly submitting these splits: :indifft:
T1: 27.008
T2: 1'02.849

the track is ok albeit a bit twichy but like others i dont like the car much. heavy and understeery and slow to react to anything you ask it.
dont know if i will put more time into it (gtx and arc are waiting).

with all this rule change talk i wonder how long laptimes will be kept hidden, any sight on a conclusion yet?

just to confirm... "any tires"
arcade mode for street cars tops out at S3's right?
so there won't be anything silly ruining this combo, like running racing tires?

Right. S3 is the softer you can use in Arcade mode on road cars.
Anyone posting sub 1'00 T2, and therefore using racing tyres will have to do the hokey-pokey in front of his webcam as a forfeit. :D

I was really excited, this'll be my first race after submitting qualifying times to Flat-out the other day, and it's at THE RING... Ah, the Autumn Ring. Still a great track but I was looking forward to an awesome challenge to kick off my WRS career.

Stuck at work for a LOOOONG time today and then away for the next couple of days so I'll have to put aside some time at the weekend to attack this... Never driven this particular 'Vette before but my preconceptions tell me there'll be a faint whiff of opposite lock as it gently slides through the corner's and a fair bit of wheel spin if the tyres aren't too soft.

What fun... :) 👍

For the record, I realized 2 or 3 weeks ago while looking at my stats, that I've been running the WRS for more than 6 months and I only used an US car twice. The Camaro in week 32 (not much successful) and the GT40 Race Car in week 41 (even less successful).
So I chose to use another US icon (the ZR-1). Ok, it's heavy, lazy, understeering or whatever you mention, but hey, I'm not responsible for what US car companies produce :D
And the Autumn Ring is a lovely little track that had been mentioned a few times in the suggestions thread, that we haven't used for a long time, and which is a perfect place to lay down some rubber.

Haha, that's how I started! I spent hours and hours and hours and sooo much frustration at just trying to get a clean lap. I had three clean laps in probably over 10 hours of playing... Granted, I had only been playing GT4 for like two weeks, but STILL! :dunce: 👍

I always try to do clean laps anyway - when I was doing the qualifying if I took a turn too rough and went off I'd slow down to let the ghost pass me so I can see where I'm strong and where I can make up time on the next clean lap.

I'm done at work - the girlfriend and I are off to look at a house before I can have a go at this :)

Hey the ZR1 felt pretty decent on the Autumn Ring... we'll see how the times go though thru the week... *needs to get his cash flow up in the game however LOL *:dopey: Randy

I hope there's not gonna be any nasty webcam surprises in the archives?

I was going to get a few more hours practice in with the Zonda before PM'ing my time in. I think I'd better get practicing on this one though, might be a while before I can stop drifting and get a clean lap.

Nice combo. 👍

P.S. I think I broke my webcam doing something similar to this last time I got on the fizzy stuff?? :sly:

I don't have a clean replay, only a crap dirty in 5 spots replay that is a result of only 10 min of messing around during a break from my project.

Just turned in my project today, 11 pages in 3 days ug...but my cover kicks ---!

I'll put in a few laps later today

I saw "Ze Ring" in the title and excitedly thought "Nurburgring!!!" Oh well -- Autmn Ring is good too... :)

I'll give this one a go later on -- probably tomorrow sometime...

Yeah sorry, I could fit the 'Z' of ZR-1 anywhere in the word 'Autumn', so it had to be 'Ze'. Sorry for the confusion.

Are you all ready for the real Ring again ? We've been there in week 50 !

Early splits, after about 6-7 laps.

Nice track, gutless heavy car!

Strange, it feels like the 'valet' switch is in the on position!

Found a good site for those interested in reading about the car-here!

No.

You havn't used an Aussie car once :sly: *nudge, nudge, wink, wink*

Anyway. This week Colby and I are racing for the right to be the King for next week, and therefore, the champion of the universe. So anyone, feel free to hinder his progress. :sly:
