Pink_The_Floyd is a regular poster and quite appreciated on GTP, so I didn't wanted all this to be discussed in the thread in the first place.
But since his past has been revealed, I'll tell you more.

Hi Bram !
This is the first time you race in the WRS since I took over the stewardship, back in week 30.
There's no need to bring old things back into the spotlight of the result thread, I'd rather sort them out backchannel before the race ends.

I haven't forgotten what happened to TS020 in week 73 of the GT3 WRS (July 2004), the way he disappeared, and the fact that you conveniently registered the week after with the same IP address, the same email address and the same birth date.
I sincerely hope that you're not trying to do the same trick this week, thinking that everybody has forgotten. Mods have the memory of an elephant.

So here is what will happen :
Whatever you submitted time will be, I will request a replay from you. That way, if you can't upload one, your time will be DQ'ed, as it happened to a few people already.
That leaves you with 3 options :
  1. 👍 you take that opportunity to buy / rent / borrow a MaxDrive or Xport (or to find someone living close to you who has one) in the next 12 days, and post a replay by next race deadline (August 12th).
  2. :cool: you race only because you enjoy the race and you don't mind being DQ'ed for failure to provide a replay.
  3. :embarrassed: you stay away from the WRS so that the well established 'Pink_The_Floyd' account doesn't have to disappear as TS020 did.

Honestly, I would prefer by far the first option which would show that you race for the same reasons we all race here : a great game, a challenging race and a friendly atmosphere.
I don't mean any offense, but welcoming you back to the WRS right now would be hypocritical, so I'd rather wait until August 13th for that.

He's a big Toyota fan and don't want to spoil anyone from racing a race they like.

To answer your question Bram :
  1. no, I (the member Flat-out) don't trust you yet.
    The pattern that can be seen this week is much too similar to what happened in week 2 for instance, and I can't believe that someone who is not known as an alien driver can run the fastest T1 in a race, ahead of Dan, Curtis, Tobi, Ben, Minolta_88 and Tannis.
    Providing a video or screen captures of your lap could make me (the user Flat-out) trust you.
  2. as the WRS steward, I don't have to trust you or not trust you. There are rules and Jordan asked me to enforce them.
    Anyone achieving a fast time who can't provide a replay (videos not accepted) will be DQ'ed. Whether it's you or anyone else doesn't matter at all.

But fact of the matter Bram is you have to get a Maxdrive, or no one will believe you. I'm afraid the WRS has a guilty until proven innocent way about it. I know how you feel, I was in your situation too. I was DQ'd 6 or 7 times because I didn't have a Maxdrive, I'm surely people were thinking 'This guy can't be for real' especially when I was in D3 and was battling Top of D2 most weeks.

Sorry Pink, but your past history IS going to cast a dark shadow over your present status (trust-wise)
No-one here wants to accept that anyone would cheat, we all just want to get on, have fun, and trust everyone. BUT, some guys DO cheat, and all get found out, eventually.
It's a sad fact, I know, but......

If you want to be accepted and trusted there is only one way, get a max-drive!

As Brad says, they are available on play-asia, are very cheap, and the ordering system on play is very secure (I use it all the time).
here is the European 'Play.com' site with the maxdrive Evo (full kit with stick) for £14.99
It's in-stock and available for dispatch straight away!

So, wash extra dishes, run the vaccuum round the house, tidy the garden.....anything, but get one ordered. It will arrive in under a week, and all this will go away.

Anyway, Gingiba, I certaintly did NOT cheat to win with a Toyota, I just race them all the time so you could call me a Toyota pro 👍

But how did you pay for it? When it arrived? I haven't got a card or anything, I have got a bank card but it's protected against internet-nuying stuff...
 
inoccent untill proven guilty is what i feel, the T1 time of 11.926 is the only slight doubt in the lap of pink floyds, as i struggle to even get the bastard in the 11.9xx's, the rest of the splits are beliavable, and hence, the lap is true

Surely if you asked your parents, grand-parents, aunt/uncle, friends of the family, teacher...........?

Give them the cash, ask them to order it, it comes in 2-5 days, problem sorted.

Even in Norway, debit/credit cards work don't they? People have them, and use them to order stuff off the net, don't they?

For goodness sake, if you sent me the cash through the post, I would order it for you!

The only barriers between you and obtaining a maxdrive, are the one's you are putting there yourself!

Buddy you arent going to draw much sympathy saying how much time you took because I know for a fact that it took me and lots of other people days to get their times. I am sorry to hear about your troubles finding a max drive. I just remeber however when I first bought mines at the first sight that I may be capable of winning. It was only a matter of hopping in the car and driving to mall. I realise that it not that simple where you are, but still it doesent seem impossible to find.

On a personal level I do not think any less of you as a member over this whole ordeal, you are still a very good member imo. My opinion means very little however.

Everybody agrees to that, but when things follow the same pattern again and again and again, suspicion becomes the only solution.
It is clear to us all that no replay will ever back-up Pink's submitted time and that his time this week will be DQed.
Yet, a video of that lap (you proposed this in one of your PMs, Bram) would prove innocence and make that DQ honorable.

FYI, 27 laps submitted so far, and as expected the results are pretty close (8 gold times already, almost all podium times).
4 hours remaining for the dozen of racers who posted T times but didn't submit yet.

Are the cut off times pre-determined? I assumed they were calculated after times were entered into your results page?

Four hours to improve my time....hmm? Trouble is I also need to eat and have a bath. Trust me I need a bath, I'm a gardener, it's very warm over here at the moment and cutting hedges getting covered in clippings and dust is not as much fun as most passers by seem to think!

Good job We don't use webcams on here. :lol: I probably look like Wurzel at the moment.

Edit @ 20.52 my time: Just over an hour till deadline and no sign of Balls yet? :odd:

My ears are burning. I get the feeling there's a DFP oop north somewhere getting some serious abuse. ;)

And no Darren, the cut-off times are not pre-determined. They are calculated from the submitted times. (That's why DQs sometimes result in a cut-off change).

No, 9pm GMT is in 7 minutes.
Perhaps your timezone has switched to DST recently ?
 
I dunno I am in the same time zone as New York City. And I am sure that its 4:56 pm there. Oh well, thanks for clearing that up for me though Mr. Flat-Out.
 
It's actually 10PM here in a few minutes, we're on BST (British Summer Time) though which means we're an hour further forward.

That might be what confuses some people.

It did me for my first few weeks.
