... Can you post the leaderboard in post one or a new thread, then you can update post one and not post a new board each week or so.
i could do that but i see one drawback: in that way you cannot check the history but only the final last 8 weeks. otoh, if that's what the community wants then off course i will do so right away 👍 👍

 big: As a newbie I think you're doing a great job. Even remembered to get the 'ol guy on the board......how 'bout that! Keep up the great work.

By the way I'm having a hellofa time catching you this week.....nice driving. 👍

leaderboard update for week 99 results - feedback welcome and appreciated!

Nice work Steven 👍 me being in 1st place in D1 is slightly misguiding when you dont look at the fact that its only lots of podiums added together against better runners who may have skipped the odd week, I dont think I have a single win in those 7 weeks listed :( but it makes a pleasant change to see my name at the top for once :P

Thanks for all your time and effort you put into this project

And how is that misleading?

The guy who runs Lemans at a consistent fast pace wins - not the guy who sets the record lap and then has to pit often due to mechanical failures from pushing too hard.

Now obviously the analogy is flawed, but you get my point. Being consistent with close to the top finishes will always trump the elite drivers who run once in a while. So there is nothing misleading about it.

well thank you, ron, this really means a lot to me. it feels like the 'troubles' (i am not from eire LOL) that we might have had earlier are fully and truly over. which is good

also, i agree with kenny that consistency is something that should be rewarded; maybe not as much as in cyril's previous leaderboard setup but still. car racing is about endurance most of the time, may it be that the occasional hill climb or drag race can be fun too.

standings after updating for week 101 patiently awaiting hydr0x's device & replay:

I think you need to remove my week 8 (week 101) score as I was unable to supply the replay

By the way, how are the scores calculated? I can't seem to figure out the relationship between the times and the percent score.

you're right - thanks for the advice. come tuesday it'll be corrected.

about the percentages calculation: i honestly don't know. casio/brad designed the excel sheet so he should be able to explain. i'll ask him to drop a line.

I didn't design it. I think Colby might have. But by looking at it, I believe it's like the following.

The weeks time is a percentage compared to the variance in the average time of all submitted times. (Err...that probably doesn't make sense). Then the total percentage average is the average of the top 6 of those times.

If someone can send me the board in xls format I can have a look and provide more detail, as I no longer have it on this computer.

The percentage is worked out like this:
  • (1 - ((your overall position) / (total number of racers))) * 100
So if you came 12th overall one week when 29 racers submitted times then your percentage would be:
  • (1 - (12/29)) * 100 = 58.62%
When I was mucking around with a system I thought this was the fairest way to see how someone performed.

I then simply take the average of the best 6 of those results over the past 8 weeks 👍
QED

thanks weary one 👍 and sorry for my ignorance about not remembering you explaining earlier :dopey:

8-week wrs leaderboard updated to week 103. i skipped 102 but if anyone's interested please pm or post me and i'll gladly fill you in 👍

a historic first: it's a couple leading both div1 and div2 these weeks - congrats to you kelly and ron

these results are preliminary in the sense that pyrozona (102) and bigrew (week 103) still have to provide replays for their gold submissions - real sweet of jerry to give them some more time to load their laps.

Huhh - who'd have thought... first place.

I'll take it, but it's obvious sjaak68 owns me any week he runs

108 - sorry i skipped a few weeks but that was 'cos of delayed replay submissioning.

Umm... Is it just me, or should the overall winner basically get 100%?
metar, the winner never gets 100% - check the history of the leaderboard. also look at post 616 where colbs explains his formula-ing for the leaderboard.

Yay! Up to second place. Only one more to go, but me thinks it won't be easy to overtake DJ :)

Good thing the board rewards consistency, :dopey: it's nice to see my name in the first spot.. 👍

thanks for the update bigracer.
