Before you flame me, I've looked around for a thread that had to do with dumb quotes, but no avail...

This is a thread where you post some of the most retarted quotes that you or someone else had said, me and Eric have alot to contribute to this thread... So be nice and post some dumb quotes for other people to laugh at. 👍

Can I respectfully suggest that you knock off the pointless threads?

It's not a real problem yet, but I forsee it getting worse until it is a problem. Really, if you are so bored, go outside and throw rocks or something.
 
To elaborate further, in the last month, you've posted 25 threads, almost all of them getting to the point of serious pointlessness. They include asking for a food forum; what games made you buy a games console; a new rule for people reviving old threads (which is just ridiculous); who you think should become a moderator and who your favourite moderator is; dreams; bugs; which car made you love drifting; would you name your kids after a car; why is GTP "addicting" (which I swear I've seen threads on this multiple times in the past); the post office; a pimple on your armpit (oh my god, you're going to die!); grip racing vs drift racing (which had been done at least 6 times in the past); a "spot the difference" thread (which is becoming really monotonous and not well thought out); cars you like to cruise in and this thread.

That's only really half of them so far. If you had made only a few of these threads, it'd be fine, but it's starting to become tiring.
 
Sorry then, you didn't have to embarrass me more than I'm already am. (Especially in front of everyone covering alot of my threads...) I will slow down my posting and thread making since everyone is turning against me. Geez, you don't have to be such a baby about it. WTF, a simple PM would have made me stop. All I was trying to do is voice my thoughts, I didn't know that was wrong, I wondered how other people were feeling about a topic, which is the main reason of why people make threads.

Precisely. That's what we'd rather see here. It's fine every once in a blue moon to ask what people think of the pimple on your armpit, but when you post a few too many threads like that one, we'd rather you just used some cream. Get what I mean?

I agree, it belongs here. He wanted this thread to have some funny quotes in it, it'd be nice if y'all contibuted instead of making fun of him by quoting his posts calling htem dumb- not cool.

So what he made a lot of threads, where's the rule against it. Like he said, if you didn't like it, a PM would have been a better way to go about things. Or better yet, if you don't want to confront someone, report the thread and let a mod talk with him, very simple and much easier for everyone.

Anyways I can rattle off some threads that were good. Take for instance...

"The new break out board"- not pointless at all.

"A few useful tips about GT4"- very helpful, he even got a couple +rep, again not pointless.

"What does america have against mexico"-seems to have sparked alot of convo, see ing as how it's already 6 pages long.

"What car do you like to cruiise in" and "Whats wrong with this picture"- both somewhere around 4 pages, so someone thought they were good for something.

"What car would you name your kids after"- a pretty funny thread i thought.

"Which car helped you most in drifting"- in the drift forum we need as many new threads to create convo as we can get, so this was not in vain.
 
It's not just the moderators, other people are getting a bit tired of most of the threads you make. People are actually saying something because it's gotten to that point. I, for example, tend to not even want to read your threads because of the poor quality and uselessness that shows up most of the time. Were not trying to rag on you, were just saying think before posting.

And yes your Mexican Border thread did get a lot of hits, but that was mostly because of the complete ignorance and controversy stemming from that.

So saying that putting up a border between Mexico and the U.S. is because of Racism isn't ignorant.

I never said he himself was ignorant, I was just saying that alot of the content in the first post was pretty ignorant

EDIT: I may have overdid it by saying complete ignorance. There was ignorance nonetheless

I know what you were saying. I agreed with with you regarding the fact that there was some ignorance there.

BUT I wouldn't go as far as to attribute the popularity of the thread to the amount of ignorance there, but rather the differences in opinions.

So making yourself pass out so you can get "high" or to make yourself go to sleep isn't ignorant.

I do agree. The whole thread wasn't about the original controversy that appeared, but a lot of the intelligent arguments that arose after, did stem from it.

I'd respectfully suggest that it's not US that needs to calm down. If you're going to become so apparently upset over comments like this, I don't think that the internet is the place for you.

Your treatment here is a lot better than you could expect at most other forums... and the main reason for that is a strong and active moderation team; the very ones you are calling 'bullies'. Visit a few less-moderated forums and see for yourself.

Perhaps your own behaviour might possibly have something to do with it, also.

If you post something publicly then you open that post up to public response. Although responses are required to obey the rules of this forum, nothing requires those responses to agree with or support the original post.

Here's what I have to say about that topic. Consider a police officer charged with the task of reducing speeding on a given road. He's got two ways he can go about it:
  • Get an unmarked car and drive along among the traffic, quietly singling out and stopping individual speeders one at a time.
  • Get a marked car with POLICE written all over it, park it sideways across the median with a big old radar gun pointed out the window and his smokey hat on his head, and occasionally get out and signal somebody to pull over.
Both methods stop the individuals who are speeding excessively - but the second method also makes every other driver going past slow down and reconsider his own actions. Sometimes that's the most effective method of accomplishing the goal.
