Post away!

Jeez, those crashes look so much more violent then NASCAR crashes today. (for obvious reason of course but... damn)

Fred's post happened at the GMC V8 race event in Canberra Australia, where I live, and I was there, only a couple of hundred metres down the track. Damn shame they took that race off the schedule, now Canberra's just a hole :sly:

What were you driving, and what did you hit? I'm assuming you lost control because of the dirt the previous driver spilled onto the track?

He did not die.

Why am I not impressed?

I was driving my Proton Satria GTi and I hit a marshall's box surrounded by a tyre barrier. I think the dirt on the road was definitely a contributor but mixing tyre compounds didn't help either :)

Ooo, I love laughing at other people's misfortune!

Really, I do.

That vid's just comically stupid, it proves that late-1950's machinery just wasn't meant to travel at 120+ mph in packs. I had a dream last night with a NASCAR race having multiple cars with roll-overs, so this sort of made my morning in a bizzare and unfortunately grim way.

He did not die.
I often wonder how quick YouTube vids would download if it weren't cluttered with snippets of video games.

This is why NASCAR needs to return to North Wilkesboro (kind of long, can stop at 2 min or so):

Still funny to watch :)

The crash is at 2:55.
The funniest part of that if that he takes of the steering wheel and throws it away, but because the car is upside down the steering wheel goes up instead of down.

My guess on this is that when he changed wheels to his competition tires, the wheels didn't fit all the way down on the hub center, and he only had a little bit of the studs in the lug nuts. Then when stressed . . . . .

This is the region I used to be a member of. I could wish I'd been there for this. :scared:

 i love the guy who says "oh woah, what's that?!" erm, it's a wheel you dick

here's my contribution. I found this while i was at school in IT one day. No need to explain it. Just watch :D

:odd:

Although I'd like to post a video of what happens when you streetrace (no actual street racing just the cars in a lot. Showing the destruction of man and machine that can happen with streetracing. In all the images whoever was last in that car died in the car but the video just shows the cars no bodies or anything. If it's ok i'd like to post it but i'd rather ask before hand.

Anyways favorite crash video is not on YouTube so if you want to stream it on another site here it is.

Sure, go ahead. As long as it doesn't show the body or anything than it's OK.

Glad to clear that up.

:-)

Oh my god hilarious.

@ the BMW with 5 minutes left: Holy crap.
I've always been scared of dragster wrecks, though. They always roll as violently as possible, they always tear to shreds, and they always catch on fire.

@ wfooshee: Awesome.

To be honest, I would personally like it if we could have this thread with as little in the way of public service announcements as possible. Especially if the person, in fact, died. I'm sure everyone knows the risks and consequences of street racing, so I don't think shoving it in everyones faces is necessary.

With all due respect, you may have started this thread, but the moderating staff gets to say whether it's okay to post videos where people are killed in them.

Let's also not forget that this is also the "Comedy Corner" so Ha-Ha > R.I.P. With that said...

Welcome to F1, Jos Verstappen! Welcome back, Eric Bernard! Have a seat Eddie Irvine! And Martin Brundle's luck continued its streak, so nothing really changed.
