Truely amazing effort - lots have tried this and you are the first to succeed. Is there anything you can't do?

Thanks for your kind words. Yes it was really really hard. I think that having used the car in the 1000 Miles! series was a real help due to the need for lots of blocking, shortcutting, use of NOS etc.
I'm surprised I'm the first to do it though. Given that I consider myself to be of "average" ability, I'm sure it could be achieved by others. It's just an understanding of what is needed to win and the skills to be able to achieve it.
Good luck to all who try. 👍 👍
BTW I did save 3 replays just to prove to myself that I did do it!!!

Happy racing,

nige

Dude - 111813 points don't mean nothing ;)

Try the WRS Qualifier. I know Fizio managed a Div1 time...

With all due respects I wonder how the many people who enjoy the 200 A-Spec thread and enjoy the challenge it presents for themselves will feel when they see this!

Can you give me one reason why I need to!! I like to play this game and enjoy myself at the same time - to play the game my way. I play FOR MYSELF. Not you or anybody else. If I can help others on the way all well and good. I'm NOT going to start comparing myself to you or anybody else - Dude :indiff:

:ouch: That's quite a harsh statement to put in to this subforum where we are discussing 200 pointers and in this particular case abstaining from the RAM-glitch. I am trying my damndest to obtain max points and it takes me enormous effort to achieve that IF it ever happens. I know how hard it is to drive in WRS div 1 because I have seen at least 2 of its members (Vexd & F) drive. I only wish I could drive like that but unfortunately I cant.
Nige is trying to help members of this forum obtaining 200 point races in anyway he can and he came up with a nice but difficult alternative. And helping out/asking for help is what most of us posting here do.

Please refrain from posting these kind of :ill: remarks. Let's keep these threads positive and move on.

Went to sleep + school, so I couldn't reply earlier.

I'm sorry. I'm probably a bit bad at explaining myself, as it's the second time in this subforum I've had a serious misunderstanding - text-based messages don't convey meanings very well. I was just refering to my opinion that a guy managing 111813 points has to be pretty good at driving - I reckon nige is a top driver, judging by his achievements. This was meant as a compliment, after his post where he considered himself of only "average" abilities. I meant, he's probably skilled enough to do the same as Fizio and gain a Div1-matching laptime.

I'll just stay out next time. Sorry...

FGT El Cap & Tokyo.

It took me over 60 retries to conquer Tokyo for 200 points and I had to run the race 3 times to go from 154 to 184 to 200.

El Cap was another ordeal. So many times I'd spin out after the first corner and have to restart only to mess up after the tunnel. On the 37th attempt I finally managed to obtain 154 points. It took another 13 attempts to get to 200 points and a MoV of 12.033 secs. For both these races I used the black mazda R2/R1 (T4) 860 bhp & 55 ballast.
Tokyo pit every 12 laps, it can be done with 15 but alas my tyres were gone at 12.
El Cap pit every 13 laps.

I've broken the 111K barrier with Tokyo :D

Only 6 more FGTs to go :scared: . NY, GVS, Azur, Seca, Motegi & Suzuka.

Hi another 200 A-Spec Points race

Its Like The Wind using a modified Suzuki GSX/R-4 Car up against a series of LM cars.

PAL Line Up - 20th after console reset

Pescarolo Courage C60/Peugeot Race Car ’03
Playstation Pescarolo C60/Judd Race Car ’04
Nissan R92CP Race Car ’92
AMG Mercedes CLK-GTR Race Car ’98
Peugeot 905 Race Car ‘92

Suzuki GSX-R/4 ’01 (myself)

It is a pretty difficult race and requires a lot of concentration and focus on. You need to at the start get up to speed really quickly and catch with the main pack using the NOS, but do not use too much that you will not have enough power to boost at the end.

Remember you got to be in the rivals slipstream at all times and try to keep it above 230mph or will you will lose.

It is patience through the 5 laps, on lap 5 just after turn 4 and you head towards the finish. Apply the NOS and you have time it right. Do it too early, and you could run out of NOS and the rivals overtake you, do it too late and you will have not enough time to overtake for first place.

No easy task but is a good challenge.

Race report can be found here which you can look at to get some idea on how to beat this race.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=95459

As well I finished 0.00.005 of a second from second place and the top four were only seperated by just 0.00.149 of a second. A tight but fun race in my opinion.

FGT 3. New York - 74 Laps
I pit every 8 laps (with two stints of 9 laps towards the end).
Mostly clean racing - only accidental touches.
Total Time ~1:41, MOV ~1.66 laps (~105s).
NOTE:- Take care of your rear tyres. No amount of tuning can get you even tyre wear without compromising lap times.

I've managed 158 points using 45/84 wing and 98 ballast. I pitted 2x 10 followed by 5x9. Won by 32 secs.

Tried 45/84 and 155 ballast => 185 pts. Tyres are near shot by lap 8 => aborted after 30 laps or so.
Tried 45/63 wing and 100 ballast for 180 pts. Still can only manage with careful driving 9 laps. laptimes around 1.20-1.21.
Currently on lap 31 and I need to find 30 secs lead if I am to do an extra pit as I will never make 2x10 needed to finish 74.
EDIT1: this race aborted too.

1 I suspect you are managing a lot of 1.19s or less? in order to pit more times than the AI.
2 What are your T times?

EDIT1: NY race aborted too.
EDIT2:Tried GVS for 160 points: lower wing & 101 ballast for 160 pts. managed to come in to pit first on red hot tyres, aborted on 11.
I silly mistake and it cost you 8 secs and there is no way in hell I can make that up and manage 8 laps on a set of tyres.

AMG.

As mentioned in my PM I don't keep notes, so cannot give you split times etc without re-running the race myself. However, for NY I do recall that the eighth lap was close to the limit for a set of tyres, and the ninth lap (x2) did require a full session of very careful driving. Also, I often rely on the AI losing more time than myself on an inlap/outlap. Over the length of these races those extra seconds can add up nicely.

GVS is a nasty one. In my 26 consecutive FGT races I have aborted three races. Two of these were at GVS when I messed up going down the hill to the second hairpin.

One thing I didn't mention before is that with practise it is possible to wallride the last tunnel at GVS, and by tapping the brake just before the exit remain on the road and under control. It takes a bit of practise, but it can save you a few tenths. More importantly wall riding does seem to preserve tyres slightly as the wall stops you from sliding sideways.

Currently taking a (short) break from GT4 as I cannot manage 2 practise laps at the 'ring on a set of tyres - yet I managed it the first time around.

It took me less than 10 tries and the first full race attempt for 175 was lost by 15 secs. It served as good practice though as I was able to bring down lap times to around 1.23 with a personal best of 1.22.182. Mov 18.413 secs. Black Mazda 787B

Congrats AMG, you're almost there.

It seems that yourself and nige have done multiple FGT races in the 787B whilst I was away playing GTA:SA. Are these races much easier in the Mazda? I'd expect you'll have more tuning options what with engine wearing, power upgrades and alternative tyres, but can it really keep up in the twisty bits?

Anyway, I have returned to the 100k quest after a two week break, and have now added the 'ring to post 26. I have also added my fastest lap times for each race from the in-game diary.

There's no tuning other than adding a Turbo 4 on a worn out car. Racing a F1 just proves too hard for me. The alternative is to use the mazda and have better (=less) pitstops. Nige can ± match F1 lap times but I lag behind by 2-3 secs. I cannot run faultless laps so any gains in secs on in/out laps by AI I lose on mistakes. His replays make it look soooo easy, till I try myself and then find out how hard it is.

Nige's replays help me to see how to tackle the track. If Im fortunate I catch on quickly (Azur). NY however seems more difficult than I expected.

If all goes well I should finish FGT in approx 6-8 weeks or so (fingers crossed).
Good to see you back here 👍 & hope to see your 100K pic soon. Hope bttlefed returns soon too!.

FGT now completed for maximum points, and post 26 updated to include all races. Unnecessary info's regarding previous non 200 point runs removed to prevent confusion between 145 point setup and 200 point setups - they made sense at the time, but no longer.

I'll be happy not having to run these races again after 30 consecutive FGT races, and having run them all in both A-spec and in B-spec even before that. Next I think I'll try something a bit easier - like the ice rallies in the notorious Dodge Ram.

FGT now completed for maximum points...

Excellent work there Car-less. I tried to rep but found I cannot rep same post twice :ill: I'll go through the thread and update #2 where applicable.

I'm still working/plodding on FGT and unfortunately so crap at it that the F1 car is out of my league for 200 points (in most races).

I've been (eventually) successful at FGT-Seca with the Chapparal 2J on R2 combo and a T3 and new Oil 892bhp. (Even R3s give 200 points).
Pit 14, 29, 45, 59, 73.
Seca is a track I'll never master and I have some "fond" memories of this track in Mission 12. :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy:
I tried the mazda 787B but lack of skills ...... => abort (many times)

I tried the same combo at FGT-NY but with R1/1 in an attempt to only pit 3 times failed. I then retried on R3s and pitted on 10, 10, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9.
This worked like a treat. I qualified in 1st and remained in 1st (except during most pitstops) till the end of the race.

Special Conditions - Whistler Ice Rally

Raced in both directions before progressing to the next difficulty.

Used the Dodge Ram straight from my garage with Racing Exhaust, Racing Chip, Supercharger and Nitrous as well as the non power upgrades. I cannot recall what race(s) I had added all that for, but thats how it was when I got in. Bolted on some Snow Tyres and I was ready to go.

Bounced my way round the track picking up about one time penalty per lap, yet winning every race by some 10 to 40 seconds. The best bit: 200 A-spec points per race in this 502BHP monster, even on easy!

Special Conditions - Chamonix Rally

As above. The only difference was that this time I picked up more time penalties - about 1.5 per lap. This would be due to the longer track, snow blindness in places, and a massive change in handling between the snow and the plowed sections.

The Dodge Ram pretty much owns the Special Conditions hall. I've 200-pointed everything in the hall except Grand Canyon Hard, Tsukuba Hard, Citta di Aria Hard and George V Hard using the Dodge Ram. Others have won Grand Canyon with it though (I haven't managed to win that with anything at all yet), and I believe someone won Citta di Aria with it, too.

The Ram is right at home on loose surfaces, but I found it to be a pig on paved tracks.

I have now 200-pointed everything in the Special Conditions Hall, and did NOT rely on the Ram for the easier dirt tracks, nor the paved ones. The dirt tracks were run using a variety of cars, though the Ram did come into play for some of the Hard races. Most of the paved races I maxed using a modified Opel Speedster - great fun at Tsukuba Wet.

Anyway, the point of that writeup on the ice rallies was more to show anyone who comes looking in the future just how easy it is to collect points with the Ram. I mean, a 500BHP truck earning 200 points against a stock Lancia Delta!

Extreme Events - Premium Sports Lounge

Shelby Series 1 Super Charged. Added Nos (40) and non power upgrades. Set driving aids to 0/0/4, and Ballast weight to maximum - not necessary, but I couldn't be bothered to adjust it for each different lineup.

Look for any lineup including the TVR Speed 12 in the pack but not on pole position. Using the NOS off the line can easily get you past the Speed 12 before it clears the pack. Then either block him or use the rest of the Nos to run from him. Either way, very easy races for 200 points.

How do you stop the Ram from spinning ? I use the Ram on several road races & even find myself facing the wrong way in them , but usually far enough ahead to recover. LOL :ouch:

I use ballast set to 50-125 on pavement, 100-150 on dirt, and 150 on ice, always set to full rear bias. On pavement, use softer tires on the rear than the front.

I had wised up to the softer tyres on rear , but will try the ballast .Many thanks

Hi folks, its been a while since my last visit here. Many weeks ago I decided to redo the F1 series for 200 A-spec pts. per race and here are my notes of those races. All of the races are as clean as possible (some accidental touches). I hope some of the info here is useful to you. :)

Vash666 - Good to see you back at GTP. A great set of races you got there 👍
Really interesting that you have used the Pesco/ Judd - I would never have thought of it.

i am wondering if any-one can assist me. i have completed all spec condition races on all three levels for 200 each. (mainly using the ram, sorry) but i am having trouble with george hard both ways. for some reason just can't get the ram to catch, let alone pass anything. i have all power upgrades and have played with the settings as much as i can but the blasted thing just wont go any faster than about 200 k-ph down the main straight and i should be able to get a lot more speed than that.

if any-one could provide any tips, tuning (of ram), or car alternative, it would be surely appreciated.

thanks in advance.
