It's funny, I've only just noticed this thread today, and just half an hour before I noticed it, I'd only just re-downloaded and re-installed google earth since I reformatted my hard drive a couple of weeks back.
Anyhow, here's a bit of info about where I live, where my family lives and where I've been etc.
To start off, here's my home. The line of trees is where the old railway line to Londond used to run. At the top of the street to the west there's a great Chinese take away. I've recently had to spend time chopping up a tree that fell down in our back garden. So there's one tree less in the garden now.
This is where my high school was and is. The school used to be where the car park and entertainment complex are now, instead of behind them. It was knocked down and rebuilt the year after I left. I used to sneak out of school through the ro of trees at the bottom of the school, then across a field (provided there was no classes on there doing and PE) and then I'd get onto a footpath by the river Mersey.
This is the Armitage center. It's a sports complext where I play football, sometimes I just go and play badminton, or table tennis as well.
This is a local tennis court just around the corner from my local pub. They filmed a couple of scenes from an episode of Life on Mars here, they filmed most of that series not far from my house. I used to play Tennis, but I screwed up my left ankle pretty badly. I don't play it now because of the hard surfaces. I only get by playing football because I grin and bear the pain that I get sometimes from my ankle. I tell you what, I sypathise with David Beckhams burrent injury problem, I went over on my ankle 7 weeks ago, it's still not healed from that.
This is the office I'm based at, though my work takes me to Liverpool pretty regualrly as we have offices there. I also spend a lot of time in Manchester, we meet a lot of clients in hotel conference rooms. Additionall there a Jaguar delaerhip opposite, so there's always some nice cars on show.
This is Sunset bay in Torviscas, Tenerife, my parents used to own a timeshare apartment here, they bought it back when timeshares were value for money. In the end the maintenence prces went up so much you could arrange a holidy without the timeshare for the same price and maybe less. It was a nice complex though, we went there about 5 times when I was in school.
This is the area form a bit further out. In the row of restaurantes there was an Aberdeen Steak house that wasn't far along, it was great value for money. We went there so many times that the head waiter kept remembering us every time we went back on holiday there.
This is the tenerife Karting track, I went there a few times. It was quite a good lenth for a karting track, most of them are quite short.
This is Puerto Rico, on Gran Canaria, another of the Canary Islands. I went there a couple of years ago with a group of mates and Charlotte. We had a good time but for 2 weeks you covered everything, so I wouldn't go again. At the Europa center they had a restaurante therecalled the Barbacoa and they had live acts on each night. Some of them were professionals. Probably the best one we saw was a group who were covering The Beatles. They were on for 4 hours and they did really well. One thing I never get, is why do people flock to McDonalds, and other places when there on holiday. It's the last place I'd want to eat. Mind you, it's not far up on the list over here for me eitherway.
My parents live in Manchester, but my mum was born and raised in Mansfield and besides my partents and my dads brother, the rest of my family still live over there. This is where my aunt and uncle live, it's a nice house called Rivendell cottage. They also own the horse paddocks at the back, they let them out to people, they don't own any horses themselves.
and last but by no means least, I present you with the location where my third car, a SEAT Ibiza, died. I had a trip through Europe, I intended to go further but the death of my car cut it short and I came home. That was late 2004, I quit my job, went on a trip through Europe, which lasted 6 weeks before the car suicided itself. I drove through France, I checked out Monaco, I drove through Spain, into Portugal, then back into Spain, stopping off at places along the way. It was a great trip despite the loss.
I might go into more detail of certain times, or stuff I haven't mentioned in this post when it's not the early hours of the morining.
