How can i retort to that statement.....I know, just go to Wikipedia and look up words that are derogortory!!!lol Listen I dont want to start trouble with you or anyone about who's wrong or right about GT(as you say agree to disagree) but people should be allowed to voice their opinions on anything GT without condemnation...it is a forum after all.Besides if we were out in a club/bar/social gathering and someone voiced an opinion that i didnt agree with, I'd tell them that i disagree (stating why) and move on.If they were a total idiot and didnt see things my way, I wouldnt converse with them anymore (so as not to cause a scene).Lifes to short.Lets just talk GT, after all we share a common passion so we should be mates:tup:
Sadly, some people resort to personal insults and/or assumptions about the person they reply to, instead of offering their counter opinion as to why you might be wrong. They'll just call you an idiot, or say you are overreacting and missleading people. or just say that evrything you say is false even though they have no counterpoint or evidence to support this claim.
But this is the case evrywhere i suppose, people need to get used to hearing critique. Which in this case isn't even related to them but somehow they feel obligued to come out with shield and sword to defend it in childish ways.
This is just a game we're talking about, i can't imagine just how bad some of these people would get if this were a religious topic instead.
Then i keep getting told i shouldn't question opinions because i should respect them even if they're wrong.
I don't in religious topics, and i'm not about to start here.
If i think something might be wrong with an opinion i'm not afraid to point it out. I'm not out to get the person, just the argument i disagree with.
I said it before, this isn't some dinner table where it's bad manners to bring up topics that might offend someone, this is actually an area that encourages discussion.
Details details details...you are paying attention to unnecessary details. Sift through the clutter and find clarity mate. You should see that it is quite plain. The bottom line is determined by ear, plain and simple.
What I say is based upon dozens of videos I watch on YouTube of cars. Even if a particular video has a modified car, why is it that there is never a situation where a car can sound like that in Gt4? or if a video has a bias towards any of the points you mentioned for that matter. The demo is no different, there isn't even any violent rush of noise as a full grid of cars passes by, just like Gt4. And I definetly shouldn't need some elaborate audio system to hear an improvement like that. It should be evident on a very mediocre TV for it to be a legitimate next-gen improvement, since you'd hear the proper essence of the sound on a televised racing event on the same mediocre TV.
The teasers are all you need, it should seem plain to you. You actually hear the violent scream as the cars drive by. Thanks to PD, teasers are very much a tease.
I have to agree with you, the difference is so obvious that you don't actually need an advanced sound system just to realize how different real cars sound from any GT game.
And to the people pointing out "well, they might be modified! and youtube is comprssed!"
You are missing the point, ENTIRELY. (and it's come to a point i'm not surprised.)
The difference is so obvious that even a crappy compressed video can show you just how different the sound is, and if that's not enough just fire up any episode of best motoring and compare the sounds to any car you can compare it to in GT5/4.
And if that doesn't do it just go outside and listen to cars go by, the difference is overwhelming.
It really doesn't take much time to realize just how different they are.
It is extremley evident that PD is still using very similar or the same methods for GT5 sound as they've used in the past.
a 7.1 system is not going to somehow remedy a problem that comes form the source.
We're probably gonna get insulted somehow for this point of view, and they probably won't even bother actually looking to what we're pointing towards to see if we're right or not.
To those people, before you do reply. can you please run those simple tests?
As i assure you, audio fidelity will have little to no impact in your ability to percive just how different GT4-5 sounds from real cars or other sims. (i really think is that obvious.)
I would think there's not even room for discussion as the difference seems so obvious to me and others here, but of course in wrong about that.
And yes, i think by now we all know GT5

is a work in progress and that this might change by the time GT5 final comes out.
I really wish this were true and i'll be pleseantly surprised if it turns out they make them better. I'm personally not that optimistic regarding this matter.
But for now, i don't think there's anything wrong with the people that say that they are underwhelmed with the sounds in GT5, at it's current state.
