Raiden:

Oh, this car is quite special. Where did you get that acceleration from? I haven’t tried your 4wd cars before but this is just bloody ridiculous. I don’t want to keep on about the transmission, but second through to fourth are amazing. It just feels like you own the road, that you can shorten a corner by dropping or raising a gear.

In my first testing notes I recorded that the car suffers from instability when decelerating from high speed (eg, entering a hairpin after a straight), but this is not in the second set of notes so may be due to excessive drunkenness. Also, you need to be careful when applying acceleration while cornering or exiting to avoid understeer.

This car can be a bit twitchy at high speeds, but now I’m just looking for things to fault it on. In my humble opinion it is close to faultless, but still needs a fairly skilled driver.

Baron:

I love your version of this car.

Every time I do a review I ride it stock, then with mods plus default, then with my own setup, then the full tune. I only mention this ‘cause I tried this car a few months ago and absolutely hated it. At the time I compared this car to a donkey with amphetamine psychosis: it’s quick but unpredictable, stubborn, and as ugly as a fatal accident.

After testing it’s just a dream. I wouldn’t call it super-fast, especially just after testing Raiden, but there’s so much style in this setup. It is great fun to drive, with a perfect combination of grip and slide. This is surely one of the best cars to drive if you’re not looking for brilliant times, just a really fun ride.

Thanks for two awesome cars, I’ve got one or two more reviews still to be written up when I get the time.

Acceleration and quick reaction to steering were the themes of this car. I had to use FC LSD since the AYC just feels wrong to me. Instability under braking was an issue in my older Evo/Impreza setups, and I believe it was due wrong spring/damper rates combined with bad brake balance. I made this car to compete with the likes of Zondas etc, and that it does. Maybe not in terms of top speed or price but in overall performance.

Thankies! I have to admit that I wasn't fully happy with this setup myself, but if it works for you, I'm satisfied with the results. feel free to PM me your request(s).

And now a notice from MFT:

we4're going to keep on muscle car line for one pair longer before going for something else. Next pair is made out of the most insane musclecars ever made, one is crazy and fast as a bat out of hell, other is bit more enjoyable to drive while it is exactly same car, just a bit heavier.

Shelby and AC Cobra?:sly:

I've noticed that Aussie Tuners was way ahead of its time. We were about to do a whole line of muscle cars before we closed down, and now shortly after everyone is doing muscle cars.;) Good ol' AT, it's a shame business dropped below levels of operational capacity.

No, not everyone is doing muscle cars.

Hell, I've only done them on request. ;)

AT's level of business didn't drop out, either... You did. You put out one car and then ran away to run TLD. (The last car released is multiple pages back...)

You failed us. AT would still have business if it was still alive, but nooo, you had to run to GT5:P.

Go back to your PS3-powered $39.99 demo. :P

^^oh i see.., the car that you did was a regular EK9, i'm requesting for the Spoon version.., AND since you like Civics so much ;) i'd like you to tune it for me.., i want all of these factors in my car:

-eliminate as much wheelspin and understeer as possible
**must be faster than stock version whilst having minimal wheelspin (no oil change please :))
**reduced understeer especially at high speeds
-feel free to use all available tuning options (suspension, LSD, tranny, even the ballast)

this is my favorite car, for me this car is the best.., and i want only the best to tune it for me.., 👍

*edit: the second factor for the Spoon tune :D

I think we would all like that mate! Probably easier said than done though ;)

Well, I have two versions now.. one with stock power, and one with 276bhp.. both on S3's. The stock powered one is about 2-3 seconds faster than it was without tuning (parts equipped), making 2'12s.. and the 276bhp one is even faster, doing low 2'08s now. I managed to kill most of the understeer and wheelspin. Would either one of you two want to give it a try?

:sly:

Now go back to AT, and tell me how many cars we released from most recent and going back before you find a review of one. But hell, it doesn't matter, when all you guys join the full GT5 (sooner or later it will happen), we'll all be at each other's throats again over whose tune is the best.:sly:

PS- Maybe I should turn GT4 back on, and start releasing all the cars that never made it, like the 600hp truck that ran 1'58 on GVS and was easier to drive than most 400hp cars.💡

PPS- Hey MFT, this is just an idea, but have you ever thought of using some of the V8 sedans from around the world and making them race cars to challenge the V8 Supercars? That's what I'm going to do in GT5, I'm going to turn countless V8 RWD sedans from around the world into "Global V8 Supercars" and then hold a race series titled as such. It might be nice to see which were fastest in GT4 though, but I guess there weren't too many V8 RWD sedans in GT4, especially ones capable of 650hp.

I've noticed that MFT was way ahead of its time. We pioneered a new type of tuner garages, and now shortly after everyone has one.

Touché, don't you think? :D

As a matter of fact that "everyone" is two garages out of the n+1 out there and our first muscle car saw the light of day in last July so I might just say something about being ahead but I won't. And it's not about who makes them, but how they are made. I have yet to see someone else making, for example, a 'Cuda that can humiliate cars 16 times more expensive.

About the V8 sedans, they are indeed seriously rare. We have the Chrysler 300C and FPV GT already, the Pontiac GTO might fit in too, only a couple of Mercedes models and the Commodore left.

My cars were plenty fast (if you remember, in many tuner challenges I had the fastest cars, but handling was always winning in the easy and slow cars). My Cobra could beat the best supercars, and drift while doing it.:dopey: The GTO's not really a sedan. I wish I didn't have to go to work every day, (i.e. I wish I had an infinite bank account), because then I could spend time here in GT4 still, but I stay up too late as it is trying to make time for everything else Ido.

Fast indeed but that's not much of a miracle seeing that you fielded a lot more capable cars like a nearly 600 bhp Corvette against my 331 bhp Stratos - which, as a side note, only won by about half a second - and you can hardly say Europa and Stratos (both class winners back then) are "easy and slow" but whatever. ;)

I could say my muscle cars can beat some Le Mans racers and drift while doing it, and not even lie, which alone should tell something. Tomorrow will see the release of the last one for a while and it'll suitably be the fastest one too. Once again showing what Mad means. :sly:

Oh, when the full GT5 comes, it is on.:sly:

Edit: My GNX was much more capable was it? After the first challenge (which I foolishly entered a CIEN), I never left the podium.;)

:sly:

hmm, it'd better have less wheelspin, i tried tuning one with 276hp also, it won't stop lighting up the tires. don't send it to me yet, i'll wait for Greycap's tune.., :)

@ Greycap - if you're done with the Spoon, don't send the settings to me yet, i'll send my settings to you first.., :)

oh, in case no one has noticed......,

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MFT !! you guys have reached yet another great milestone, congratulations :cheers:

We might just have a confusion here. There's no Spoon tune from me, I was referring to the one I knew Leo had made some time ago. The one you're going to get is probably based on that setup.

About the anniversary, we know. thanks! :D The birthday present will be out later today.

^Oh.

*keeps quiet for 5 minutes*

i remember saying that i would like you, Greycap, to tune the Spoon EK9 for me. ah well, i'd like to see how Leo tuned it..,

*waits patiently for the "birthday present" * :)

Oddly enough I don't. Your post said:
so, are you Finns ready for my request car?? well, the car is already in front of you.

please highlight text

it's the car in my avatar 👍
so I thought you just want it from one of us, no matter which. You also said "the car that you did was a regular EK9, i'm requesting for the Spoon version" which sidetracked me even more as the EK9 was Leo's work too, not mine. Having said that there's no reason why I can't make one but it'll take a while.

And the time has arrived. Now we shall reveal the ultimate king of concrete jungles and drag strips. Lo and Behold, the only true supercar of 60's has arrived, and will soon be followed by it's lesser, mild-mannered cousin.

We have cars that are fast and demanding to drive. We also have cars that are fast and hard to drive. And then we have this. The car that wasn't sold on hire purchase because the Shelby company knew they would never get all their money. The car that was described to handle like a flying brick. The most gruelling and raw of all the American muscle cars, the immortal Shelby Cobra 427.

Stripped of all excess weight, of which there wasn't much to begin with, the car is as light on its feet as a ballerina. But this ballerina can really deliver a knock out blow thanks to the great Ford V8 in the engine compartment. Overhauled thoroughly and fitted with the best parts available the old big block takes the already formidable car to an entirely new level, rocketing it through the drag strip in less than ten seconds. The drivetrain is composed of whatever Shelby parts we could lay our hands on, the most interesting part being the gearbox that had a faint "...gring 65" stamp on it, probably a spare unit for the 1000 km race. The differential sports a separate cooler, sounds like a race part too. The suspension comes from a partly wrecked Daytona Coupe. We originally wanted to keep the original wheels but had to resort to modern ones after cracking two sets of rear wheels on the drag strip when testing a supercharger. The test data for that gadget is still in our archives, I'll give it to whomever wants it. Not recommended for track use due to the sudden increase in power but who am I to stop anyone!

This is out birthday present to you, people. If this one doesn't warrant the use of the word Mad in our name I don't know what does! :D

[slash]Why a racing exhaust?It makes it sound like a VTEC.[slash\]

Forgive me for sounding like an arse,I was upset over something.

I agree with killer ,it,s not supposed to sound like that. other then that i like it alot. i tried SC on it,2sets of wheels later. no sc. i,ll give it a 9/10 handles good stops on a dime. congrats on 1 year today.:scared::nervous:

don't whine to us about PD's decisions of recycling the sound files. full power is full power, and you can always turn the sound down and play the sound of proper american engine while driving. 💡

The sound problem is indeed an unfortunate thing but one can think which is more realistic, using a road exhaust on a 700 bhp car (that doesn't sound fully right even then) or using a race exhaust. The sound is actually quite good at low revs and the screaming kicks in higher in the powerband which leads me to another thing. Many people forget how racing V8 engines sound, they're not those rumbling street engines you're used to. Watch some NASCAR incar footage and tell me that sounds like a "proper" V8. It certainly doesn't.

Yes yes, you're just not the only one who has said that - it happens every single time we release a V8 engined car. Someone always decides to play the same card. Now I have a post to point to, makes my future life easier. :P

Happy One Year Anniversary MFT! I have to try out the Cobra soon

:indiff:

I wasn't saying the car sucks because of the exhaust or anything, its a great car and I will reveiw it soon,I was just saying, it makes it sound like a VTEC.

You noticed?

The only "race" vehicles that sound like "proper V8s" are 1960s-era. Why don't the 1960s cars get that, you say? Well, we're tuning them as we can NOW, not then. The 60s race cars on the other hand... Go listen to one!

Don't you listen to:
DTM cars
V8 Supercars
GT1 Cars
Monaro 427 Bathurst 24hr winner??

Race exhausts in this game are quite off the mark, you can't hide a roaring V8 with an exhaust, it will only make it louder and throatier.:sly:

show me a thing that isn't off the mark in this game. (btw, Z06 is better to drive than Viper in GT5P, but far from being good to drive)
