Well, I'm always fiddling with the settings and loosing some good ones in the process, and sometimes people ask me what kind of setup I use, so I decided to post them here.

Usually it's lightweight oversteer stuff, and you can expect some odd tire combos, and frequent updates to the setups.

Current (but old) tunes:

Audi R8 HSR 600PP (S tires)
Honda Integra Type R (550 Fuji FWD event - PB 1.51.4xx)
TVR Speed 6 (550 Suzuka RWD event)
Ferrari 512BB - Daytona 550PP (S3)
Mustang V8 - Daytona 550PP (S3)
Jaguar XK - Daytona 550PP (S3)
Aston Martin DB9 - Daytona 550PP (S3)
TVR Tuscan Speed 6 - Daytona 550PP (S3)
Honda NSX Type-R - Daytona 550PP (S3)
Nissan Skyline Coupe 370 - Daytona 550PP (S3)


As soon as I get my hands on GT5, these will be moved to another post as GT Prologue tunes, and new ones will be posted since I expect the new physics to change these dramatically.

1st up, the TVR Tuscan Speed 6 '00!

It's a bold move, and a real insane setup. Or maybe not! You be the judge of it...

Tuned for Suzuka 550pp RWD event, features S3 tires and a "turn in" you won't believe. Short shift around (never use 2nd unless you loose momentum into the corner; 3rd in T2, the S, 4th early out of Dunlop, 3rd out of Degner and Spoon) and play the rest by earedit: use Tzayad's instead! And that is a pleasure, what a sound...!

Well that's a good suggestion 👍 It's not a very used car, with a minimum setup we can use in the private event. Thanks, I'll look into it.

Easy to setup... :)

As usual, very easy to turn in and go round the corners nicely with throttle control. And in offline, power slide them all :)

A 3 gear tune. Use from 2nd to 4th normally. Shortshift T1,3,5 and 6 in 2nd. Keep it above or around 100kph in T1, 80 in T3, 90 in T5 and 95 in T6.
The bus stop is all 3rd and try to enter around +170kph hold 160 though inside corners but don't over do it and sacrifice last corner and the exit speed (+180) to allow good speed in the last long straight part of the lap.

Note: take a few (+/-5) Kph from the above if using heavier settings marked (*).

Easy to setup... easy to drive. Lots of traction out of the corners, good turn in, good brakes, ends ups being a bit boring!

Slower than it's cousin, the Jag XK (1 sec a lap), due to stronger limitations on power/weight to get it to respect 500PP, it's easier to drive and be consistent, has great handling and sound, so a very valid choice 👍

Here's another smooth ride. Only problem is the weight, making it's cornering speed a bit under it's abilities. R1's could solve, but that would mean more weight to keep under 550PP. And I don't use that at all in Daytona 550, top speed and acceleration is the essence here.
 
hornet_burnout, I can't help but notice your Daytona Road 550pp settings all have a LOT of tire. Are these tunes meant to have the tire selection 'whittled down' by the user after getting used to the car? All my tunes run much less grip, as the straight line speed is worth it in overall lap time.

You mean S3 every time? It's mostly because of the Daily Cup event. I didn't bother even considering other tires, but most of these cars could easily go with S2 or S1. On the other hand, in race conditions, S3 and slipstream make a very good partnership ;) I enjoyed it immensely last night with each of these cars.

Ok, thanks. I run less tire specifically for the ability to pass after using the slipstream...

Think I'll have to try more of these.

I usually use the slipstream to keep up and then the extra grip for the classic late brake overtake. Not much FR camber and low strength allows you to really smash the brakes late.

OK. I have run S3s on occasion, the classic outbraking is good. But, not enough power to stay in slipstream sometimes. And certainly not enough power to stay in front while some S1 runner is in your slipstream.
 
It depends where you do it. When you do it into T1 or the bus stop (and fly through it above 160k, that's 100mph), they will not be able to keep up and be on your stream in the straight parts of the track, where I usually loose one or two tenths. If it's a very fast driver then he may just do enough to get in the stream and get you in the end of the straight. And in that case, you have great battle changing positions all race long :)

I'm recently thinking I may throw my '01 NSX (now that it runs 2:01s on S1/S2 mix) back onto S3/R1 mix, just to see what happens. :)
 
My NSX is far from perfect and I think I did 2.00 in free run. Not sure... I'll check later ;)

And you really do not need R's with it IMO
 
NSX: 2.01.1 with a few mistakes :) And still need to get it a bit more under control. This can go under 2min on S3, and without cutting the corners on the bus stop... I've seen some unbelievable short cutting these days...

Yeah, I did a single race earlier today, all three other racers cut the chicane entry.
 
Tried S2 and they use the NSX potential to it's best, allowing more acceleration (speed) in the straights. Easier to do 2.01.low, but easier to loose it as well :)

Nearly same here. My 'best' time goes down say, .5 sec when I downgrade tires one level.

Staying on the paved bit gets harder...
