I've had enough of these threads that I will begin to log them into one rather then create a new thread everytime I want to share some adventure with ya'll. I'm really trying to figure out how my camera works and If you see good, bad and the ugly, just let me know what I can do to improve my shots.

This adventure starts with a train ride in the mountains of Colorado. The Golden color of the Aspens make for some great backdrops.

The yellow/green is ridiculously gorgeous. I notice a shortage of red foliage, though.

I should take the boys on a drive around the park. Hopefully it's not past it's prime. Edit: Apparently late September to early October is best. Perilously close, me thinks.

yeah...we don't get much red at all in colorado.

The red on my bike makes up for it.

Your composition and metering is really good, but none of the shots in the first post are really sharp. The bike shots are better in that respect.

If you're keen on photography you're good enough at it that you should be using a dSLR. Your ability appears to be outstripping that of your kit.

I think the resizing and the compression I did made them not as sharp as the originals.

I really need to take a class to learn how to use the camera that I currently have before I jump in to dSLR land. So far there are so many auto settings that make it easy to get a good shot. With understanding my manual settings I think I could really do wonders with this camera.

I see that I am not the only person who breaks the no electronic items during take off and landing on a plane rule.

I have 30 or so of us in flight of many things along the way. I hate getting stuck be hind those engines and the jet wash messin up mah pictures. I do it though on almost every flight I take and have never been asked to put the camera away.

Soooo....every summer, a little group in Boulder Colorado like to saddle up for a good cause. This is a regular even for my girlfriend but for me this is a virgin year.

Whats the name of that event with the tricycles? It looks very similar to something we have over here called Bike Party, and Critical Mass. Except they're with bikes. Looks to be in the same sort of spirit though. Website for it?

What does a guy with a truck do when the Truck Fest comes to town?

He takes his baby to the track to see what she's got of course!

Long lines of trucks at 7:30 am already. 623 trucks was the total from what I hear

Picking out a good pit spot for the mighty Ram was very important.

Just Chillin before I get to put in some time trials

This truck runs low 10's at about 130mph. Hot damn thats fast!

A sampling of anything and eveything that ran during the day.

If you have ever wondered why I bought a yellow truck then this picture says it all.

This is me lined up for my second time trial. I ran a 17.822 at 79.43 mph on the first.

"Imma givin her all shes got captn"

hummm...not bad. I ran about a tenth faster then the first go round.

Now its time for the real deal...ELIMINATIONS!!! The temp was cooling off and there was a slight tail wind so I pick 17.50 as my dial in. I was hoping to run a 17.6xxx and I added some slight breathing room.

I'm lined up next to a suv with a supercharged 427 and has a dial in of 12.90! Holy five second head start.

I feel like I hit a good light which turned out to be a .258 for those keeping track at home. It's hooking up nicely but I see him gaining on me fast.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! This guy runs a 12.91 on a 12.90! And to make things worse he cuts a light of .013, nearly purfect! I'd been watching hillbilly rednecks break out and run 2 seconds slower then there dial in time and my first round has to be against MR PURFECT?! I really thought I had a chance to do well because I only had 2 tenths between my fastest and slowest run of the day. Oh well, It was a great day and loads of fun to be out on the track.

Yeah...that thing was a beast as it roared by me. There isn't anything to matching people up other then the order you line up in the staging area. Its that simple, they don't look at times or anything.

Once a year here in Denver but it would seem like other tracks might have something similar. There was a van or two out there having fun.
