I've gone even more minimal than usual, I find this very soothing of an evening;

Thanks 👍

I've checked out Desktopography, but it's far too fancy for my liking. The website is full of amazing photography but then these Photoshop-designs are added which goes way over my borderline of being beautiful and simple. As for Deviantart, there are so many fine peices submitted everyday it gets pretty hard to follow everything.

Funny you should mention that, I've just been through the widescreen collection on DeviantArt and filled a quarter of my desktop with files to use as wallpapers!

I've got a seperate folder under "My Documents" containing 35 Mb of wallpapers...

Easily my favourite, like, ever. Nature is changing colour now so I thought my desktop should also. Finally found some good autumn wallpapers at Deviantart, but I love this combo. Definitly staying for a while.

No seriously, it will :P

Nice. Personally I'm getting abit sick of all the landscapes and deviantart work I see everywhere. I'm trying to distance myself from those and go for plain old good photography.

Now watch my next desktop have a landscape on it. I know it will happen, I don't want it too but it always comes back to such nice landscape pictures.

Exactly. I always say to myself that I'm going for a nice portrait widescreen, or a nice abstract vector wallpaper, but it never is good enough for me. It's always those landscapes that look best on a desktop.

I just checked mine and without the new stuff it currently contains 415mb! Not all of them fit correctly anymore though.

Well I held off this time.

Maybe next time a landscape will capture me. And your wallpaper collection is pathetic, mines currently running at 1GB and thats not including the cars folder, of which I hardly ever use anymore.

I've always loved that picture. Quite neat how you managed the icons around it and such, very clean and unique.

Pfft, yours will probably contain the unscaled original images that are 2560 pixels wide :P

I only store those I use.

Not at all. I usually store images 1 resolution higher than my tiny 1024x600 netbook screen will take. It makes them sharper when they are scaled down to the required res instead of being at the required res.

Gaia09? 👍

Great looking Rainmeter skin, but I never seem to manage to find a suitable backdrop for it. Do you use xml.weather feed or accuweather?

Yeah Gaia can be a pain to match up stuff with. The weather is from a different skin called Uixx which uses Accuweather.

Had to go back to XP since my RC install crapped out on me, and I have to be honest, I just don't care anymore - not with all of this customization at hand. 👍

Definately that picture is so nice.

I'm debating the Macbook purchase, the against is the price, are they really worth the cost and the for arguement is that I use them at college so it would help streamline stuff, I think anything I move onto in the future will probably invlove Macs too so it would work out for the long run.

Macbooks are indeed really good, but don't get cocky once you've got one. One of the guys in my engineering class has one, and he's such a cocky dude because he's one of few who's got a Macbook. He basically fires up apps and leaves all of his windows open while not using it at all with the screen turned away from him towards everyone else.

Next time you see him, calmly walk up to his Macbook and press Ctrl + Alt + Cmd/Option + 8.

Then see what he does.

That picture is super nice. Source?

As for a Macbook... hmm. It is tempting sometimes, I won't like about it either.
