I wonder if with "Locations" they mean "Countries", and if with "60 variations" they mean "60 variations in addition to tracks with no variations". Otherwise there wouldn't be many tracks in this game, if those from past games are to return.

Every day I watch in awe at weather and temperatures of those (21?) locations in GT5P main menu...

OVER 20 tracks, stop assuming its only 20 tracks. Also when you include Nascar tracks that gives you over 10 rings.

You also forgot Spa.

Is it confirmed?
Source?

I'm sure there will be more than 20 tracks in GT5. 20 locations probably means countries and there will be many tracks in every country. And all fantasy tracks are probably one country.

Also, you forgot EI Captain. So that's 18 conformed, 2 unknown. So I doubt there will be 20 tracks. Probably more like 40 or so.

I'm banking on "locations" being like "Japan" "USA" "UK" "GT Original Courses" etc etc, and the rally and nascar courses will all be within countries that already have some road courses - just be considered "variations" ..

But if the "60 variations" include reverse versions of the original GT courses then we're in trouble. I hate those reverse versions.

Kaz says I'll be overwhelmed, I believe him.

I can almost guarantee that's what they mean.

20 locations = countries

60 variations = tracks located within those countries

I really REALLY hope these tracks are in the game:

Autumn Ring
Deep Forest
Special Stage Route 5
Citta di Aria
Costa di Amalfi
Cote d'Azur

I'll really miss them if they're not, they're so awesome :nervous:

El capitan is confirmed?

20 locations hopefully does mean countries (with GT only tracks being classed as all in 1 location?) however 70 variations is a bit rubbish, it makes me think that there will be about 35 tracks, each with 2 variations (fwd and reverse, or ring and road) apart from some tracks that may have only 1 variation (like the TG test track)

I'd like 100 tracks with several variations on some (PGR4 has about 5 types of nurburgring circuit, such as the F1 track combined with the green hell) but that aint gonna happen cos PD dont care about track count clearly.

Main point to take away form the 20/70 wording is....PD are terrible at translation/wording and are keeping too much hidden from the gamers. If they mean 20+ countries why don't they use the word countries

If there are indeed 60 variations including base versions and variations of real life tracks (which did never have a "reverse" variation in GT games, but often offered very slightly different versions, for example Fuji or La Sarthe in GT4) and reverse versions of fantasy tracks, then indeed there aren't many tracks.

For example:
Clubman Stage R5 + Reverse
Special Stage R5 + Reverse

Would these count as 4 tracks/variations?

Is a country not a location?

Personally, I'd be surprised if they let us know so many of the tracks so early before release. I expect a confirmed list before release, but not yet.

You'd have to be stupid to believe that ll the GT fantasy tracks won't be back. Can you really imagine a GT without Trial Mountain? :P

I've just been wondering actually, purely blind speculation here of course, but surely they wouldn't start making new tracks (such as Indianapolis etc) unless they already had all the old tracks from GT4 in the game already?

I'm pretty sure you're right.

When game companies tend to say something like, "over XX whatever", it generally means that there's probably only going to be a couple more than that or so, not a lot.

With that, having 20-something countries sounds about right for the amount of famous race tracks & GT's own. But, we'll also have to wait & see.

YES. El Capitan is in GT5! One of favourite track in GT4. Beautiful environment and challenging layout(remember the jump :) )

Here's what I'm talking about. I just made this list based on GT4, GT5P weather map, recent news and dreams. Also I'm trapped at my mothers house on Christmas.

So far I've counted 13 "locations" and 53 "Variations." What I consider a "Variation" is probably wishful thinking. If it was accurate in any way, it could mean wonderful things for us. Of course this list is missing this and that and nothing is confirmed, but looking at it makes me feel better about the "20 locations and 60 variations" statement.

Locations: 13
Variations: 53
Variations of variations (lol): Could be a lot counting multiple rally stages, reversed GT original courses.
