If you can find it on the net it's definitely worth a read. It's a visual comic/manga like 0083, except it's not in comic book form (not that I can remember anyway). That, and AOZ. đź‘Ť

I'm feeling interested about it, but not quite interested enough to go searching the net for it, as I'm posting at a pc station at uni, without a chair :P What's the series like? What do you like about it? What is Gally like as a character? I know this is kind of sudden, but it's kind of a long story, and I thought we could use some discussion on some lesser-well-known anime/manga :)

Gunnm, also known as Battle Angel Alita, is actually a very famous manga, but it’s been a while now. It’s been going almost 10 years, story and amazing art by Yukito Kishiro.

It centers around Gally, who is a cyborg girl that suffers from amnesia, rescued from the scrapyard by a cyber-doctor named Daisuke Ido, who rebuilds her. She doesn’t remembers even her name, but she has an outlandish natural ability to fight that is the only link to her past. Thus, she will fight in SEVERAL scenarios to try to find out who she is and why she was all of a sudden discovered in a scrap yard.

The series is a MASTERPIECE of cyberpunk. I’ve said this before here but I don’t mind at all saying it again: Gunnm is the best comic (notice I say comic, not manga) I have ever read. The character development is outstanding, the art is like nothing you’ve ever seen, the fighting sequences are absolutely amazing and the fantasy world in which it all develops is all-involving. Side-stories are cool as well. It’s very violent, very sad at times, it also has its wtf moments, but nothing that detracts from the experience.

There were two OVAs made in… damn, I think it was around 2000 or so, they were well made but they don’t even begin to scratch the surface of the world of Gunnm. If you’re gonna get into it, by all means read the manga first. I can’t recommend it enough.

EDIT: Let’s in fact post our Anime Song of the Day, it’s the ending to the Gunnm ovas, Cyborg Mermaid. To be sincere, I don’t even remember who sings it… I think it was Kaori Akima or something like that, it’s not like there is much of a soundtrack to two OVAs, but the song is pretty good, very old school typical too-sentimental anime theme.

AyJay read Battle Angel Alita. I'm not far into it myself but it is interesting so far. I saw the OVA years ago and loved it but 2 episodes just isn't enough...

BTW, I'm up to Episode 24 of NGE now. I have a good grasp on what's happening, seeing as it only took me 1 viewing to understand Inception.

There are many other Gally pics I love, but I’d have to raid the manga to find them (specially of the “Tuned” time arc), and I don’t have much time now. ‘sides, if I start looking at the manga, I’ll end up reading it all again and I don’t have the time… sadly.

That's not an accomplishment. Inception was easy to understand. Maybe that's because I'm used to getting head****ed sideways.

Lol, I was asking for the R33's for an avatar to reflect my enthusiasm for the Skylines, but anyway, I think the one you made is more related to Wangan Midnight, so I'm still contented. :)

What I'm not contented with is the turtle-slow connection I'm having, what a hassle to change avatars. :grumpy:

Come up? Like have that idea to crunch 3 face together? It's not timed or anything, if the idea comes up, it just does... finding images that'll fit in those slots takes much more time... This took me roughly a day to do, as I recall announcing that I started like 23 hours ago...

I already have another idea involving 3 pictures. Think "Marvel 3 Win Quote". With it I know a way to make the Premium avatars more outstanding than the regulars... just not sure if images will get too small though.
 
Animated images? LONG time ago, buddy... My last one was animated, my other BRS was too... It's just extremely difficult if not impossible to get decent quality gifs on GTP due to the size limit.... It's only easy for the Pony pics (like I've seen in the past) because there's very little colors used in pony drawings...
