Mine was "Light". My parents have no idea why I said it. Apparently I just sort of announced it, apropos of nothing.

I can't actually remember myself. If those were the actual words I said first then I am awesome :D I know I could read well from a young age though.

My parents think it was "sign" for me; they claim I didn't speak until a little after my second birthday.

My daughter's first word was "daddy", and she was 10 months old. I was beyond ecstatic to experience and witness it firsthand.

My son hasn't spoken yet, just a few shrieks and giggles so far.

Edit: He said "mommy" as his first word.

Porsche. Yup, Porsche. About 12 1/2 years ago, I said that when we went shopping, and we passed by the car isle. I pointed at them, and my dad took me over there. He showed me one called a Porsche. Then I just said Porsche. Simple story.

It was never related to me what my first spoken word was (except that I didn't start speaking until I could speak in sentences...), but the first word I read out loud was "Stop".

Apparently we were driving along and 18 month old Famine announced "STOP!". It was written on the road at a mandatory stop junction. I'm told this caused some minor driving panic...

As I was told by my parents, my first word (spoken just before my 2nd Birthday) was Nina. It was the name of our dog then, who was my best friend apparently.

Still like to find out who fed her poison when I was 5.
Or maybe not. I'd surely do something really stupid if I ever found out...

Did you say Porsh or Porsh-uh?

My first word was "Yuck!", probably in response to my mothers cooking!

My niece has recently made a big name for herself amongst the family by saying 'exquisite' while looking at a sunset (Not hugely impressive as my niece spends a lot of time with my nan, who uses the word 'exquisite' more than the word 'and').

I'll be impressed when the little big-shot can spell 'exquisite'!

Are we just trying to get everyone's security questions now?

According to my parents, my first word was... "car". It seems that even back then, I was a car fan. :D

"Car" was also my first word, well my parents told me it was anyway. Apparently I always used to say it whenever I saw my dad's Ford Orion MK I.

Not sure if my first one was "Pachycephalosaurus" or "Hippopopopotamus." I think it may have been the latter.

Or, if you count it as a word, what I would always say when I got home after riding in the car with my Mom... "Vrrrrroooooooom..."

I'm taking notes.

Gottit. Gotitt! Gottitt??!

My Mom says that was what I first said, and kept saying over and over to everybody I met. Anyone who visited was greeted with "Got It??"

I wasn't there when this happened. I only remember being there after around three or so, but apparently this is what I said first while toddling around mouthing off for the first time.

I still freak my Mom out by saying "Got it?" in a baby voice around her.

TG, I learned a few more words after that. Like "Take it!" and "Leave it!" And so on . . .

"Dong." Second word was a repeat of the first. Third was "Ding." My fourth word was a repeat of the first.

"Dong dong ding dong." That was my way of saying "Ice cream truck" I still crack up every time I say it
