What was your first word?

My parents think it was "sign" for me; they claim I didn't speak until a little after my second birthday.
It was never related to me what my first spoken word was (except that I didn't start speaking until I could speak in sentences...), but the first word I read out loud was "Stop".

Apparently we were driving along and 18 month old Famine announced "STOP!". It was written on the road at a mandatory stop junction. I'm told this caused some minor driving panic...
I was the same, but I didn't speak until just before my third birthday. My parents thought I was autistic, but they quickly got a different theory. We used to have these books called Little Golden Readers that my parents always used to read to me before bedtime. I don't remember them, but apparently I absolutely loved them. I wasn't autistic; I was trying to read the books. My first words came when I was reading for the first time. I was in the back seat of the car at the time, and my mother very nearly had an accident.

My first word was "papá" ("dad", not "daddy"). Surprisingly, I suppose, my father is the only person in the house I don't get along with it.

I have no idea about whatever word had I uttered for the first time since I was born, but probably I said "mom" pointing to her face with smile. :D

My first words were "see ya". My dad was leaving to go to the grocery store, said bye to my mom, and my mom said "see ya later". I mimicked what she said and that was my first word.

Transubstantiate.

Not really, I couldn't pronounce that today, sober and even after some practicing.

My first word was ma-ma, according to my mother and pa-pa as told by my father. :dopey:

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Actually, it was "car". While riding in a car.

No idea what my first word was but Jack's was ****. To start with we thought he may have been saying 'sit' but then noticed he was saying it everytime the stack of blocks he was building fell down.

No idea where he got that word from ;)

To start with we thought he may have been saying 'sit' but then noticed he was saying it everytime the stack of blocks he was building fell down.

My daughter started saying "Oh, sit" a lot when referring to people sitting down...it was funny at first, but we always received some awkward looks for a few months.

She had a decent vocabulary by then, so we convinced her to drop the "oh".

car pointing at a 87' grand national with many mods in eairly 96' it was my dads. it had over 400hp he said.

My first word was: Aeroplane
I used to live in London and I'd spend all day watching planes.
My first proper sentence was 'I Love You' LOL

According to my parents, my first word was... "car". It seems that even back then, I was a car fan. :D

My first word wasn't car, but I was a car fan. I only liked 1 car: My mum and dads Renault laguna. My car taste has matured since then.
