RKM Motorsport - Tuned Tuners - May '13

I was giggling too hard to reply...and yes, I am avoiding GT5 until the servers are up otherwise I might actually have to release some more tunes...or atleast work on some......and 5 cars you say? :embarrassed:

It's 6 now. They're old request cars I'm finally releasing. Some being released as-is, others given a polish.

Hooray! It means I can have another dig through my 400-ish cars and RKM-ify them some more :D if I reviewed all my RKM tuned cars I'd keep you busy for months on the other half of my collection :sly:

I am wondering what cars are next for tuning, and will there be a car that can get "RKM Overpowered"

Actually, I am one who takes cars from RKM, that aren't fully powered up, and give it some extra OOMPH with improvements, with a re-arranged transmission to get it full power, then I post them back on here for the racers who need that extra power.

Oooh, I see :dopey: I like the sound of that :D

Do you have any tunes that aren't completely powered and are not restricted by PP limits?

Quite a few actually, there are a couple I just never tuned fully and some I wanted low powered for a seasonal or an A-spec race... :D

I'm up to 7, I'm determined to make it 10 before I release the batch.
is my Lancer in that batch? I believe it isn't, but anyway, asking doesn't kill

Nope. Not even started your Lancer yet, although it won't take long to set it up once I get round to it.

Oooh, what Lancer might I ask? I realised I don't have the Evo IV or VI premiums...

Looking sweet as always :D gotta love the demo videos for, well...demonstrating! :sly: looks very smooth, might convert my jaffa cake* Supra drifter to a Sledgehammer now!

*brown with orange wheels, it's awesome!

I am wanting to do a story review, but the car I want to include in it has a transmission problem that needs to be worked out (Hinting to fixing the car's transmission, RJ) and it is the Ford Mustang Mach R

This is the 599 Wild Pony. As the name suggests, it’s pretty wild. The reason being is that it has 723bhp. Are we crazy? Yes. You’ll notice that even with the car’s colossal power, the front end is still as sharp as a razor. This means when the rear end does kick out, you’ll be able to hold and control it. So with this, you can change the behaviour of the car pretty quickly during cornering. Understeer? Boot it. Oversteer? Back off the throttle. It’s not the fastest 599, but it’s the one that’ll never fail to impress.

Art Morrison created a stunning C1 Corvette. They combined modern performance with classic looks, arguably the best combination a car can have. However the Art Morrison has one slight problem. It’s a tyre-shredding monster, regardless how good you are with the loud pedal.

So when metalcue gave us an Art Morrison Corvette to play with, the first thing we did was drift it around Tsukuba, as that was all it could do. After some wizardry with the suspension, it’s now possible to lap any track without spinning the rear tyres, provided you control your feet. Hammering the throttle simply reawakens the drift beast within.

Tuner Comments:
The Corvette ZR1 is the current fastest production Corvette. It’s easy to see why it has such a fanbase. Naturally though, being a high power RWD car with a big V8 up front, the handling gets hairy sometimes. So what we’ve done is left the engine stock and improved the rest of the car to match the motor. Whilst this Corvette will still step it’s tail out if you push too far, it’s a lot more controllable and much easier to drive than before.

For those of you who have played the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series, I’m sure the name “Dreamy Ghost” will ring a bell. Or maybe “Dream Fiend” as he’s also known. Dreamy Ghost’s NSX was featured in not just the intro movie to Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero, but Kaido Battle 3. This guy’s done it all, Touge and Wangan.

So here’s a 400bhp NSX-R requested by GT350GT. His request was simple. The suspension of the 3rd Anniversary and the gearbox of the Evolution R. Quite a simple request and one that you’d think isn’t worth releasing yet another NSX for, but we threw in an extra surprise or two on top of the request.

Firstly, the transmission is completely bespoke for the car, not a rip of the Evolution R. You can full throttle start this NSX and not need to hold back because of wheelspin. On top of that, the gears are quite close, keeping the engine in the powerband for longer. Useful in Touge battles, no? The LSD is from the NSX Type R Zero, which on top of the 3rd Anniversary suspension, gives the same feel that the original 3rd Anniversary gave, before the revisions.

So why Dreamy Ghost you ask? Well, quite simply, it’s a yellow NSX that’s good on mountain passes. It’s only fitting to name it after one of the 13 Devils.

Back at RVV, we had an Acura Integra Type R with 250bhp and handled very well compared to other FF’s on GT4. The thing is, it couldn’t really take more power without understeering into a wall. So now with GT5’s much better FF physics, we thought we should see just how good this ITR could be. So here’s the RKM IT350R.

First you’ll notice the extra 100bhp, totalling 350bhp with no forced induction. Then you’ll notice it revs to 9,900rpm. This is why I love the B18C. My favourite engine of all time. Of all time! Then Onboy will notice it’s slightly different to the ITR I did for him. You see, he wanted his ITR to oversteer, which is great, but not something I want to represent one of my old favourites with. So I tweaked it more and made this, the most badass ITR I’ve ever tuned. This car is fast and it actually feels fast too. It’s not some numb-bum GT-R that you’ll fall asleep driving, this is proper excitement, this is what Honda Type R’s are all about.

You can tell I like this car, eh?

Requested by ryangt. This GT-Apex tune borrows its name from the classic AE86, but the only thing classic about this car is the tuning. Classic RKM style, 400bhp and sports soft tyres. You know what to expect and this FT-86 delivers.

Despite being the G Sports model, this is actually no faster than the normal FT-86, infact if anything it’s slower and a little harder to drive because of the peaky turbo. Although on the plus side, it's far more stable and more consistent overall.
