And again I can't seem to achieve bronze. Only 10 tries so far but I hate the low payouts and the extreme difficulty level to get gold or silver. I've only got silver [in any TT] 5-10 times since I started playing gt7 1 year ago and never ever been close to getting gold in any time trial even after 100s of attempts and hours of wasted grinding.
Edit: The above is for circuit de Barcelona rallycross, not the Le Mans track, I actually got bronze on De La Sarthe after 10-15 laps!

Well I gave the Yaris another shot but nope, I got nothing. I'm a pretty frustrated fellow right now. I'm watching the fast laps, and I seem to be doing more or less the same things...and I'm stuck at 5.4% as of today with the new top time ( ). I don't expect to match the low 46s in the laps I'm looking at. I just want the 3-4 tenths I need to get into silver! I can't understand how there's that much time between where I'm at and the gold line on a 47 second lap! I don't know...it just seems like it shouldn't be this hard just to get a silver. And my silver at Le Mans is now at 4.8% so I'll likely wake up to bronze in that too. I've thrown a lot of hours into these last few events and it's super frustrating that after a long period of really not having much trouble getting good silver times (and the occasional gold) all of a sudden I'm fighting to get better than bronze. I'm actually feeling pretty burned out on the whole process.

I tried and tried to improve at LeMans for the final time tonight, but no dice. I had several laps where I was on pace to potentially knock down a sub 3:27, but the last chicanes kept doing me in. The Porsche Curves did ruin a couple laps, too. Oh, well. One thing I can say is that unlike many here, I am NOT stressed whatsoever at Barcelona. I'm happy with my decision to skip it. :D

I can't believe it

MEOW MEOW MEOW BABY!!! THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT!!!!!!!!
Sorry no good. The time moved.

I’m so angry, I’m lost for words.

Like how?

I can’t get this in the couple hours left. I’ve lost confidence in my faulty brake pedal and IM driving desperate. Not good.

I thought I had this. Figured no one could beat Bruin. :grumpy:

I reverted back to the Mazda and banged in a 2:38.0 to secure gold.
You mean 2:28?

I’m trying again but currently I can’t even get sub 2:30. I’ve completely lost whatever rhythm I had last time I got gold.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I SPENT HOURS ON THIS. I went four days without an improvement and stayed up to 11PM last night to get the gold. I guess in the end, it doesn't even matter. What a bitter disappointment.

Sorry, right you are. I was previously on a best on 3:29.1 so managed to find over a second purely by switching between cars.

The Mazda just feels best for me.

I just got kicked out. I did not reclaim gold. :grumpy:

I was following the ghost of Iceman and I was terrible. Best was 3:29.7.

Then with 15mins to go I switched to the ghost of a much lower player, the one I chased when I last got gold. Immediately I improved.

I started to inch towards the 3.28s again when I got kicked off. 💩

Isn’t it funny though, how some ghost suit one style of driving and others do not?

I had entered that time trial too on Tuesday. To be honest I had achieved similar results from the comments above. I had abandoned that time trial after that.

Figuring out this is quite tricky. The road surface type doesn't help, I guess, too much sliding around, too much wheelspin to use the typical indicators we are used to do in "normal" TT. And, by the way, Lemans TT is another atypical, even though for different reasons. So don't use this two as a reference about how good you are doing.

Looking at my example (49.256s, you are doing way way better 👏)

I understand that I'm not good at turn1. I cannot handle it full throttle like Tigd and others

I'm reaching the breaking point already late by 0,3s and exit it late 1s (all what I'm saying is compare to Tidge youtube lap)
Tidge is constantly quicker than me (red line is Tidge speed, white line is the same graph is mine)
Tidge is mostly full Throttle (blue line). I have to negotiate if I don't want to red lap or going super wide

the lack of speed exiting turn 1 costs me another 0,3s by the left hander-jump-right hander complex
This next section alone costs me another 0,3s
Turn 3 (the long double lefter) is strangly quite OK. I would have not said that before looking at the telemetry. I felt I wheelspinned a lot, but really time and speed are quite the same of Tidge (god... I cannot believe what I just wrote)
Turn 4 is another 0,3s mostly generated by lack of apex speed
Turn 5 and 6 (final one) are another blood spilling

This is the total lap

So all in all
bad perception of what is happening (see comment in Turn3), bad skill (see comment for Turn1 but more in general difficulty in posinioning the car and anticipating turns), short track (0,3s accounts for 0,66%) are doing the sad result.

Hope you see it now what you are doing under different light and soften a bit your frustration (which is mine too ☺️)

But i had fear for Nordschleife RedBull X shenanigans...... so in a way.... i'm happy
I'm curious how the thing handels the curbs tho.....
Besides.... i kind of like the Bullring, has everything a track needs to have except for the tracklimits on the last corner

I haven't had time to breath in the past week. I missed a million and one posts here.
Last night I turned on the Playstation, seen the gold requirement for the Gr1 at La Sarthe.. asked myself how in the world?! ..... and then went to bed

Still to attempt the Yaris one, and from looking at my in game leaderboard, it looks like its going to be another tough cookie.

Take care guys and Happy Hunting as always!!

I was in gold, and briefly in the top 100 for first time ever, in the new TT with a 1:23.3 something. TCS 2, CSA Strong. Will work tomorrow on more throttle control on exits and see if my time is bronze by then.

The results for TT114 at 24 Heures du Mans Racing Circuit in the Gr.1 are over here. I have updated the opening post with the index of all TTs and the second post with the community scoreboards.

Here are some interim statistics for TT115 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya Rallycross Layout in the Toyota GR Yaris RZ "High performance" '20.

The attached Excel file has this scoreboard as well as results for all TTs for everyone on the scoreboard.

See, I look at that table of results and I think maybe PD should have adjusted the boundaries a bit. In most TTs I sort of shoot for being in the top 10% overall. That usually is at worst a decent silver time. In this one I'm at 4.25% and it's bronze. I mean there's been several events over the past few months where they set the payout for bronze to 500K and those were all much easier to at least get silver in.

Well, at least my silver at LeMans held...

So the Porcshe at fizzy drink ring is as I feared, a hoverboard with an afterburner on the back that requires almost as much braking as it does accelerating, its not all that bad I guess and at least feels a little more conventional than some of the recent TTs, I'll come back to it, it's all about the Yaris for the next few days and that ever falling gold time
