Well I gave the Yaris another shot but nope, I got nothing. I'm a pretty frustrated fellow right now. I'm watching the fast laps, and I seem to be doing more or less the same things...and I'm stuck at 5.4% as of today with the new top time (
). I don't expect to match the low 46s in the laps I'm looking at. I just want the 3-4 tenths I need to get into silver! I can't understand how there's that much time between where I'm at and the gold line on a 47 second lap! I don't know...it just seems like it shouldn't be this hard just to get a silver. And my silver at Le Mans is now at 4.8% so I'll likely wake up to bronze in that too. I've thrown a lot of hours into these last few events and it's super frustrating that after a long period of really not having much trouble getting good silver times (and the occasional gold) all of a sudden I'm fighting to get better than bronze. I'm actually feeling pretty burned out on the whole process.
Figuring out this is quite tricky. The road surface type doesn't help, I guess, too much sliding around, too much wheelspin to use the typical indicators we are used to do in "normal" TT. And, by the way, Lemans TT is another atypical, even though for different reasons. So don't use this two as a reference about how good you are doing.
Looking at my example (49.256s, you are doing way way better 👏)
I understand that I'm not good at turn1. I cannot handle it full throttle like Tigd and others
I'm reaching the breaking point already late by 0,3s and exit it late 1s (all what I'm saying is compare to Tidge youtube lap)
Tidge is constantly quicker than me (red line is Tidge speed, white line is the same graph is mine)
Tidge is mostly full Throttle (blue line). I have to negotiate if I don't want to red lap or going super wide
the lack of speed exiting turn 1 costs me another 0,3s by the left hander-jump-right hander complex
This next section alone costs me another 0,3s
Turn 3 (the long double lefter) is strangly quite OK. I would have not said that before looking at the telemetry. I felt I wheelspinned a lot, but really time and speed are quite the same of Tidge (god... I cannot believe what I just wrote)
Turn 4 is another 0,3s mostly generated by lack of apex speed
Turn 5 and 6 (final one) are another blood spilling
This is the total lap
So all in all
bad perception of what is happening (see comment in Turn3), bad skill (see comment for Turn1 but more in general difficulty in posinioning the car and anticipating turns), short track (0,3s accounts for 0,66%) are doing the sad result.
Hope you see it now what you are doing under different light and soften a bit your frustration (which is mine too ☺️)
