Acura DN-X

This set-up is for the Acura DN-X that you win for getting all silvers in the A license. It's fully modified with the best parts, including the rollcage, without nitrous, and uses Sports Medium tires. It also gave 1'13.235 on Midfield.

-Spring Rate: 17.0 / 17.0

Driving Aids

Transmission
1. Slide "Final" all the way to 5.000.
2. Slide Autoset to 1.
3. Then slide "Final" to 3.535.
This is the tranny trick, and this is a good base for tuning your transmission for each track.

Have you tried them yet? Also, change the downforce to 28 / 30 if you haven't.

Springs at 17 seems high Duck, I have found that the default range (between front and rear) of racing suspension usually covers the level of the spring settings I end up with after tuning, in fact, I always sum default racing spring numbers, divide by two and apply that as my base set-up. Also, unless you are using a pedal, it seems unlikely that one could get improvement setting brakes higher than 10. Lastly, I have not yet found a car that looses lap time to excessive downforce. I have not yet found a car whose lap times dropped as a result of reducing cornering ability. I will concede that downforce adjustments are an almost side effect-less way to adjust steering bias. The one side effect, reduction of traction, is a big enough reason to make me suggest you adjust that bias another way. It is only 1 or 2 clicks, but still...
As always, of course, I endorse the settings that work for you, these are changes I would make to support my style.
If you would like, I can dig up my DN-X and post a Deep lap and the settings to compare to.

I thought that you want the stiffest (but not too stiff) springs for responsive handling...I'll try your technique later today.

I could've used full downforce, both front and rear, and could've shaved a tenth or two of a second off of my laptime at Midfield. However, the laptimes weren't very consistant ( 👎 ), and over a period of five laps, the reduced downforce tune had the best average ( 👍 ).

You are essentially correct, just imagine a cart with solid axles and non phenumatic tires in order to picture the result of overly stiff springs...

Button pushers, like me, tend to be all or nothing dispite the "variable" buttons. All my friends use wheels and they find my low brake settings intolerable...

I've changed to Midfield (because I feel that it has a bit of everything, and is an easy track to learn with each car), so you might want to try and tune there, just so we can compare "apples to apples".

I'll set 'er up and run it through there then...

I guess I was picturing the HSC. No matter, I had to polish the DN-X anyway. The drifters should love this ride, did 1'15.233 at Midfield on sport mediums, coulda used a VCD...

I just discovered the Acura DN-X; what a surprise!

A mid-engine 4WD car...a 3.5 liter V6 with VTEC powers the rear wheels but (in addition) all four wheels also have their own regenerative motors which collect energy thru braking and store them in a battery...but can also dispel said energy under acceleration. Which makes the DN-X incredibly stable..."riding on rails" comes to mind. 👍

What a cool car. Unfortunately all the websites i've come across tend to say the exact same thing...ever since the DN-X was shown in a car show many websites just seem to quote the same press-release info from 2002.

This is a longshot, but if anyone has any additional info on this wicked machine let me know. (not expecting much but i thought it'd be worth a shot.)

Why would you put TCS for a 4WD car? Let alone set it all the way to 3.

*sigh* look man, i don't care about the tranny trick or TCS...i'm curious about the actual real-life car. I was just looking for some info cuz i'm a bit fascinated with it. I doubt anyone can answer my odd request..
