Only last year, i think it was, a new Aston Martin DB9 or Vanquish was stolen from a car dealers or somewhere and Police caught up with/found it near the Auckland Harbour Bridge. When they started to give pursuit "the car just took off like we were standing still" (roughly the words of a Policeman from what i remember).

Not sure if they found it or not, but that city is just going insane. Over 1/4th of New Zealands population lives there (1.4 million i think) and, of course, the rest of the country builds power stations for Auckland, and all other roading projects take a back seat because Auckland has first priority - even though there are MUCH more deadly stretches of roads in many other places in the country.

I'm really starting to hate that city and i've only ever been there once - thankfully i can't remember i thing about it.

 That I believe!

What I can't believe....the robbers stole the car for the sole purpose of having the wheels??? I mean, what kinda robbers does that city have?
If I'd have the insane mentality of a car robber, I'd sure could've find a better use for such a beautiful car.

Ciao!

What the? Are you serious? It should be easy to catch the crooks, just look for the Civic with the DB9 rims.

Different Aston and different incident (although i can't be 100% sure that it is a different car than the first reported incident last year).

The robbers are kinda the same as all robbers around the world; mindless, lazy, disrespectful losers.
And that, my friends, is putting it as nicely as humanly possible...

Dude .. they did a pretty good job of finding the center point for balancing the car. 👍

At least they didn't use those 80 year old blocks that fall apart when you stand on them. THAT would've been a disaster.

Minless? No. Lazy? No. Disrespectful? All robbers are.

It takes logic and sense to orchestrate thievery, especially of a luxury car lot without getting caught. Stealing things isn't very easy, it takes a good deal of smarts to come up with plans and more smarts to execute it without being caught, like these fol have.

The mindless lazy crooks are already in jail.

Mindless? Yes. Too idiotic to know that it’s a lifestyle they can’t sustain. They will get caught. They will spend some period of their life in jail. They will not be rich (for long), or have a lifestyle that they want.

Lazy? Yes. Too ****ing lazy to get a real job, and become a productive member of society. The only reason people do **** like this, is because they aren’t prepared to put in the effort that is required if they want to live in a developed country. 👎

Remuera is one of our 'posh' suburbs, I doubt that the owner would've dropped his Aston onto cinder blocks to clean.

He can certainly afford to have it put into a garage to have something cleaned.

Although I found it very funny :D

there was a similar incident a year or so back when some scumbags stole Bernie Ecclestone's Mercedes CLS-55 AMG Wheels. It was the first one in the country too!

Spec....

Yeah why wouldn't you park an Aston in the garage...Even though it is quite a horrible crime, the owner was kind of asking for it.

Perhaps it's just the frost/condensation but the first pic looks photochopped.

I think they've also proved that it has a slight front weight bias

The owner should have checked off the $50.00 wheel lock option.

Nice.

Edit: Is it such a coincedince that the front license plate resembles that of the Aston Martin James Bond drove in his movie when he had the DBS? It really looks photoshopped. Just study the pictures..
