Motorcycles in the next installment?

Personally I would love to have bikes included. I absolutely loved Tourist Trophy but it takes PD so long to release anything I would rather have them included in GT5 rather then wait for TT2.

NO! EJRocky's right. GT is about cars. If they had bikes, it would just turn into will almost, TOO much. I think it would also start to turn into games like Midnight Club.

Agreed, Midnight Club Los Angleles was one of the worst games I made the mistake of buying last year. I would like to see a TT2 though with more in depth tuning.

The inclusion of bikes would not suddenly turn the game into a Midnight Club like game. Just segregate the racing and only allow cross racing in a free ride mode.

I just think having bikes at all in GT is a bad idea.

When in comes to GT Im of the mentality that is should include just about all types of racing I think MotoGP/Tourist Trophy events would only compliment the game rather then make it worse. PD has already shown they have the talent and with GT5 bikes IMO would only add to the wide variety of events it already includes.

I can't imagine driving a motorcycle with a steering wheel. If you can't lean into a corner I won't bother with it

If they have bikes in GT they should release a full size "controller".

I would spend 3, 400 dollars on a proper motorcycle simulator seat to go with quality PD motorcycles in GT5 or 6

with 3400 bucks I'd rather buy a REAL motorcycle.

No and no again! Absolutely no bikes in GT! For the imptyumpth time; cars and bikes don´t mix!!
And it would be a mess trying to drive a bike with a steeringwheel...

The rabid hostility against the very idea of bikes appearing in GT5game really doesn't surprise me, even if I don't quite understand it.

It's not like you'll be forced to ride them, and if they were to be included I doubt very much that you would be able to mix them in proper races or online matches. The only time they may meet would be in a free drive / ride mode, if at all.

Given that TT was essentially GT4 with a few bikes instead of lots of cars, I can't see how bikes would compromise the car side of things in the game.

TT may have had limited appeal, but it did sell well enough to warrant a Platinum version, so I think there'd be more than enough people who would appreciate the inclusion of bikes in GT5. I would certainly rather have bikes and cars in the same game than have to buy both, which I would be less inclined to do. Why not kill two birds with the one stone?

As for not being able to play it with a steering wheel, are you guys for real?

Finite resources mean that for every single bike that goes into the game means that a car doesn't go in the game because they are wasting time and resources on bikes instead of cars. Less that total concentration one area because you need to to develop two area's lessens both area's.

It is a much better idea to dedicate a game to a specific target. Thus GT should be for cars and TT should be for bikes.

I've ridden bikes and driven cars for many years but they offer vastly different experiences due to the inherent differences in how you control them. You turn the wheel of a car and it goes in that direction but the same doesn’t apply to a bikes handlebars. You use counter steer to turn a bike so actually push the left bar to go left which is hard to get your head round but it is true, in addition to this you use your body weight although it has less of an effect than you would imagine. You really can’t replicate the feeling of being on a bike in a computer game which is why the majority of bike games are rubbish, it’s much more realistic to experience driving a car using a force feedback steering wheel.

I love riding bikes but wouldn’t want them in a full Gran Turismo game as I feel they couldn’t be executed with the same quality as cars. No doubt years down the line PD will release a bikes rehash of GT5.

Nail on the head, right there, Evilneal 👍

I'm a biker through and through, and I haven't found a sim/game yet that does justice.
No bikes in GT5 please.

I can´t see anything wrong with including bikes at some point, aslong as it´s not forced on anyone, would be an great addition imo, GT is whatever PD want it to be really.

They would have to get pretty much perfect otherwise it will be a waist of extra time and money.

EDIT:
Wow. I need to watch how I type lol!

The Question: "Motorcycles in the next installment?"
The Answer: Yes, there will be motorcycles in the next installment...of Tourist Trophy that is!...DOH! :dopey:

Seriously..who wants a game with BOTH cars AND motorcycles in it, when there's already a single game dedicated to each already out?

And besides...even if PD added TT to GT and came out w/the ULTIMATE game of both genres, I'm going to assume it would raise the cost of the game to produce, thus in term piss more people off then those who actually wanted a game that included both CARS AND MOTORCYCLES to begin with! ;-)

When you think about it Tourist Trophy doesn't really have an equivalent. No other bike riding console simulator is on the market except for the games that are limited to one racing series. And if we can remember how GT2 expanded its horizon to encompass various forms of bike racing, I am confident in believing that TT2 will do the same. I am just hoping for some Rotax powered dirt bowl racing along with the standard road racing affairs.

I can't wait to race NASCAR on a Rally track VS a WRC spec EVO, because that is a realistic scenario indeed.

Anyway...

If PD never include bikes in GT5 then along with having Tourist Trophy 2, I would at least like to be able to race againts my GT5 Ghosts on my Bike, and Vice Versa.

TT was indeed pretty much GT4 but with bikes, so why not have TT2 be pretty much GT5 but with bikes? I see no need whatsoever to have both games on the same disc (is that even doable?), for possibly twice the price. I for one don´t play bikegames, and thus, I don´t want to pay for them either.

The steeringwheel was joke... silly me thought that was obvious!

yeah i would not like bikes in gt5, although i would like to see them only as traffic while doing a free run on the Nordschleife track.

What hurricane said.

Besides, what about this? A Tourist Trophy with cars!

"No! That's a dumb idea! Cars handle completely differently. And each car means a new motorcycle wasn't modeled! Cars should be left to Gran Turismo, a CAR game."

Yeah. ;)
