Did you try submitting?

I did and it refused, saying that i´m not registered.

The problem is that i don´t know if tomorrow i could submit, and this is a week that i really comitted myself :scared:

If it doesn't work before the deadline maybe EDK or Vaxen would accept a PM - I've submitted a time which was accepted.

Starting to get frustrating now. I've been murdering my previous spilts, but can't seem to pull off the final corner at the same speed... the splits below are .2 better then the last ones I posted, are 0.2 slower than my best at T3, yet I've only picked up 0.01 at the line

T1: 22.295
T2: 20.783
T3: 17.764

One last run then I'm done!

 Yesterday I was turning consistent 22.2 T1's but couldn't do crap in T2. Now I can barely hit 22.4's in T1 and have picked up .2-.3 in T2... Go figure.

Gonna give it another try later on but for now this is where I'm at.

T1: 22.212
T2: 21.081
T3: 17.692

That's me done for today... just over 0.1 improvement at the line.

T1: 22.241
T2: 20.841
T3: 17.688

Damn, was on that lap and buggered it up in a place I never have had before!

Ultimately, I think my inconsistency in T2 is going to destroy my chances of a .9 in T3. Though I did gain 2 thousandths on my best time this afternoon. Didn't jot down the splits as just too annoyed. Going to spend all tomorrow morning on it (before the snooker starts again).

RAR!

You will improve at some point soon Dan, I know it. You have good car control but I get the feeling you're still over-driving, which gives the illusion of more speed but just slows your corner exits. Earlier on the brakes, smoothly on and off, roll in to the apex and slide out with very smooth acceleration. Start a session very calm and just take a few easy laps to visualise your line and braking points, then start to build up the speed. You will have an epiphany at some point and the time will just start to fall away in chunks. :)

That is some Jedi stuff right there!
Thanks for the Tips Chris!
It's been a bad week this week, might get some tip to tidy up my lap tonight before submission hopefully.

Cheers All !!!

I'm not sure whether to be happy I beat my goal by 2 tenths, or mad that my best lap has 2 mistakes, that for some reason I can't seem to beat.
All done for me though, submitting my final.
T1: 22.245
T2: 20.909
T3: 17.949

Last session for me, left .08 out there at turn 11 being ultra cautious as i had a faster lap than i submitted ruined by cutting off Turn 11 and DQ'ing the lap. I'm not going to chase it though, i'm frustrated enough as it is. I met the target i set, but the time left out there will bug me, i know it... and it will ultimately cost me an overall Podium/Top 5.

A total of 4.5hrs spent and around 200 laps (or part of) done during the week, about 30 of those would have been complete laps after getting my head around different lines and how to maximize the exit on the crucial corners (6/7, the chicane and 11, even though i made a mess of it on the submitted lap).

We used this course for the GT Academy last year and it's like going to the dentist for me, along with dredging up some nasty old memories:grumpy:👎

T1: 22.183
T2: 20.845
T3: 17.705

Back from holidays with all of about 30 minutes to race. Would like to keep my unbroken submission run going so despite this being the worst lap in history, it's being submitted:

T1: 24.281
T2: 23.468
T3: 19.054

I'm going to assume that it's okay to race without our GTP tag since PSN is down and I don't think there's any other way to race?!? If there's a problem with my submission being from my name and not "GTP_MisterWeary" then I guess I'll have to be DQ'ed.

Cheers 👍

Interesting...my splits on the leaderboard seemed to have changed without me doing anything! Let's see if re-posting for a third time corrects it

T1: 22.540
T2: 21.126
T3: 17.934

I have given up on this week now. I could have gone faster but I just couldn't put all my best sectors together in one lap.

22.314
21.026
17.794

I am submitting with these splits.:)

When you are not logged into PSN, it will display the user name that you see in the left most column of the XMB in replays etc.
This name can be changed... hint hint...

Coulda saved me 500,000 if you mentioned this earlier :grumpy:

New splits
22.452
20.763
17.827
Lost a tenth in the first and last sectors, but will have to do.
Time submitted with new splits.
 and good luck all.

Sorry. If it makes you feel any better, I spent the half million too. And an hour levelling up. :)

Went back to this for another 45mins.... re: Stotty's thread. Am 0.1 down in T1 but a PB in T2 and a huge PB by over a tenth in T3 and over a tenth at the line.... submitted.

T1: 22.283
T2: 20.767
T3: 17.577

Tried a different tune (much stiffer) and improved again almost immediately...

T1: 22.227
T2: 20.786
T3: 17.622

Have been .2 up on these, but this lap has a good final corner with a minimum speed of 77mph. Still room to improve as had a big slide exiting turn 6 on to the back straight.

As always, I'm happy to share my own tunes, but this one is not mine... I'll try and see if the 'owner' is happy for me to share.

Sure, here are my settings.

Max Aero

Top Speed = 249

1st 2266
2nd 1680
3rd 1320
4th 1080

Final 3191 (Shows 221 top speed in the top box)

LSD 5, 60, 5

RH -20 -15
Springs 16 14
Dam Ext 9 10
Dam comp 9 10
ARB 6 7

Camber 2.5 1.2
Toe 0 0

And Chris' tweaks to them are -

Ride -10 -30 (makes the car turn faster and will give you 1-2mph line speed)

Final 3.266 (makes top speed 217mph and gives slightly better acceleration)

I already submitted my mediocre time. Did not have much time to run this over the weekend, and got a new wheel that I'm still getting used to. Was not able to improve, but happy to share these if they might help anyone with a last ditch session. 👍

...but happy to share these if they might help anyone with a last ditch session. 👍

Many thanks for that Kev 👍 Shame you didn't have time to get more running. I've got a new wheel coming tomorrow so no doubt I'll have a similar transitional period. What's the T500 like?

I did a small session today based on Stotty's findings but only improved 0.02 at the line - with very different split proportions though:

T1: 22.409
T2: 20.834
T3: 17.782

0.2 slower than my best T1, 0.05 slower than my best T2 but by far the best T3 I've had all week (thanks Nigel 👍)

Submitting with these for now but may have another run later with Kev's setup.

I had to do some work to get it to fit on my Rig. The wheel setup is quite a bit heavier than the G27, but now I have it in a comfortable position.

My notes as compared to the G27 would be -

  • FFB is noticeably stronger. I had the G27 set at 5. I can see where I'll be varying with this wheel, depending on the combo. For the NASCAR in WRS, I used a setting of 1. When testing the GTI, a setting of 2 was appropriate.
  • Pedals are much more precise, the brake in particular. I have not installed the Realistic Brake Mod, but even without it, the pedals are the biggest upgrade. And the G27 is already much better than the DFGT/DFP. Pedals also have a lot of adjustability that I've only begun to scratch the surface of. Pedal location, angle and throw are all adjustable. I think that's a big plus as well.
  • The shift paddles are BIG and Fixed. This is the thing that's taking the most getting used to. On a combo like the NASCAR, it's nice to be able to upshift to catch a slide here or there. With the fixed paddles, you may not be in the right hand position to do that. Especially true in turn 1-3 complex.
  • It's REALLY nice to have all the controls on the wheel again. I can look left and right, turn my ghost on and off without taking my hand away. There's even a XMB button. Nice to not have to reach of the DS3 to access XMB. That will be a nicer plus when we have PSN again. :sly:
To fund this, I sold my old 40 GB "Fatty" on Ebay, and lined up a sale of the G27 to a friend. That left me with about $150 out of pocket, not too bad.

Whether or not it's worth $600? You'll have to ask me a few weeks down the road. ;)

*awesomeness*

Oh dear, I'm going to be eaten in the final sector.

I've submitted, given up on this, .2 down on my best at T3, but .002 up at the line. Very frustrating week. Good luck all.

I wish I had more time...I've submitted with my time on the board, and won't have a chance to give it another crack before the submission deadline. :grumpy:

Gave it one more run last night at got within .002 of my posted splits lap time but for some reason couldn't get anywhere close to the T1 splits I was able to run a few days ago so I know there are a few tenths I'm leaving on the table.

I may give it another spin tonight to play with some setup stuff after reading through Stotty's thread, just to see what happens. I had figured out the ride height issues but never went far enough to wonder if the whole left side of the tuning menu was flipped. It would make a whole lot more sense why nothing I've tried this past week to cure the lack of front end feel and grip worked though....too little, too late I'm afraid.

Anyone using the setting Kev's posted with my tweaks... watch out for the oversteer in to turn 6 and 8... it can get a bit lively :D

Oh, and submitting with my last posted splits.
