I give up. :indiff:
Had some laps in on monday, and today I had some spare time to try again but it's just not working out for me.
I hit those tires in the first corner about 10 times and when I finally pass my first sector is about 4 tenths off. :ouch:

Good luck to all you fast people.

Last one for today - been on a bit of a roll this evening.

T1: 22.597
T2: 20.956
T3: 17.856

Only a tenth or so left to get in T1 - this hits my 1:01.500 target though I think so it'll probably be my submission time, but we'll see :)

Loving this weeks combo 👍

Nice times for a DS3, would hate to use one with a Nascar!

Nearly getting there. Poorish T1, but I think that was a combinatiion of needing an oil change (20hp down) and missing apex of turn 4 by about a foot. Saw a .7 flat in T3 which was nice too, might even have been a high .6.

22.344
20.911
17.785

Would like another .15 at the line before submitting.

It's pretty obvious where I am losing time. I don't think I have done more than a couple of laps with sub 21 T2s.
In T2 I'm positioning myself in the middle of the track and braking at the shadow, down to 1st gear (easier with the ratio I'm using), trail throttle to about 1/3 of the way round, ease the throttle back in, short shift to 2nd as you exit, immediately dab the brake and turn in to the right hander, early and easy on the throttle as you kiss the apex and gently to full throttle as it drifts over to the curb on the left. Not using the curb or run off area at all there. Hope that makes sense and/or helps :)

Loving this weeks combo 👍
I guessed that... stunning time with a DS3 Matt. Amazing in fact... a better T3 than I'm doing. 👍

I give up. :indiff:
That's a shame poolhaas - but if you're not enjoying this one, taking a break is the best thing. Best of luck if you do decide to have another bash at it. :)

Another baby step for me, still not getting anywhere in T3:

T1: 22.251
T2: 20.826
T3: 17.957

I'm done for today I think.... hoping I can get that extra 0.2 in T3 and I reckon thats me up against the talent wall. Pretty damned happy with my improvements thus far though so anything extra from here is a big bonus. Cheers all, hope you're having a good weekend

Edit - I've got one of the slowest T3's on the board. Anyone got the time or will to enlighten me as to where I'm going wrong here? 💡

I usually play 30 min to 1h after work, but it was a busy week so driving an unknown car (for me) on an unknown track is a bit too much for my patience.
Maybe put a few laps in tomorrow and we'll see, next week will turn out better.

Making a bit of progress with this one. Still struggling with T2, this lap especially, mid 20.9's seems to be the limit for me right now. Pretty solid in T1 & T3 though.

T1: 22.300
T2: 21.018
T3: 17.626

Slightly slower splits but improved at the line by a little over a tenth.

22.212
21.081
17.692

I tend to fly in to the 1st turn a bit hot, chuck it in hard, downshift to 1st to get some lift-off oversteer which compensates for the extra speed, once im pointed in the right direction, up to 2nd and floor it - then it's just smooth and slow and hugging the curbs to death and I try to run straight out to the outer curb of the exit of the 3rd turn before coming back left for the 1st turn of T4 - tend to short-shift a little out of there so the tyres are not smoking hot for that very important corner.

Fixed the pedals thanks to Philip (Drandad). Here are my first splits:
T1: 22.263
T2: 20.930
T3: 17.611

Thanks Matt - managed to gain a few hundredths and set a 17.905. Still looking for a couple of tenths there though. Also just set my quickest T2 so far - 20.787 but with a slow T1 (0.2 up). Definitely done for the night now.... try and sew it all up tomorrow. :)

Glad you're back in the game Wes 👍

22.467 20.953 17.992 total: 1'01:412 gained only .250 out of my .388 gain at the end of t3. wish I could repeat that finish since it was my bestest best :) But considering I hit a wall between last night and earlier a quarter second is great!

Same here, I made some nice runs on Monday but didn't get a chance to try again until this morning and I can't get to within 1.5s of the Monday runs. I think I need to just skip this one, I don't enjoy driving the NASCAR cars, especially on this track, and if it aint fun, why do it? :guilty: If PSN had been up where I could race online I doubt I"ve have even thought about entering this week.

I might give this one more kick at the can..but I think I'm pretty much at my limit.

T1: 22.406
T2: 21.321
T3: 17.831

Comfortably my best T1 all week. Lost tenth or so after t3 to what I can do though. This car is quite a handful with the ds3.

I'll have another go at this before deadline as I just realised that I lost huge amounts of time in last sector.....need to fix that!

Well,,,,,Sorry Akmug, but Pyxen was closing in. Changed cars, Used Eclipsee's setting except for the toe and camber, because I seem to do better with stock setting.

T1: 22.658
T2: 21.769
T3: 18.551

Thanks. It's really not that different from what I do although I use second gear throughout. My feeling is that all my time is lost in the final righthander before the back straight. I can never nail the line, I am constantly a bit to late letting off the throttle coming into it.

T2 is all about that final turn for sure - I've seen my ghost come from 1 tenth behind and be 2 tenths up on that part quite a few times, lining up for the exit is tough because eagerness to get on the power will result in spinning up the wheels, sliding - if you try and correct you'll end up running wide and heading towards the lumpy curb which doesn't help either.

For what it's worth - I (sometimes) use 1st gear to engine break there, run over about half the curb with the right-side of the car and line up for as quick a straight-line exit as possible, seems to work ok! A an early apex here will kill the sector as running wide gives such a slow exit. Not sure I'm qualified to give advice really but that's how I do it ;)

Yeah well, you are nearly two tenths quicker than me in that sector so of course you can give me advise. I'll try the first gear engine brake to turn in trick.

Still a couple of tenths more for me in sectors 1 & 3, but I can't be bothered to find them. A fifth gear would be nice on this track... :sly:

T1: 22.771
T2: 21.224
T3: 18.009

You will improve at some point soon Dan, I know it. You have good car control but I get the feeling you're still over-driving, which gives the illusion of more speed but just slows your corner exits. Earlier on the brakes, smoothly on and off, roll in to the apex and slide out with very smooth acceleration. Start a session very calm and just take a few easy laps to visualise your line and braking points, then start to build up the speed. You will have an epiphany at some point and the time will just start to fall away in chunks. :)

Slower in T1 and T2 but overtook my ghost at the hairpins and held it to the line!
22.807
21.569
18.107

Been getting decent T3s (.7s for the last day or so), so I'll try to help. For me, these are the key parts to the sector.

Firstly, the exit from the right-hander before the sector is going to dictate a bit of time here. But you're good there.

The entrance to the left hander, don't run wide here or it'll kill your speed in to the first hairpin, you should be getting the car back up to 80mph before braking and dropping to 1st.

Be slow and smooth throughout the hairpins, feeling slow here is actually quick, hold the line and minimise wheelspin between the hairpins, I hit about 60mph before braking for the last bit. Then you need to hold a tight line and I find you have to wait a little longer to exit than you want to, I'm shifting early in to 2nd on the exit, I'm doing roughly 60mph when doing so, my gearing goes to about 78 before bouncing on the limiter in 1st.

Generally, I've found feeling slow is actually quick. It's not a sector to attack (unlike T1, which I find can benefit from feeling quite aggressive with the car, but that might just be a speed thing).

When I was having issues with it, I was trying to force the sector. The car just doesn't respond to it very well.

I'm now at a point where I just need to put together my best splits. Had a .190 in T1 this morning.

Thanks for your words of support, Chris. And yes, at times, I lose the "feel" of the car and try to over-drive it, as you say. New to this, so sometimes it's hard to keep it all together.....shifting, braking, entry, apex, exit, throttle....

By the way, switched over to your 211 gearing [except no adjustment YET for 1st] for my last gain, and I can see at least another .7 gain just from smoothing a couple of places out. I like to use 1st gear for braking at specific points, and yours gives me that opportunity.

Right now, working with settings from your last tune and from Ramon's.

Yesterday, my full time was accepted immediately. Maybe the splits is something different.
