Have you wanted to join one of the many GTP leagues, but are worried that you might not be good enough to compete? Or that your schedule doesn't always permit being online at the right time?

Are you a casual/average/new driver that wants some clean racing fun without being demolished every time you race?

Are you tired of searching the open lobby for a good race?

Is digging through the endless lists of PSN ID's more trouble than it's worth to find a good race?

Do you want something more organized than simply signing on and racing at random for 2 laps?

Have you spent hours getting the suspension just right? Have you painted your rims and car and just have to show it off on track? Then this is the league for you!

Welcome to...

The Super Tuner Car Championship!

This series will rotate through a variety of cars with the focus being on your tuner car! JDM tuner cars, Hot Hatches, Muscle Cars, Exotics, Touring Cars, Super GT and more!

Season 2 Results up! Check out www.supertunercar.webs.com for more info!

The second season of the Super Tuner Car Championship has concluded! Congratulations to xRoadrashx for becoming the first 2 time champion of this league!
We are currently in offseason mode but are still running weekly races.

Ok guys now that were in the "off season" as I've stated before I'm going to host Friday night sprints. I'll open up the lobby at around 8:30 est. If you guys have any friends that would like to try us out by all means they are welcome. We'll be running 5/10 laps depending on the track.

We can do a couple things; 1. Run what you brung and we'll set a pp and track with the winner of the race picking the pp/hp and type of car and the last place guy picking the track for the next race. 2. We have some suggestions for next seasons races, we can try(test) these cars on the suggested tracks as well as others.

Also, a couple of us will be testing daily in the afternoons and evenings, trying out different cars/tracks so feel free to jump in, run some laps tune your cars, etc.

Qualifying Revised.

One stage qualifying system.

Room Lobby / Lounge will be open to qualify and post your fastest time. 30 minutes. This will determine your pace lap position for the race.

Pace Lap: 1 lap will be added to the race distance for a formation pace lap. Drivers will be called one by one from grid start to get into the order they finished. The first place driver will stop 100m after pit lane and everyone will line up behind in order. DO NOT pass the driver in front of you.

Drivers will line up in a single file. A minimum of 3 car lengths must be between cars.

LMP lines up in qualifying order and LM GT in qualifying order directly behind LMP class.

The Formation Lap speed limit is 100 kph / 60 mph
*Stay in your qualifying order
*Do not hit other cars or exceed the speed limit

Rolling Start: When pole driver turns onto the pit straight the race will go green flag once 100m from start/finish line. -!This will be when the pole sitter of the LMP class reaches the pit entrance wall!-. No passing is allowed until crossing the start finish line. Drivers will be penalized for false starts and illegal passing.

Pit Lane is closed during the pace lap. Drivers who enter the pits will recieve a penalty.

If during qualifying race a LM GT passes a LMP ignore position and grid up in order in your own respective class.

This is a single file start

The race is at Road Course Daytona. 30 laps +1 should give us just over 45mins of racing. 630hp for LMP 600hp for LM GT. Race soft tires. Damage set to off. No cutting the chicane.

During the race the GT cars WILL be passed by the LMP's. The GT cars are to hold the proper racing line throught the corner and the LMP is to pass "off" line.

*1100kg weight limit for LM GT

Other than that this is a fun race so lets enjoy ourselves.

* MATTICS71 and Snoopykuan's Fast Lap times are incorrect. Substitute MATTICS71 fast lap with Snoopykuan's and vice versa.

Anybody decide what they are running for this weeks event yet? I'm switching back and forth between a Hyundai Tiburon, Acura Integra Type R or the premium CivIc Type R.

Right now the Acura Type R (at 430 PP) has a power to weight ratio of 4.90 kg/HP. EDIT: After a LOT of laps the fast time for this car was 1.37.378
The Spoon Integra Type R (at 430 PP) goes 4.66 kg/HP.
The Tiburon (at 430 PP) goes in at 5.80 kg/HP.
The Civic Type R '08 (at 426 PP) goes in at 5.11 kg/HP.
Hmmmm choices, choices, choices...

I'll see if I can post some lap times up later.

I was lookin at a Mini Cooper S. Not sure about the power to weight ratio. Did some testing though and was happy to see that after 15 laps the car was still easy to control. FF's are easier to drive on worn tires.

There are so many good cars in this category, it is hard to pick. Every time I narrow it down I find a few more. CRX SiR, Preluse Type S, Golf GTI, Focus, CL 3.2 Type-S, Integra Type R, Celica.

The best I did was a high 1:37 in a Celica

I believe its because of all the weight on the front tires but i'm not to sure.

Well the hyundai is out. I struggled to get a 1.38ish with it. It liked to slide a little to much. The Spoon Integra is okay. I managed a 1.37.--with it.

I think its gonna come down to the Civic Type R '08 or the Integra Type R '01. I had 1.36--times with both of them. Then again AllinWITJT was blazing down the track and he had the RSX (civic) Type R. Maybe I'll give that a shot.

So all I have to do is register at the web site, then show up at race day?

You don't even have to register at the web site. Just add me as a friend and show up on race day. Aside from some regulars its first come first serve. If you'd like to be in the community and vote on events or post race suggestions then you would need to register but other than that all you need to do is jump in my lounge at the scheduled time.

Broke out my old ricer Integra I had built ages ago for those "Honda only" drag rooms online. Tuned it down to 430 PP and ran a 1:36.181. A lot better than the 1:40.xxx's I was knocking down in the Mini.

Really looking forward to the new season and the chance for me to run my first full schedule in this series! This is going to be fun!

This is going to be fun!

👍 Heck yes it is! I feel this event is going to have a lot of intense, close racing. I also predict that Honda is going to be dominating the event. Is anybody else that is participating in this week going to use something other than a Honda?

yeah I think it's a honda race. There are so many cars but I just couldn't get good lap times. I might try the celica.

yeah I can't wait to race a full season, although FF is my least favourite drivetrain, but at least we get that out the way first :)

I think Honda for me so far, the celica was quite close but my best lap so far is in the premium integra (i forget the model), clocking about 1:37 just ahead of the civic, I don't expect to finish particularly strong in this car type but will give it my best... roll on the MR/FR

Well I'm not gonna be able to make the season 2 opener, made prior arrangements. Shame i was running some good times in the TRD Celica 1:35.5xx was my best.

Look forward to the next race. Have fun out there guys!

Well grayfox we're gonna miss you this week. Hope you're doing something fun. With you out at least I have a better shot at winning! Hahaha See you next week!

Pit strategy is going to be crucial this week. I tried to go 18 laps but my times definitely suffered. Around lap 14 I was running 1.41--. Not good.

I will probably not make it either. I usually cannot get online until about 10 pm ET on Friday nights. We originally started on Thursday nights, and I can get online around 9 pm ET. But no need to change just for me.

As for FF, I like these cars too, even though I was running 3 to 4 seconds off pace. SSR5 sure is hard to see--I could probably see better if it was completely dark and only headlights were on. Have fun!

If you have a chance check out the calendar. You will see we still have events scheduled on Thursdays. I hope you can make them.

I will be there for the Thursday night races for sure.

I vote for the Alfa Romeo one make. If we are running GT500, I would recommend limiting the cars to premium only (I think there are differences between the specs--the used GT500 have more power/better handling or something) so the cars are more even. Nurburgring GP-F.

Lap 9 1 went to 1.39 after 1.37's. Lap 10 1.40. I went to the pit lap 11. I don't see using the tires past 12 laps, the car starts pushing to much.

BTW, when we run any RM (Race Modified) events I prefer if you guys "claim" or register a number before hand. That makes it extremely helpful when i'm taking pics and writing a race recap. I currently have a race numbers being assigned in this thread. check it out and leave a message with the number you want.

Racers that use a number already claimed will receive an email after the event. thanks guys I appreciate it.

Hey guys I may not be able to make it tonight. Got to go see some distant relatives. I might be home in time but more than likely not.

Bummer I missed out. Race looked intense from the few laps I watched. See y'all on Thursday.

Sorry you missed it, Snoop. I had fun battling w/ DJ and Boshuter. But, there was some strange behavior from some of the new guys. I'm not sure they all fit well in this group.

Thanks again DJ. I"ll get you next time. Or maybe not.
