Further explanation of the theme, which is provided by Tangled Web:

"I want to see images of your favourite automobile, not only that but take it to your favourite
in game location too and show it off the way you think is best. Whether that be sliding round
The Ring or parked up outside Red Bull Hanger. Enjoy and have fun!"

CARS: Any
LOCATIONS: Any
PHOTO TRAVEL: Yes
UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS: See above

  • It is recommended you host your image on ImageShack, Photobucket, or Flickr.
  • Not sure how to post a thumbnail or preview image? Read this sticky!
  • Please use a clickable-preview to full-size, not a separate text link for it;
it makes poll creation much easier!

  • No full-size images posted in thread; your entry will be ignored.
[*]One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a comp.
[*]Do not ask other users to pick your entry.
[*]Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
[*]You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and
either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.
[*]When submitting, use either a thumbnail or a preview image, linked to the full-sizer.
[*]Preview images can not exceed 500 pixels in either direction.
[*]A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
[*]Do not post additional "also-rans" - just your entry will do!
[*]Winner gets to choose the following week's theme, as well as the Top 20. Every fourth
week, the poll will be H2H style: entries must choose a "team", and the best from each
poll faces off in a final 48 hour poll.
[*]Winners cannot enter in their own theme!

What you may not do to a photo:
  • Alter the geometry of the car. No stickers, or body modifications not available in game.
  • Add shapes or objects from outside of GT5, signatures excepted.
  • Add lens flares or "artistic" filters to image.
  • Remove items from shot (scenery, other cars).
  • Use more than 1 image (HDR, photo-stitching, multi-exposure).
  • "Creative cropping". The main "image" must be four-sided, with 90-degree, upright corners.
  • Selective car colour changing: masking different parts to create racing stripes or similar.

What you may do to a photo:
  • Crop and/or resize an image.
  • Adjust the level or curve values.
  • Alter the colour tone of the image (gradient maps, photo filters, colour balance, etc).
  • Car body colour change (all stickers/design features must remain, see "Remove Items" rule).
  • Adjust brightness, contrast, exposure, shadow/highlights.
  • Enhance shadows or highlights (dodge and burn tools in Photoshop, for example).
  • Add noise and/or diffuse glow.
  • Add a post-game tilt-shift blur, or apply a motion blur to a stationary Photomode shot.
  • Make use of Layer Blend Modes.
  • Use a Sharpening filter and/or tool.
  • Scale or enlarge rims.
  • Remove or modify license plates.
  • Remove the GT watermark.
  • Add a personal signature.
  • Clean up or fix jaggies, texture pixelation, or colour separation.
  • Add a vignette effect.

so the track has to be visible, right?
A close-up of my favorite car wouldn't work then....

Not necessarily, show your favourite car in whatever way you think is best. So if that means close ups, go for it. That doesn't stop you taking the image at your favourite location too. :D

Final Entry

RUF CTR "Yellowbird" '87

The Yellowbird is clearly one of my favorite cars in GT5 (and of course GT4). It won't give you any space for mistakes, never!
Also, Mt.Aso became my favorite location to shoot cars on pretty quick. Nice location for GT5 Photomode fanatics.

Its the SLS! ;)

But I surely change it later. If its not really clear which car and what track it is, I may fail with it.:scared:
And I already got the perfect shot for it ready:sly:

Nice one CCShaft7 !! Quite surprised not to see your HEP there ;)

Cheers Dennis 👍
The HEP? She's like an ex-girlfriend.... we kinda grew apart but will always have a soft spot for her. :sly:

Final Entry

My fav car, maybe, my fav track, maybe too... My fav car to shoot at, for sure, my fav track to shoot on, for sure...

Actually, this week's theme was the hardest one for me... I could choose any pics from Group C/LM race cars either on La Sarthe or Nürb tracks... I enjoy every single meters in any of theses cars and on these both tracks. But I had a huge pleasure to shoot the 787B at La Sarthe. Finally, photographer aspect helped me to choose my fav combination.

[Edit 1/06 to change link to a better large size view]

@bmxmitch: You should check your picture size to make sure to get this amazing shot into poll :sly:

I totally ignored that. I only copied the code from my gallery without even checkin the size! EPIC FAIL:lol:
I tried to log in at my flickr account before, but I totally forgot my password.:ouch:
Will change it when I'm back home...;)

You only need to change your link and erase the last '_z' at the end of it, just before the '.jpg'. It could work to display 500x wide. [Edit] tested, it works...

Entry changed New Entry

There is no better place than the track to show off my GT-R:D
Hmmm...pretty sure GT-R's wear Dunlops...
