Not decided on what type of cars to use yet. Either LMP1's (like the 24hour race in GT5) or VLN/GT cars like the real race. Your thoughts please. ill update the thread as progress is made.

Race starts at 9pm, room opens 1 hour before

1) I'd restrict to Racing Hard tires (if you do this, I'll participate)

2) I'd do the VLN/GT cars

3) Race starts at 9pm....Eastern? Pacific? Somewhere in Europe?

9pm GMT+1 (it does say in the thread title)

Im definatly leaning more towards the VLN/GT's but think im going to ban
GT500/300's

Racing hard tyres do add to the challange but after 10 laps its hard to give it that extra concentration that hard tyres require.

open to sugestions

So in Pacific time USA that is 1pm?

Was just a suggestion on the tires, but personally I don't use Racing Soft tires for anything so if that's the way it goes then I'll probably skip the race. Do what you want though. :)

im going to 550BHP and 1300KG. Ive held a 4 hour race with these regs and it works well

I can do it hopefully. Sign me up. Will pick car when we know more of the rules...

Think I will be using my Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro.

Have you decided to add any restrictions on what tyres can be used?

I think you are gonna be needing something better than that...

So just to be clear, 9pm GMT +1 is your current British Summer Time right? Like, if you are sitting in the UK on Friday night and the clock strikes 9, thats when the race starts....?! If so, I know where I'm at.

Did you decide what models of car are eligible?

Also, did you decide on tires? Allowing different compounds might make for some interesting strategies. There is about a 24 second penalty for stopping for tires, but last time I tested I was 15 seconds a lap quicker on softs than on mediums. Makes it possible to run different strategies depending on how well your car preserves tires and so on.....

i would definatly use a race car or you will be left behind.

you can use anything as long as it fits into these regs

yes it is 9pm british summer time. just to make sure you are 100% on time heres a clock that is correct

You can use whatever tyres you like, with it being a 10 lap race it will be long enough to warrent a pitstop or 2

Thanks, yeah think I'll use the R8 race car then. Usually go for a premium so I can use cockpit view with HUD off but I need to see my tyre wear anyway so..

What's a good time around here? Did a few laps and I was getting around in about low 8's on racing softs.

Ta Loskey now got to practice on my concentration and keeping it on the black stuff for 10 laps, not easy!

Also tyres were shot after 4 laps, undriveable mid lap 5. Would like to 1 stop but whether that possible I don't know?

Are you practicing online or offline because the cars are a bit more of a handfull when racing online. Dont ask me why though

Will confirm this time from Brazil.

If i race, will be using the Nomad Diablo GT-1, Loskey.

Thursday, no exams, no class. But if the race reach 00:00 here on Brazil....... i'm done. :dopey:

Did a bit of both actually. Thought I was just imagining it but yeah it did seem slightly trickier online for some reason.

Unfortunately though I will have to pull out as I'm in the process of getting my T500 RS RMA'd as it went tits up the other night :(

Might drop by and spectate if that's okay?
