Hello and welcome to The Crazy Expensive Car!

This is Volume 1 and our theme is... *drumroll* Electric Cars!

With the technologies of today, manufacturers are all thinking of how to apply this to their cars and every auto show, show a new electric concept. But when they finally go into production, they all are too expensive! Yes, it may be cheaper when used for 5 years, with the petrol prices rising higher than ever. A full recharge for an electric car only costs 3 and a half quid! But are the prices justifiable? We are here to find out!

The Crazy Expensive Car! - Chapter 1 - Mitsubishi i-MiEV

I pulled up at the Bilam Niedertor cafe in Ahrweiler in an Mitsubishi i-MiEV. Mitsubishi had agreed to lend it to us, so here it is, covered in vinyls.

I decided to get a hot nutella and wait for my fellow presenter, Clara Scherzinger. I posed a challenge for her which was to get a car that pretty much had the same specifications but for at least HALF the price. But anyway, I shall share with you the specifications.

Mitsubishi i-MIEV

Displacement - ?
Performance - 63HP - 4200rpm
Torque - 133 ft-lb - 1000rpm
Drivetrain - MR (mid-engined, rear wheel drive)
Length - 3395mm
Width - 1475mm
Height - 1610mm
Weight - 1100kg
Performance Points - 296
Price - 46,000 cr

I should have a bit of explanation about the car. This is a kei car produced by Mitsubishi. There is a petrol version being sold today. MiEV stands for Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle, as shown as a vinyl on the side of our borrowed car.

Shortly after, Clara arrived.

She turned the steering wheel...

to parallel park.

She got out of the car and into the cafe.

"Hey!"
"Hey. Why are you late?"
"Sorry, there was a jam nearby. Anyway, let's get to business. This is a Suzuki Cervo SR '07. It costs 14,180 cr. I'll give you the brochure on the specifications."
"Alright."

She handed me the brochure and I looked in it.

Suzuki Cervo SR '07

Displacement - 658 cc
Performance - 61hp - 6500rpm
Torque - 69 ft-lb - 3700rpm
Drivetrain - FF (front engined, front wheel drive)
Length - 3395mm
Width - 1475mm
Height - 1535mm
Weight - 820kg
Performance Points - 303
Price - 14,180 cr O.O

We quickly left the cafe and for Autumn Ring Mini.

*-*-*-*-*-*

First up, the Cervo!

Across the line to signify the start of 100 percent concentration in driving. But, the Cervo starts to understeer at the first corner in typical FF fashion.

But, it soon recovered and I passed the next corners with ease.

Wow, this really handles well for a small and cheap car.

Last corner!

And across the line again!

After a couple of laps, I pitted to find out about my lap times.

"Hey, so how are my laptimes?"
"Not bad, 53.559 seconds."
"Great! Can I have the keys to the i-MiEV?"
"Sure."

I hopped out of the Cervo and into the i-MiEV.

Soon, I got to the starting line to signify the start of the hotlaps.

The first corner was alright compared to the Cervo.

But for some reason, I started to get serious oversteer.

Very soon, it recovered from the oversteer.

And again, I suffered serious oversteer. *facepalm*

Again, it recovered. Last corner!

And across the line!

After five laps of improving my mistakes, I went to the pits.

"So how is it?"
"Your best lap is 55.489 seconds. Which means... the Cervo's beaten the i-MiEV."
"Woohoo!"
"Yeah. We better return the car to Mitsubishi."
"Alright."

We drove back to the office to get the verdict.

Mitsubishi i-MiEV

Styling - 10 out of 10 - Definitely a winner. It's so cute, how to resist?

Performance - 7 out of 10 - The acceleration is lacking, low top speed...

Handling - 5 out of 10 - Serious oversteer.

Interior - 3 out of 10 - The same stuff as the Cervo.

Price - 1 out of 10 - Simply outrageous. We gave it a point for being under 100,000 cr.

Verdict - 6 out of 10 - Outrageous price, alright performance, bad handling but great styling.

Suzuki Cervo SR '07

Styling - 7 out of 10 - It's alright.

Performance - 8 out of 10 - Better than the i-MiEV.

Handling - 5 out of 10 - Same with the i-MiEV, but opposite.

Interior - 10 out of 10 - It is very well furnished for a car of that price. Bravo Suzuki!

Price - 10 out of 10 - What a bargain! Look up ^

Verdict - 8 out of 10 - It's definitely worth more than what it is actually worth, what more?

Out of curiosity, we decided to look for a better car with the same or lower price. We eventually found...

the Camaro SS '10.

Costing 35 grand, it's cheaper by 10 thousand credits, which gives you a better budget for tuning. But if you are an eco-friendly person, Honda is here to help.

Regardless if you are a young driver,

Or a family driver,

There is a eco-friendly car for you.

-*-*-*-*

What do you think? :)

*EDIT - Added a verdict for the Cervo and bolded some words.

Good report. So, a Suzuki Cervo is definitely the better car, but half the price? Good reviews of each of the cars. :)

Rather good:D
Nice to see you've gotten your willpower back! Or perhaps your inspiration...👍

What's next?

*I can help provide select expensive cars since you're already on my friends list.

Haha, thanks for the help. It'll be the Tesla for Chapter 2 and Citroen GT for Chapter 3. Then it'll be Volume 2 because Electric Cars is the theme for Volume 1. :D I'm planning for Supercars to be the theme of Volume 2.

What's going up against the Tesla? My money's on a Lotus Evora.

What's going up against the Tesla? My money's on a Lotus Evora.

The thing about this is that we use cars that are much cheaper than the electric car. So, it's impossible to be an Evora because both are 100k. Hope you will enjoy the next chapter, planning it now.

Chapter 2 - Tesla Roadster

Clara here. I was turning into the place we agreed to meet when...

Oh no. Zach's already here.

Oh well. I had to park.

We had a bet of who arrived first won a can of Coke. I got out of the car and ran for the vending machine.

*back*

"Thanks for the Coke!"
"Argh. Stop bragging."

So here are the specs of the Tesla.

Displacement - ?
Power – 278hp – 5500rpm
Torque – 273 ft-lb – 2000rpm
Drivetrain – MR
Weight - 1238kg
Performance Points – 463
Price - 100,000 cr.

(P.S. This is actually Zach's car. It's a familiar sight in TCEC's office's carpark. Don't expect it to perform well in my hands.)

And, the Impreza.

Displacement - 1994 cc
Performance - 305 HP – 6500rpm
Torque – 318 ft-lb – 4000rpm
Drivetrain – 4WD
Weight - 1470kg
Performance Points – 464

The battle of just ONE performance point... who will dominate? We went to Tsukuba to find out.

First across the line, the Tesla!

Oversteer immediately attacks at the first corner...

And recovers...

Again, oversteer attacks! What is wrong?

Why is it that all electric cars that I have tested so far have so much oversteer?

Last corner!

And past the line.

After a couple of laps, I knew there was no hope. I pitted to find out about my results.

"Best lap - 1.05.488. Get out of my car..."
"Alright..."
"Here are the keys."
"Thanks."

I zoomed off in the Impreza.

Okay, across the line!

I clipped the apex...

Wow, this is really a masterpiece.

And across the line!

I got Whatsapped by Zach, saying - "The Impreza's beaten the Tesla already. 1.04.382! Now go to the pits."

I quickly pitted.

We went back to the office to get the verdict.

Tesla Roadster '08

Performance - 8 out of 10 - Pretty good.
Handling - 5 out of 10 - Serious oversteer.
Interior - 5 out of 10 - Empty, like a Lotus.
Practicality - 6 out of 10 - 2 seater.
Price - 4 out of 10 - 100k cr?!

Verdict - 7 out of 10. It's not a perfect car and never will be.

Subaru Impreza WRX STi '07

Performance - 10 out of 10 - Great!
Handling - 10 out of 10 - Great handling...
Interior - 8 out of 10 - Has everything you need...
Practicality - 10 out of 10 - 4 door and 4 seater!
Price - 10 out of 10 - 36 grand!

Verdict - 9 out of 10. It's a great car, surely recommended.

What time did the Tesla get?

Also, ZS, a bit of advice...throttle control goes a long way.

>_< i just noticed that i didn't post for a LONG time.

Anyway, i'm trying to get back in the fan fiction scene - and I believe it's a new idea. So, this is just a prologue, just want to hear your opinions, that's why I didn't make a new thread.

More about this FF - it's about this girl's quest of love round the world and it's divided into two parts - Quest of Love is part one and there's pretty much no drama but How Deep Is Your Love? is part two and it's where all the drama starts. Actually I haven't even planned to actually continue writing but well, yeah.

Quest Of Love - Prologue

It was 3 months after my husband died. I was still at home, lamenting about his death. Today, my parents and friends came to visit me to comfort me. After they left, I started to think.

Should I move on and find true love... round the world while engaging in another love of mine, racing?

I decided to go for a drive.

Seeing the familiar Tokyo roads comforted me as I drove to the cemetery.

I walked to his tombstone and pondered till the end of the day... I could almost feel his presence. It's still pretty hard to make a decision at this time - would I be successful or just be left broken again? I think it needs more time.

If you guys think it's good and I should continue it, what should be her first destination? ^_^

Hmmm, maybe a little fast moving. I think you should stick with the should I race for a little while. Not too long though. Though I do like the idea.
