Picked this up at the LBS (local bike shop). The owner builds a new top end bike every year and sell it at the end of our northwest cycling season. So I got it for $5500. To build this bike from the ground up I would have tp spend approx. $13,000. So I spent my limit and made out like a bandit compared to similarly priced new bikes.
(2011 S-works are about $6,000 right now)
Why? same reason anyone spends cash on the things they love.

I bought this 2 days ago, replaced the griptape, purchased new look pedals, had a little freebie maintenence work done and boom, it's virtually indistinguishable from brand new, and the guy is giving me his full bike shop support as long as I need it.

Today I took it for a little 25 miler. Have you ever switched from a high mileage middle of the field sports car(camaro, mustang, miata, 350z, celica, prelud, etc). To a no budget, barely legal race car ( Aventador, Zonda, Bugatti, Mclaren, whatever). Very similar feeling I had today. Like I just shifted my viewpoint on the sport and I comprehend something I did not before, now that I experienced it. I am extremely pleased.
