This tune is set for drag racing at Indy.
At the end of the Indy strip there is a shadow that people use as the finish line. When slash says traps 161, he is saying at the shadow the car is travelling at 161mph

Just like when you get a speeding ticket and it shows your speed at that time and place. This is essentially what trap is in this case.
