F.I.T.T Tunes the Seasonal Beta - A-Spec 500PP FR Challenge June 6

s2k2k3
Later on I'll post my 400PP tunes for the Opera and V8S.

Since the obvious goal is to win with the minimum PP to get the maximum bonus...

Why don't you pick one of the 5 tracks and do a minimum PP tune for your favorite FR car.

Are you tuning a car that will work on all tracks? Or is that just a dream, and can't be done?

450PP? Too much for Cape Ring, wayyy too little for HSR and Tokyo. :P

Midget II it is then

I really cant find a car or PP limit that I want to work on.

Any ideas?
Yeah do what I'm currently doing, grab a cheap FR out of your UCD then see how little you can spend on upgrades to get it to win one of the seasonal races. Lets see who can build the cheapest "budget beater" car.
All GT Auto services are considered free except for the Aero parts and RM conversions.
Also lets take into account the cars final PP since it affects the payout. So for example I just picked up a high mileage Silvia Q's Aero (S14) '96 for Cr12,838 that has 378PP after the engine rebuild. Also grabbed a Mustang GT '05 for Cr22,196 that has 457PP after engine overhaul. The Mustang is probably pretty close to winning stock but the S14 might be able to win at a lower PP meaning it can earn more money even if the investment in parts ends up making it a bit more expensive initially.:odd:

It's easy to get a car/tune that will work for every track, but it will be too much PP for the technical tracks if it's fast enough for R246 and HSR.

My tunes will work for all with only transmission and power adjustments.

Very good idea as well. I must try this :dopey:

Getting back to the original post, this will be very helpful in general. I would add though, besides just posting the tune with the PP and money won, you actually need to post the AI you ran against because the AI you run against matters very much as to how low PP you can win with.

Good point actually.

How many tunes can we post then as a tuner?

No limit. This is just for fun and to build exposure for F.I.T.T. in general. I hope that people enjoy trying out our tune and that some will want to join us as testers for future events.

Although I'm not a member of F.I.T.T. nor do I have a tuning garage, I may just enter this as an independent. I have no problems being able to tune a car. Sounds like a great challenge.

KB - you are always welcome.

Tokyo R246

Done. Supra tune on Tokyo. Love that car and that track.

I'd be a happier bunny if there was a set PP limit really... since otherwise it's tuning purely on the feel of the car. Which is also alright I guess.

Part of the fun is seeing how low you can push the PP limit. I have only driven Tokyo so far and am shooting for cars that can do this with under 420PP. So far, I just can't beat the M3 with my MX5.

Great suggestion. Updated the OP.

I'm struggling with anything below about 450PP on Tokyo, on HSR I barely beat the Shelby One with 490PP...

You could also tune for all out speeeeed, and see how big a victory you can get :dopey:

How about this. Anyone have any suggestions for a car to tune for Cape Ring. I'll tune specific for this track, just request a car and I'll see what I can do with it. I'm currently doing the last 24hr. A-Spec race for platinum on my main and also taking part in this weeks WRS TT, but I'm sure I can fit this in also.

Okay the AI is very uneven as usual in this seasonal.
Cape Ring got the Series One on poll, stomped my poor 415PP S14 by over 13 seconds. Left and came back, had a RX-7 Type RS (FD) '00 on the poll. Beat it at 410PP and think I can win at 405PP if I run a good race.
When I find the lowest PP I can win with I'll post the parts list and total cost of the car. No real tune here as I'm running totally stock transmission, drive train, and suspension, just using SM tires and power adders. Total cost of car and parts will be under 30,000Cr though.:D

I'm using the BMW concept 1 series tii for this event and its absolutely immense fair play :) I have one hell of a good tune for it and it absolutely flies round the corners :) if anyone is interested I'll put the tune on here along with the parts I have installed on it :)

I won by 13 seconds at CR with 400 even. Opera S2000. I think 370 or so is possible.

An even better goal.

Please do. It's kind of the point of this forum - a fun place for people to post tunes. I will add links from the OP to the tunes posted within this forum.

Well looking like with the right competition from the AI (no Series One on poll:yuck:)my S14 should be able to win at 398PP.
Giving the S14 a rest at the moment though as I just picked up an '85 RX-7 for 13,000Cr and change and think I'll be able to win with about the same PP as the S14 with a lower budget. Trying to get a win with a car for less than Cr25,000.:gtpflag:

RX-7 GT-Limited (FC, J) '85, 37,524KM/23,452.5 miles, 395PP after engine rebuild.
Cr13,720 for car from UCD + Cr7,000 for Sports Medium tires for total cost of Cr20,720.
1st place Cape Ring Inside
AI field:
1)Supra RZ '97
2)RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) '02
3)Fairlady Z (Z34) '08
4)Fairlady Z 300ZX TT 2seater (Z32) '89
5)190E 2.5-16 Evolution II '91
6)Mustang GT '05
7)SC430 (US) '01
8)330i '05
9)V8S '91
10)Camaro Z28 coupe '97
11)GS 300 '00

Might be a cheaper lower PP car out there that could win against this field but I'm happy with this.:D:gtpflag:

I am determined to make a sub 400PP car work somewhere.

Hey MCH, I'm a noob and know very little about tuning, so for this seasonal for kicks I ran a Mazda - RX-8 Concept (Type-II) '01 with the DEFAULT SETUP at the high speed ring, I added a bunch of rigidity, weight reduction and engine parts to get it to 500PP and it absolutley destroyed the field. I secured P1 on lap 2. Is that car/track combo a candidate for your quest to create a sub 400pp car somewhere? I'd be happy to do some further testing with someones setup on that car. Cheers!

That's a good car for this, but pointless to race it at 500PP. I may have to do a tune for that car? So many to pick from.

Won Cape ring Rt 385 PP, by .6 sec, $1.163,470 in the GT86.
I'd like to see a tune the 370 PP winners use.

Found the LFA killed the opposition at Cape Ring with nothing bought, 200kg added (max) and lowest PP, 440 (269hp) $885,000.

Would love to be able to drop the PP further on this car but can't do it.

Sorry, meant it killed them at High Speed Ring.

Use the Power Limiter.

That may be the only way to get it down as 440 PP is as low as it goes.

I might even try that 9 hr tonight, maybe even a 12hr race for good measure.

I'd start it now but both the boys are playing on the PS3's now, (after school).

Thanks for that Phoenix.

That's what the 370PP winners are using including myself.

What is the AI lineup for those 370PP wins?
Also what driving aids are you using?

While I'm sure I could shave a few PP off my 395PP RX-7 with a full tune instead of just the tire swap I did, 25PP is a lot at this level.:odd:

Thanks StGeorge for that tune. Hope I can say I was able to win with it, but...........we'll see.
