Updated post with some info about appropriate track boundaries. Just common sense stuff really, but better to make it clear :P

I am redrawing my entry, as I will not be able to participate in the first three races. Last minute holliday and the 24hrs of Francorchamps are preventing my participation. Have fun guys. 👍

So I ran some laps at Tsubuka in the ole miata, I had it decently set up for sports softs but throwing the mediums on it and it's like the track is wet. I've never ran a race this long but is there some strategy that you have before the start of the race or do you just kind of see how it plays out?

Should be fun, neat little track.

My advice, don't use anything but sport Softs, the difference in wear is minimal and the difference in lap times is quite large. IMO of course. 👍

I agree with bdubclub. If it was racing tires it might be different, but on sports tires in a 70 minute race it's not worth it to switch to anything else except sports soft. Unless, of course, you're keeping up with people in sports mediums. Then you can play around with the tires, but I'm usually at the bottom half of the pack, so I don't know what that's like :P

As far as when to pit, I just keep an eye on my lap times, if they drop off to like 3 seconds off my best time, I usually pit. That's a rough rule for me, but you should also keep an eye on when other people are pitting as well.

looking forward to it mate, put down overkiller-63 for the event, he will join if it doesnt interfere with his college commitments, which begs the question, what time will the races be if you are in america?

Thanks for the update.

Depends where in america heh. But the main post has some of that info. I'll talk to him on PSN if he's available too.

yeah he will be on later tonight, he is in columbia, but hes got great internet, never lags lol

Not specifically. He accepted my friend request, so getting into the lounge shouldn't be a problem. I'll be sending out a reminder later on today to everyone, so hopefully that should clear up any confusions if there any.

Thanks for letting me know in advance.

Tsukuba race today is scheduled for 66 laps, but will change depending on what kind of qualifying times people are getting.

Thanks for racing guys. Sorry about the qualifying situation, not sure what happened there. I'll update the main post with how we're going to fix that for future races.

Results will be posted tomorrow.

Everything was history for me after turn 4, that was interesting. I thought we were going to restart, but o well. No big deal, I did find I don't too much like heavy/full damage. I barely tapped my fender and I can't drive the thing straight. How they fix that in 10 seconds, I don't know.

mate is there any chance we can get the time slot moved forward 2.5 hours? its just going to be difficult for me to make races at that time slot "prior real life commitments"

if it cant I understand,

I'd have to ask everyone that signed up. If one person objects, I'd have to keep it at the same time, since it's been scheduled at that time for quite a while.

thats cool man, i got a feeling after my dominance lots of people will object lol

its fine if it cant, i just got real lucky today, with the weather lol and the race,

Sorry dave (can I call you dave?), some people can't make the race any earlier.

Going to have to keep it at the same time.

Here is the race replay data from my console. Pretty clean replay. Except Brad was a little jittery, which is typical for him and me. Speaking of which, Brad (3rd at the time) and I (6th) had some exciting laps between 25 and 35. Around lap 30, Drew and al joined the fun, and Drew eventually took Brad's position. That's what clean racing should look like. I was eating Brad bumper the whole time, and never had any problematic contact.

Overkill, it was YOU bumping me on turn one of lap one! I was cleanly past you before starting to brake. I even tapped my brake to warn you before I started braking in earnest - however, I realize there may be some delay on the light. Elmo always says the brake lights are delayed. Still, there is no shame in breaking early but light in a large pack.

It was very clean, I think I only had contact a couple times and it was minimal, everyone gave a lot of room.

Except one time when I thought it was a good idea to go side by side after turn one, hello grass. Totally my fault, who would try a pass there? I started to lose judgement late in the race trying to make up time.

The beginning of the race didn't go as well as I would have liked, including that whole qualifying situation blah, but other than that I think the race went pretty well.

As a reminder, damage can be amplified because of different connections, so be careful.

Spa should be fun, especially if it starts raining lol
