First impressions of the Mugen CR-Z are very impressive. I took it for a shakedown test at GlenCoe Valley and I like it very much. The handling is superb with only very slight understeer and the turbo power pulls well out of the corners.

I plan to go to other tracks during the 90's season to evaluate it's performance but so far things are looking good.

You did a fine job of creating a fun hybrid hot hatch Snake.

I'm also working on 3 cars for the new 80's JDM Seasonal, they're not online ready though... but I intend to update the specs after I've ran them online for a bit, but they're certainly lots of fun!

Normally, hybrids have never been my kettle of fish particularly when it comes to touge, but this Mugen specification Honda CR-Z hybrid is unlike conventional hybrids.


With around 200 horsepower,it feels really sprightly through the corners with little signs of understeer. Push beyond your limits and the front will push wide, but if you balance the throttle through the corners to keep the front wheels on the limit of grip, then it feels superb. Getting on the throttle out of the corners, there is a little bit of tug from the front as the wheels scrabble for grip but the turbo power helps to pull you out of the corners and up hills with relative ease.

Under braking the back feels a bit loose but it will allow a better placement to aim the front for the apex of a corner. With more than adequate performance, you can carry sufficient speed through the corners whilst balancing the car on the grip limits.

Spending some time driving the car at GlenCoe Valley and Gunsai Touge, the Mugen CR-Z felt really fast and balanced through both the fast areas and the technical sections. I felt most happy with the car at Serra Da Freita where the car felt even better.

Overall, the Mugen CR-Z is a very fun hybrid hot hatch that delivers a lot of surprises when it comes to the prejudices against hybrids. This proves that going green does not mean being dull and boring.

Here at TCB, we're always busy testing and tweaking our setups. Most of which take a good deal of time from our busy schedules to run online to ensure they're competitive. There are a good deal of new setups on the way from myself and OSE_CAP__SHADOW in the coming weeks but we would like to know which kinds of setups you, the "customer", would like to see more of. After many months on & off tuning on the SV Titan, I have finally tamed down the looseness of the rear end of this car. I still urge that some care is taken racing this car on Sports Hards, But on Sports Softs for track use it's great fun...

The tuning values are realistic and consistently so and the cars fit my driving style. I like a balanced car that's fast and stable but also controllable when I want to hoon around.

I really, really want an amuse r1 titan s2000 because it seems like it would be the best 500PP s2000 in the game and everything that I want in a car. Plus I own two s2000s in real life, so that's a factor too.

edit: after a long wait I've finally come across a BMW M coupe '98 and would love a 450 or 500PP tune for it!
