Drifting got easier?

Just in a D-Max session with a few guys and it seems drifting has got easier. Feels like you can get a lot more lock, what are your opinions?

I see what you mean. CH seem to have more grip or something. Some of my cars feel like bullets now.

My supra couldn't do reverse entries. Now with this update, I can go wayyyy beyond my usual limits. I can also hold a slide on a straight when trying to link a turn which would demand manji!. Like Grand valley, The tunnel. Out the chicane, in to the tunnel and in to the left, All in one go!

I'm finding it harder on my wheel, Iv been learning for two week now and was kind of getting the hang of it untill this update, now I'm back to square one lol.

Yes, there is less undeersteer now. Making the cars more of a joy to drift.

Any one drift in HUD view?. All you can hear is the transmission screaming no exhaust noise at all. so annoying

Drifting on the DFGT just felt more.. relaxed? Less twitchy corrections, more enjoying the drifting. Will experiment more tomorrow.

HUD view? Wut? Hood do you mean? That's just the Racing gearbox doing it's job.

Prime example! You might want to turn your sound down as this progresses.

Well we say bonnet lol. It sounded nothing like it does now, before the update , it just sounds stupid now. I want to hear my car not just the transmission. Also in your m3 video notice you still hear the exhaust lol. That racing m3 is beast I'm driving an s15.

I don´t know how the clutch change influenced the drifting in general, but there are 2 another things that should bring attention:

- Amount of air resistance change when altering aerodynamic wing settings has been increased.
- Adjusted the changes in control characteristic when altering vehicle height from standard height. (Vehicle height can be changed by adjusting ride height, either by installing a suspension kit or adjusting a full customizable suspension kit.)

Most of you uses the rear slighty lower than the front and something near to zero camber on rear, and you did it not because is the more realistic, but because game physics was set to give advantages on this. Also there are aero and drag changes that must be more studed, im seeing some people complaining about understering on their cars...

EDIT:

After an extended session of experiments today with a well trusted car, i also noticed that this update also affected the suspension and aero standards. I gotta still figuring if its only my impression or not. The weight shifting is not that precise anymore, the understers is happening more times than usual, and sometimes feels like the drift initiation is harder than normal.

I don´t know, guys. Are u feeling the same or im just paranoic?

I saw some guy who mentioned that now in 2.0.8, the parts of Nurburg that would send the GT86 spinning off into the trees are now much safer. So I'm sure there is some form of 'snap' reduction, probably adjustments to how fast tyres loose and regain grip. Not sure if it's down the ride height, but all my cars are fully dropped.

Ive spent a lot of time today and yesturday testing out and Ive noticed a huge improvement on the pad.. A lot more relaxed feeling but there seem to be issues with the car reving.. It full of dead spots.. I have to drop down and shift up to get out of the bog..

I will be testing online tonight as the differences online and off line were immense imo...

Glad other people are noticing change I thought it was just me...

When I was drifting online earlier tonight with my Sil80 the car felt a lot more forgiving and it seemed that it could achieve more angle more easily. When I was drifting the large tunnel turn on SSR5, I felt I could get really sideways with the car and that I could reach the limit more

There definitely is more grip on CH tires. I was in an all japanese room last night and those guys were literally flying around the track on CH like if there was no way possible to throw the cars off or lose control. Or maybe they just had a ton of experienced guys because they were talkin back and forth usin kanji but I did catch that they were tellin each other about making their car weight balance 50:50.

Sidenote: one of them even started tandem with me after I started using the diahatsu midget and he got his. Too funny.

Things are different that's for sure. Did not spend much time yet as I have been busy but I did feel increased grip and a better sense of speed, and noticed way higher speedometer reading through a lot of sections. Will try it out more later.

My Sprinter has a hard time breaking traction now it seems, but all my other cars feel like they're easier now.

Also, I went to tune a Supra RZ, and every time I tune a car I do a couple laps stock to get a feel for the car and what I'm going to try and change about it. However, with this Supra RZ it was drifting very very easily completely stock. It made it hard for me to tune because I had no idea what to work on. I'm not sure if that's just me sucking, or if this update has changed the way cars react to being sideways. I know before the update it felt like it was easier to tune and figure out how a car worked.

Aerodynamica has changed. Your car will respond different with a wing or without wing when you are ''high'' speed drifting.

Probably the speed of cars with wings is increased, they changed Aero for the new Red Bull 5G car.

What if the CH grip break ratios changed?
Before the last patch, when my cars was still and i pump the accel once, it used to take some few seconds to recover grip, like if the tires was "melting". Now it looks like they recover grip a bit faster. It´s positive in one side, but demands adaptation when you are pumping the throtle in midle of a overstering situation, cose depending the accel of your car, the grip recover will comes back before you notice.

It´s just impression, but perhaps i may be right on this.

I had this feeling too, doing the Nordscheife DT
I have many accounts and I use the same exact car for every one of them (5)
Some tryout was a few moment before 2.08 then after.

Glad to see i'm not the only one with this impression.

My camaro is way too grippy. On transitions it just wants to fight me now, and yes I have messed with the aeros too. Looks like its back to tuning for me..

So maybe its time to use some rear camber or decrease the rear toe?

Oh by the way... in the last post where i said "brake", i mean "break".

There is a lot of grip in my Camaro RM too.. Feels quite a bit heavier than 1200kg.. Doesnt want to transition as quick...

I'm going to mess around more with my cars tomorrow night. I was in an online room with 16 people and Suzuka East, so yeah not a good way to tune a car. :scared:

Well it appears to be clear that we all notice a difference in tyre grip when drifting. Is this for better or worse though? Is GT5 now more realistic or less realistic?
