FITT Fall Battle 2.0 - Coastal Concept Challenge: Praiano wins!

Hey any suggestions on how to slow down 1650kg from 160mph to take turn 1 without leaving black marks for a quarter of the front stretch and half the turn?

Brake earlier. Stiffer front/rear springs maybe?
Springs are nearly maxed out already, braking earlier would sort of defeat the purpose of accelerating up to those speeds anyways. Pretty happy with the braking elsewhere on the track as generally all it takes is a light tap except for the hairpin at the top before the loop. But hauling all that weight down to a speed where you can actually make the first turn is driving me crazy.

Ehh…I don't know then…tighter/closer gearing?

Threshold braking and trail braking maybe ? Is your car on share ? I might be able to help, I'll try to find the latest braking point and make suggestion on the BB :)

You can also try Hyundai Clix, it's 4wd and can be tuned to 550pp, I have one if you want, free.

Thanks for the offer but I have several Clix and unfortunately its not only slow but doesn't like this track at all. Think I just need to take a break from tuning for the day.

Eh…might have to resort to something else then. They aren't that bad though. :P

Does the NSX-R concept allow for adjustable front downforce when a wing in added?

On second thought, I don't know if I really want the answer. The wing on the car now looks way more cool than the three after market crappy offerings in the GT Auto.

Eh…nope. That's the LM Proto you're thinking of.

Don't need to care for looks all too much though, really. :P

Eh, I don't know about that... I tune for aesthetics too. :D

Regarding grouping, since it looks like we will get 15+ tunes I will divide them into two groups trying to keep similar cars together. We'll say top three in a final group with a couple days to tweak, same track and a couple more days for drivers.

Complaints? Suggestions?

I don't mind grouping the cars, I'll be happy with a group of cars with 2:4x.xxx lap times, my car is kind of slow

In this conditions i can test one group, can be 2 but not sure.

Grouping the cars ain't no problem, it'll be better for me because I'm finding it hard to take Rune Factory out of the PS3.

I didn't test all the cars. Like the nardo concept or other GTR black mask.... But the Citroen and the GT-R concept are the fastest i've tested.
I would like to drive the Viper , but the one i have need too much power limiter to be performant (engine 3) ,need around 60%...I think the stock with his originals 550PP must be the perfect weapon for this track. I love this car.

Some other with no chance speaking about lap time are very good to drive. For example the Honda dual note, very smooth, and of course the NSX concept.

At the end i've decide myself for the GT-R because it was a challenge to make this car so sharp and fast. I'm very satisfied the way it drive . You can test it, it's on share.:)👍

Have a good night.

EDIT: Nardo is out, need 200 kg ballast, aero minimum and 85% limiter...
I was toying with the idea of the Viper(which I havent driven yet in GT5), the NSX(same) and the LeMans Quattro if I have a high-mile one.
If a Viper can be competitive in a shootout, I feel obligated.

Hmm…ah, whatever then. :P

And my Viper is on share…I'm fairly happy with it as is, I just need to wait for break in to be complete and mess around with the gearbox a bit to let it use the power. So…do your thing, ugabugaz, I guess. You still owe me a test. :P

Let me start off by saying I don't like Vipers in GT5. Now onto your particular Viper. I had high hopes I would like this particular Viper because generally I like Onboy tunes. Onboy, You've made an abomination. This Viper is so lifeless, so vacuum like, I could probably drive it half asleep. The exhaust note doesn't help since it's an On/Off buzzing annoyance of some kind. It actually sounds like an electric car if I'm being honest. Is it easy to drive? Yes! Is the tune great? Yes! Do I want to drive the Viper? No! What you've made Onboy, is a Viper GT-R.

Now some off-ranting points that may help you. Car is a bit understeery at limit, and especially at high radius turns. See if you can give it a bit more front bite. Didn't find any other faults.

Time: 1:39.3XX - I know there's around .3 seconds I lost in the lap (As compared to my best composite).

The Viper with 0 miles or low miles sits right at 550PP no oil change so should do very well. The LeMans Quattro would need to be fairly high mileage to make 550PP, I looked at one of my low mileage ones and with no oil change or engine rebuild, 200kg of ballast and 5% power limiter it was at 555PP. Haven't got a clue about the NSX.

HSR-II

You might want to consider adding ballast trackripper. I tested my HSR-II with 160KG of ballast to the back and it did it in 1:43.2XX at only 545PP.

Well... made a huge number of adjustments due to that video replay, let's hope they're for the better and not the worse.

A huge thank you to NEWDRIVER and ugabugaz :) I was thinking about adding ballast anyway. How much until 50/50 balance?

EDIT: Uhmm... NEWDRIVER, can you work out which parts will get me to 550PP with the new ballast affecting the PP?

Yes sure i will do it now my friend . :)

Car not on share now

Edit :

1- if i add 65kg to rear @50 the balance become 52/48 . Weight 1255kg

2- if i add 107kg to rear @50 the balance become 50/50. Weight 1297kg
So i can add ( stage 1 weight reduction) then the car weight become 1225kg and 548pp and i will add ( racing air filter ) it will be 550pp .

Tell me if its okey like that for second choice . :)

Edit :
I don't like to mess with it i just have one so i'm waitting for the confirm .

That 2nd option sounds good, can you do that for me and take it for another short drive maybe?
Can't thank you enough. :)

Add Opition one

1- Weight Reduction stage 1
524HP 1225Kg 548pp. Power limiter 95,2% .

Change the power limiter to 97.1% it will give : 535Hp 550pp. @ 1225kg

Add opition two

1- Weight Reduction stage 1
524HP 1225Kg 548pp. Power limiter 95,2% .

2- Racing Air Filter change power limiter to 95.9%
533Hp 550pp @1225kg

Simply adding weight has never once made a car quicker that I've seen, fwiw.
It makes them feel better, easier to drive, etc, but never actually faster, always slower once the limit is reached.

Well, You don't "just" add weight. You add weight and then increase power until you get to the PP. The stock car is very understeery - having a rear biased weight distribution helps tremendously with cornering. Reason why my car was at 545PP is because I hadn't done Stage 1 Engine and I simply couldn't add any more power with just bolt-ons.

The weight reduction one, 2nd option. :)

Ron, its the HSR-II, not the HSC. Thanks though, appreciate it. :)
