FITT Fall Battle 2.0 - Coastal Concept Challenge: Praiano wins!

Aw, thank you :embarrassed: I'll pretend to be a Best Motoring test driver:dopey:

Another question to DB, should I run the test with my own preferred BB or tune's BB ? I'm fine either way, but for better reflection of my driving and best possible time, my own BB would be best and comments about the tune would be more accurate. Of course ,tuners should have no issue as my time is only for reference, right ?

Since your results are ultimately just informational you could try a few laps with the tune as is and a few with your settings for BB.

If I'm not to late I'd like to try and get a car entered for this.

Must apologize to everyone for my disappearance, lot of stuff going on for me (most of it not good:() and just haven't had the motivation to run GT5.Hopefully this will help cure some of my blues.

Glad to have you! :) Hope you have some fun with this and things pick up for you.

I want ask that we are runing our cars in Cape Ring ??? Or another Cape Ring not in my track list  .
I saw praiano post lap time 2:37.xxx or 2:36.xxx but me i can get high 2:45.xxx or 2:44.xxx . So i am very slow and my car slowest :( .
Sorry i know that this question asked before but ?? :dopey:

Yep, full course. I suppose I could make that clearer in the OP.

ugabugaz
I'm sure it is, but just to make sure, Is it allowed, Mr. Tuning Competition Host Person Sir?

Also..err which car is it?

It's fine, no worries. :) We've had remote tuners from the start of these shootouts so I don't see any reason to not allow it.

I will update the front when I'm not on the mobile app. I'll also look at breaking down into 2 or 3 groups since that seems to be more convenient for people.

Thank you DB, :embarrassed::embarrassed: I'll do 5 laps with tuner's BB and another 5 with my preferred BB. I will also make a thorough review for each, hopefully the result would be very useful for tuners.

What sort of result format would you like me to present ? Time and comments ? I don't need to give any score, right ? since my test are just informational.

I can't wait to test them all:tup:

Here is my entry. The picture is what it is, just a standard car by a standard photograph .:ouch:

The tune is ONLINE OK but it's only good for this kind of tracks, where you throw the car from one full grip to the other, at the limit all the time. It's not good for precision and sharp driving line like on the Nordschleife. I have another tune for this that i'll publish soon.

Enjoy your drive.

Done, car on share in a few.

Took a bunch of cars for a spin, because why not. Only remember 1 of the top of my head, I'll post the rest later.

NEWDRIVER - 1:39.4XX - Lovely gold car.

Is the Nissan the fastest for you, Praiano?

I didn't test all the cars. Like the nardo concept or other GTR black mask.... But the Citroen and the GT-R concept are the fastest i've tested.
I would like to drive the Viper , but the one i have need too much power limiter to be performant (engine 3) ,need around 60%...I think the stock with his originals 550PP must be the perfect weapon for this track. I love this car.

Some other with no chance speaking about lap time are very good to drive. For example the Honda dual note, very smooth, and of course the NSX concept.

At the end i've decide myself for the GT-R because it was a challenge to make this car so sharp and fast. I'm very satisfied the way it drive . You can test it, it's on share.:)👍

Have a good night.

EDIT: Nardo is out, need 200 kg ballast, aero minimum and 85% limiter...

Are you running the right track, uga? Your time should be another minute higher...give or take. :odd:

Time and comments would be fine. If you record times with both BB settings that would be great to see the difference. No need to worry about drivers choice scoring unless you are bored. :D

I put a 1 instead of 2..Woops :) And yes Cape Ring.

So as promised I have some times and comments. Initially I was only going to do the airplane car but...I wanted more so, here you go Tunas.

1) NEWDRIVER2 - 2:39.489 - HSC
Car is ready to go in my opinion. I can't really find anything wrong with it at all. Perhaps make it a tad more stable for testers, for me though it's great. Job well done, good luck in the competition.

2) trackripper's Batmobile HSR-II - 2:43.634
Funny but I was considering tuning this car as well. I had a rough tune going but then I decided to scrap it because it just wasn't fast enough. Your car is great at power delivery but it's very understeery. It plows into corners - I experienced the same thing with mine. Experiment with ballast. I found for my car adding weight to the back reduced understeer considerably. See if it helps you as well.

3) Ridox's Mullet Mobile - 2:46.618
I was really curious as to how you did in the brakes department this time around, hence why I tested your car. During my entire drive I was convinced the car had a slight rear bias - much to my surprise BB was high and front biased. Lovely brake balance that allows the back to lock on demand and rotate car. Only problem with the brakes is that they don't seem to work. This car has huuuge braking distance. Perhaps because it goes so fast? See if you can reduce brake distance. Other stuff, it's a bit wild under full throttle, see if you can reduce that. Car doesn't like high speed corners (big understeer), and many times when I tried to turn at any mid to high speed corner my DS3 would vibrate. Car doesn't like turning - It still turns but it doesn't like doing it. I think you've done a good job considering the stock car probably isn't all that...sophisticated.

.Done - hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the preliminary test Ugabugaz, I hope the brake balance will perform nicely with other testers. As for the braking distance, sadly the car have less than great brakes, even if I increase the BB to max 10/10, it still a bit lacking. Looks like PD modeled the braking hardware, the old muscle car have less than modern braking system :(.

For handling, yeah I did dial in a touch of understeer on purpose, I was afraid if the car natural oversteer was to be left untouched, testers would have major hard time controlling it. I'll fine tune the ARB or rear toe to make turning easier.
The way I drive it now is by going smooth on entry, lifting off throttle and accelerate by gradually applying throttle. The big S bend after the 1st 180 hairpin can be taken close to 130mph and exiting at 110mph if done right. I hope the LSD works well, I was planning to increase the initial torque to make it a bit alive at the rear.
If the rear tires gets wild, it is due to the massive torque down low from the supercharger, if I remove the SC, the issue practically gone. A major dilemma, as the car suffered in acceleration without SC. I

I'll have to spend more time tuning even further, I think the car is only halfway done ...

EDIT : A tip, shift point is 5100-5200rpm, above that power starts to diminish.

Tested the 3 NISSAN: same tune as my GT-R concept wit 51 KG ballast. exact 50% - 50% weight distribution.

GTR PROTO '05 = 545 HP / 1465 KG
Better top speed than the other 2 ,bad brakes, bad grip.

GTR BLACK MASK = 506 HP / 1483 KG
Best brakes of the 3, best grip slow corners, less retake than CONCEPT (heavier)

GTR CONCEPT = 487 HP / 1320 KG
Lighter very good acceleration out corner, most active and eficient direction and under brake (Easy trail braking). For me the faster around this track and also the more pleasant to drive.

Thank you for the test and the time . you record faster time than me in my car by 5 min 👍

But for trakripper i think you can make more because my time on his car 2:44.xxx so at least you can did 2:41.xxx maybe . And also not that though much understeer on it or maybe because i am on wheel . I don't know ??? But thank you Sir 👍 its just remote tune

I can upload the ghost laps/vids for all 3 laps if that would be helpful.

No need to upload video mate i'm just saying you are faster than me and this is good time thats all . Thank you Sir 👍

I meant more for the HSR-II car but they are all available, and I can just do ghost lap file (not the video- or if you want the video). So you can see what I mean by plowing understeer :P

Let my Citroen GT loose on the Tsukuba 9HR to hopefully do some break in. I have a feeling I'll need to run that race several times before the car is fully ready to go.

That would be useful for me to see, as I haven't driven it and have no idea how the damn car drives.

Okay, So video it is then? Since I'm guessing you're not near a PS3. Regardless, I'll get the stuff up tomorrow (late here). Keep in mind the lap isn't absolute perfection but pretty good everywhere, I think :)

Unless its already spoken for it looks like I'll be entering a Nuvolari Quattro '03.
Doubt it will win lap times as its speed down the front stretch is a bit low, but liking the way it handles on the rest of the track. Luckily I had two of them in my garage since I messed up the first one with a stage 1 weight reduction then found out I couldn't get back down to 550PP under the regs.

Initially I had planned to, but then saw that lineR32 was entering one and started looking for something else. The CZ-3 only goes up to 532PP, the Hyundai HCD6 and Isuzu 4200R only reach about 500PP. The FX45 and Range Stormer are fun but very slow as is the Silverado SST which I almost went with anyways just because its a TRUCK!:crazy:

Hmm…ah, whatever then. :P

And my Viper is on share…I'm fairly happy with it as is, I just need to wait for break in to be complete and mess around with the gearbox a bit to let it use the power. So…do your thing, ugabugaz, I guess. You still owe me a test. :P
