I know very well this car because i've tuned it several time and drive it always. This one is fast, very good grip , but a little bit too lose in the quick succession like chicane, not nasty but you don't have margin for mistake. The sanction is time lost. I do not like the gears also, need to be more spreaded in my opinion.
But good car overall.

Thank you Praiano 👍 and perfect time no need to say how you are faster than me ;) the time talk about it self .
For the gear box ! I know very well that is my problem and i'm tying to solve this and know how to setup it for each car .
Thank you Sir .

I've obviously missed a trick. Best be stopping at the off-license on the way home then...

I don't see doc mentioning anything about speed though…so maybe it feels good to drive because he left it in 5th all the way?

I doubt it'll be faster drink-driving, but at least there'll be empty beer cans to throw at the TV..!!

Very nice car to drive , perfect balance, perhaps to much for this track. A loser rear , just a few, will be better for this time attack. But again, great car, i love it.

Thanks for that. :D See! Someone knows how to appreciate balance for what it is, unlike someone here! (I'm kidding about that, by the way)

I thought I left enough slip for it in the lower gears, to be honest. But then again, I find my tolerances for oversteer to have gone quite a bit since the MR2s…still, 1st and 2nd gear corners without short-shifting would get it sideways, so maybe that's what you're after?

I don't know what happen or if it have something to see with 2.08 update, but major part of my tunes now when i finish them have a negative rear TOE. Small or big, i feel that my cars were not supporting this kind of setting before.
Negative rear TOE + harder rear springs allow you to add pivot without accel oversteer problem out a corner.
No more lazy car, i have a new lambo adventador tune that now turn like a Lotus Elise. I'll publish it before hte end of the week.

You could just be getting better and therefore want something with a bit more turn…I guess. :P

Niku Driver, can you re-run my car? I have a feeling you jumped the gun and I was still tinkering with my tune when you tested it, so you didn't drive the final finished tune. Thanks.

Well, if you want, I'll rerun the 3 test laps and see if I can get a better time. Don't sweat it. :)

A bit of time to spare at work today, here are the handful I've run so far.

Hey everbody, my Powerboard is almost complete. 3 more cars have gone through the paces in the Cape Ring, and only ugabugaz's Citroen is left. 👍 And Cykosis, you might want to watch this space, because something very bad happened to your car... :mischievous:

I see why you left it for last though

This is the perfect time attack car. On the edge , first a perfect balance then after unbalanced by a low rear downforce value. 40/40 if i remember. This give the car a perfect rotation, principally in the high speed turn where it pass wanting much more than this.... Congrats, i love to go fast ,i love the yellow citroen.

First contact with this car i was 2:40.xxx above. Oversteer under strong braking, in chicanes , mid turn....
After 3 laps scratching my head i've taken the smooth way of counter steer ,light input , in the car's rhythm following the tempo.
If you try to be more agressive the sanction come immediately. This is my best of 8 laps, perhaps can do better but i think not so much.
It's not a time attack car, not an easy car too, but it's a great machine to pilot with good reactions at the wheel.
Congrats Mr krenkme. Have a good trip along the roads with your truck.

This car is a monster of understeer. You spend your time waiting it to reach the apex. This understeer is under brake , mid and out corner, always present.
Looking at the settings, most of the things to make it turn were done... But the car don't want to.
Some extreme settings can perhaps let this a few better but not enough.
It's better transform it in a submarine or flying saucer ....
Very courageous choice for a tuner , congratulation for your courage.

The slight but persistent under-steer and the bad brakes dominate this cars style.
Turn-in is responsive but my accuracy is low. Trail-braking does help rotation but the lack of the ability to get on the throttle early hurts this cars times.
Mid-corner is a weak point for this car. In a slalom or a corner with a small mid-corner the car is OK, but the under-steer makes the transition from brake-rotation to throttle-rotation burdensome.
Corner exit is fine. By this point the throttle has pushed through the under-steer into neutral or almost over-steer.
The braking distance is long. Braking from high speed produces excessive under-steer. Trail-braking is good and productive. Slip trail-braking is fun, fairly easy and productive.
The gearing is OK. Every gear is useful and closely spaced enough to let me play 'choose your torque,' to a small degree.

This is what comes of me not being able to drive the car really, I always knew there was going to be understeer, but I didn't know the extent of the problem, and it turns out I didn't go far enough with my measures. Ahh well, you can't win 'em all.

Apologies for double post.

Thanks for testing the car. I wish I could tell you more about it, but I have yet to drive it in this config. It was set up to be a 400pp time trial car for Laguna Seca so I am very happy with the times it is getting, and I hope it wasn't too bad at this track :nervous:

Thanks also for your saying about my trip. I am on the return road home, so if I make it to round two (and I make it home in time) I hope to improve it.

Thanks again

Praiano, there's no point sending an FR to me, my PS3 is dead remember.

That's my mistake, should have noted that at the front. I'll do that now.

Oh fun! :banghead: Why is it so hard for these kids to not get banned from places? It's rampant and totally avoidable. Anyway...

I suppose I can build and break in a copy of the black mask for anyone that isn't on his PSN. Give me a few hours and I will have it up. If he qualifies for round two and is still banned I'll drop him.

When you don't have even a bicycle like me, you don't hate any car, trust me. Fake or not....:)
On the other way it's very good for the calf muscle. Not so bad...:)👍
The M3 has just twice as much grip as the concept, but yeah.

CyKosis1973 | BMW Concept 1 Series tii '07 2'45.175 L1 6/10
I couldn't get the car where I wanted it because of the understeer. Laps 2 and 3 were slower than the first because of this and I had the front tyres glowing red more than the rears on the indicator.

NEWDRIVER2 | Acura HSC Concept '04 2'42.091 L3 9/10
The Acura is really fun to drive but the landings can be dangerous, the car shot right when it touched down on lap 2. I think C3PO would like his paint job back though.

trackripper123 | Mistubishi HSR-II Concept '89 2'44.624 L3 7.5/10
The car felt quick and handled the corners well, but I had to brake earlier than the other 2 cars I've tested up to this point. I'm sure I could go a bit quicker if I could back it in under braking.

Onboy123 | Dodge Viper GTS-R Concept '00 2.42.091 L3 8.5/10
This car is fast but I couldn't get the most out of it with just 3 laps. I was expecting it to try and kill me in every corner but it drove like it was on rails, the only downside is the gearing, I didn't like shifting down into 1st for the slowest corners.

XDesperado67 | Audi Nuvolari Quattro '03 2'43.108 L1 7.5/10
The Audi handled nicely but the power understeer killed on corner exit and I think 2nd and 3rd could do with a few more rpm's. Landing the jumps I felt like car would end up like the buried Cadillacs in Texas, the landing on lap 3 ruined that lap.

krenkme | Suzuki GSX-R/4 Concept '01 2'40.932 L2 9.5/10
I love this car, it feels like it's gonna kill you but it doesn't and it just wants to keep going faster and faster. I was on for a 2'39.xxx on lap 3 but I got caught out by the curb going into the right hander at the unused pit lane and spun out.

MotorCityHami | Honda NSX-R Concept '01 2'41.473 L2 8/10
Even though this is a quick car I don't think it knows what it wants to do in a corner. I had understeer and oversteer all at the same time in some corners and the diff is too open, I had the inside tyre smoking before the outside. The suspension feels soft at times but the handling is sharp, this is a confusing car.

Theo777 | Infiniti FX-45 Concept 2'44.023 L3 7.5/10
For an SUV it wasn't too bad, I would of liked a little oversteer to help in the corners though. I did run 2'43.467 on lap 2 but the lap went red on a corner I cut after the loop.

ACSR421 | Lamborghini Miura P400 Bertone Prototype CN.0706 '67 2'44.678 L1 7/10
The Miura had too much understeer for my liking and it wasn't easy getting it to go where I wanted it to.

Ridox2JZGTE | Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z Concept '88 2'49.288 L2 6.5/10
This was your typical muscle car. It felt heavy and understeered but the brakes were good and they let me back it in on a few corners. The diff could of done with more locking, I had the inside tyre smoking more than the outside and I never got it out of 4th on the main straight.

Diogo | Nissan GT-R Black Mask 2'41.592 L3 8.5/10
Fast and safe but unexciting to drive due to the exhaust note.

nomis3613 | Suzuki GSX-R/4 Concept '01 2'41.492 L1 9/10
This car wasn't as sharp as the other but it was safe, I managed a few 4 wheel drifts with it and if I hadn't cut a corner on lap 3 it would of been faster with a 2'40.438.

dr_slump | BMW Concept 1 Series tii '07 2'43.680 L3 7.5/10
This BMW wasn't a chore to drive like the other one was, but it still understeered a bit in the corners. I had the rears billowing smoke out of some corners which probably slowed me down a bit but I was having fun driving this car.

LineR32 | Audi Pikes Peak Quattro 2'44.568 L1 6/10
Tested with my alternate account to show what it can do.

ugabugaz | Citroën GT by Citroën Road Car '09 2'41.402 L3 8/10
This car feels great but it tried killing me on the crest of the right hander just after the spiral on laps 1 and 2, which made me slow down in that section on lap 3.

Praiano | Nissan GT-R Concept (Tokyo Motor Show 2001) 2'41.011 L2 8/10
There's a bit of understeer when braking but that can be sorted with brake adjustment, other than that little niggle it's a good tune.

Well, my Powerboard is now complete! :D But that is not all. I've now started something called the Driver's Log, where I'll share my thoughts about all the cars in the event. So stay tuned, and check out the Powerboard for both times and opinions of your rides!

Meanwhile, this one is for Cykosis. It's a story I like to call:

The day I modified Cykosis's BMW by being silly

One day, I had to test this BMW. Its owner was not happy about the car, saying "It's 🤬, drives like 🤬, and of top of all, it's worth jack:censored:!" He told me I could do whatever the damm hell I wanted to do with the car, and he even promised me a big prize if I crashed it! But I'm no demolition racer, I was just a test driver. No way I was going to crash for fun and profit.

CapeRing.jpg

So, I started the test. Since I was driving a BMW, I got fond memories of when I watched BTCC on Youtube. Therefore, I thought I was a touring car driver. And to top it all off, I thought I was Jason Plato!

CapeRing_1.jpg

So therefore, I attempted Jason Plato-style braking. But my memories were a bit vague, and I didn't remember how do you brake like Plato.

CapeRing_2.jpg

But then I remembered: "Ah, to brake like Jason Plato, you need another car in front of you to serve as the brake itself! Bah gawd, I'm so stu... Where's the corner?"

CapeRing_3.jpg

And then: Bang ding bum Brock Lesnar auch pillar! I thought I heard something crunch.

CapeRing_4.jpg

And that's how I modified a tuned BMW. I'm pretty sure that the new front end might not be very aerodynamic...

The end! :dopey:

7-nomis3613 | Suzuki GSX-R/4 Concept '01 : 2:36.173
I remember this feeling in the Nurburgring 400pp shootout. This Suzuki react exactly like the same nomis3613 MR2. A pilot car, perfectly balanced over soft dampers and ARB. A big camber to contain the grip during the "roll".That's it.
Perfect drive till you stay inside the max grip parameters. If you pass above the tires ,the sanction come. Spin out.
5 laps to feel the car + 10 searching the perfect lap, driving to my limit. Better not use all the braking power, only 3/4 are enough staying on your driving line perfectly.
To do a better time needed more luck in the fast chicane after the long right. With a stiffer car it's easiest to place there. But, it's only one point of the track. You can't build a car just for this.
My conclusion, perfect car, sharp, a little too soft for my style but i had a great pleasure driving it.
Congratulations.

The last time I checked, Nomis hasn't been quite ballsy enough to tune an MR2 yet, leave alone one for the 400PP shootout which he didn't even take part in. :P
