Used the Sauber for Spa then the dlc Jag XJR9 for the rest - had to make tranny and suspension adjustments going between Tsukuba and Sarthe!!! The Jag is more stable but the Sauber is quicker.

I agree about the Jag', very easy to drive fast, although I prefer the Bentley Speed 8 for fast and stable. The Sauber is very fast with a high turbo fitted I'm getting 1013bhp!

For Spa I'm using the same Sauber with the final drive dropped slightly, rear downforce reduced to 75 and front at maximum, I had to reduce the rear brake to 6 to allow for the reduced downforce, leaving the front at 9. So far I got a very untidy second place but with 5 tidy laps I'm sure it can win. If I fail with the Sauber I think I'll go to the Bentley.

anybody else also had trouble accelerating with tc turned off?

i know theres a lot of tuning garages, but anyone wanna recommend one for LMP tuned at full power.

personally i felt this se was pretty easy, with the escudo twin ring, tsukuba and indy were a piece of cake. with the minolta sarth was really easy, but spa gave me some trouble with the penalties and that neck breaking spin shaking acceleration of the minolta. i beat it easily once i did it without penalties and without spinning, the without spinning was the hardest part imo (especially on ds3) so i highly recommend a tune. you could always turn the tc on, but losing potential speed made me feel dirty and i couldn't do it, lol.

anyway my next mission is to save all the max set ups for the LMP so ill have access whenever i want to without resorting to tc or srf.

p.s. who do you guys think has some of the better tunes for max power LMP cars?

Play around with your initial acceleration & torque diff settings.

Praiano has some awesome LMP tunes, but so do others. Look here.

LOVE the penalties on La Sarthe.

Here are lap times needed:

LeMans - 3:30

Indy - 1:25.1 F1 race lap times were about 1:17s.

Tsukuba - 49.8. Real record this track is 51.9 in Arta NSX, this track is a little to small for 700+ pp cars

Motegi - 1:46.8 May be quicker required, I had an odd race, the Toyota 7 in 2nd place somehow kept all the other AI behind, there was a close pack conga line of AI at the end, never saw that before.

Spa - 2:07.5 - only about 29,500 were faster than this in TT31 back in March 2012.

These are all tough races , SRF or not.

Thanks! I've tried quite a few cars on Le Mans, 4th is the best I think so far. I've beaten Tskuba and Indy easily, over a lap clear at the end, so it's not my driving ability, I don't think. Even with the Minolta, I keep losing major seconds on the straights, even when I'm flat out. In order to lose that much time in the gap, the rabbits would have to be on the straight behind me, but they aren't. I run clean laps, no penalties so it's not that. I'll give these times a go and try the Sauber, maybe I will get lucky.

Wow! After coming 3rd with the Minolta Toyota 88C-V and the Jaguar XJR-9 I swapped to the Sauber Mercedes C-9 and won easily with a best lap of 3 23.727. I changed the oil and fitted the High Turbo to the Sauber and performed the tranny trick setting top right top speed to 270mph with the final gear then closed up the gears slightly to get optimal gear changes with the top gear lifted slightly as the last gear going up was coming in a little too high in the rev range to give the best acceleration.
LSD was 6-24-30.
Bottom right top speed to 149.
1st 2.663, 2nd 1.785, 3rd 1.270, 4th to 0.960 and 5th to 0.769.
Final gear was 3.252 and the gearing was spot on, using 1st in the slowest corners and just touching the limiter on the first part of the Mulsanne straight as, on lap 3, I passed a Minolta Toyota 88C-V for the lead just before my braking point.
Front and rear aero was set to maximum.
I changed camber to 1.6 front and 1.2 rear. No other changes to suspension.
Brake were at 9 front and 7 rear, which enables the car to brake hard in a curve without locking up or spinning the car.
Traction was set to 1 and ABS to 1, Active Steering and ASM were left off.

The car handles beautifully and is a joy to drive with my DFGT.

Even with my incurring three penalties for running wide and a spin in the complex at the start of lap one, while trying for tenth place, the car is well capable of winning this race. Great fun and I'm really looking forward to SPA next, I'm leaving the dreaded Tuskuba until last.

What pp did You have with the Sauber on Le Sarthe??? I tried last night, with 710pp, but haven`t won on Sarthe yet...I will try again tonight, with a little trac control like You I think...By the way, I use a standard sixaxis contoller....A little difficultto control the LMP/Grp C racecars with only a controller, but thats the challenge for me....

For Tsukuba and Indy I used a 650pp BMW Mclaren F1 GTR Race car. Using this will get you a good payout close to 2mil credits. I couldn't used the BMW for the rest, I was getting slaughtered on the straights, so I switched to a 724pp Pescarolo C60 Hybride- Judd Race Car '05. All the extras, but just stock settings for trans & suspension. To get over the traction problem I just dropped the accel sens to around 20.

Depends on the rabbits. I just did 3.30 and placed 2nd by about 1 second. Grrrr! (But your times give us a guide anyway, something to shoot for.)

Thanks! This worked very well for me. It was Sauber against Sauber and I won by 1.5 seconds with a five second penalty when I rammed a guy I was trying to pass. This is the ONLY tune that I've ever used where the tranny numbers matched perfectly. Adding the turbo helped a lot, by the way. On high speed tracks (Daytona and Le Mans) and the short ones (Tsubuka and Eifel, for example) tranny settings mean just about everything. I think that anyone who is just starting out should play around with the settings to get an idea of what works and what doesn't.
Thanks again!
Edit: Worked well for Spa too. Just changed top speed (final drive) to about 235 and won by ten seconds or so, some good laps at 2:05 too. Clean run, thank goodness. Again, Sauber against Sauber. If I'd left off the high turbo it might have been faster. Lots of low to middle revs on the course.

These are fantastic! I'm actually enjoying these. Just did a couple of trys on Le Sarthe with the Speed 8. Can manage 2nd pretty well. First is hard though. I keep getting penalizing though. (Which I'm honestly fine with, because it shows me I'm doing something wrong) Going to try the Toyota Minolta. :)

I recommend the pescarolo because I passed the Minolta at my 2nd try after a few adjustments with the suspension and brakes.even with one 5 second penalty

If you guys want a real challenge, run a stock R390 GT1 with Praianos tune for gears and suspension. La Sarthe is possible once you trim the aero down some. I was running consistent 3:31s and won against Sauber and C60 Hybride. Very fun seasonal thus far, minus the penalties. I have no issues with the penalties as I try to stick to racing line, but occasionally I do run wide on accident. The inside, fair enough, but the outside, a bit ridiculous to me. I wouldnt have an issue with the contact penalty either, except the AI hugs the line and stops the moment you come up behind them. *rant over*

ki dont remember my times exactly, bit iirc the tsukuba can be done faster in a escudo and i was doing spa in 2.03 in a minolta. again not sue, i remember these times but its been a couple days.

thanx fr the tp jaywalker.

I thought that running a 550 PP Chaparral 2J at Indianapolis will get me bucketloads of money (200 PP difference, for God's sake!) but boy, was I wrong. 2.8 million credits is way less than I expected.

You're more than welcome. I found the car under-steered too much for me at Spa and ended up softening the front compression and rear rebound dampers to 6 and the front roll bar to 4. With those changes I could up the rear downforce to 85 and I also changed the final drive ratio down to around 246 IIRC then Spa was a breeze.

This was a good seasonal event, I enjoyed it a lot. I took first place on each race during the fourth lap, most times, except from Spa. That was my favourite race as it came down to the very end. I was up against the Sauber C9 and after an off coming up through Eau Rouge I had dropped back down to 2nd place. There was just under 3 seconds between us after the straight and I pushed on as hard as I could.

I caught up during the final few bends and at the Bus Stop we were side-by-side. I took the win by about half a second as we raced to the line. It was great racing. 👍

Car Used - Audi R8 Race Car (Playstation ORECA '05)
PP - 695/750
Tuning - None

Because I had over 50 less PP than recommended I was rewarded with plenty of extra credits and experience. I was averaging 1.5 - 1.8 million credits per race and about 150,000 experience.

I had some fun after watching NASCAR this afternoon. Tried one on Tsubuka and managed 6th. Nice pay day for 6th, that's for sure. On a side note, I thought you got won a car for getting level 40. All I got was a measly 'excellent driver' trophy. I'll do some searching to find out but I thought I'd get a Red Bull racer or something.

Here is a list of prize cars won for each event.

Unfortunately, I won another Escudo...that makes three now! I wish there was a way to prevent getting the same car from a ticket...

Me too!! Why don't they just let you choose a LVL 23 car instead of randomly picking one for you?

So I decided not to use the Chaparel 2J and instead used the Sauber C9 race car for the first 2 races and then my forgotten Mazda 787B race car for the last 3.
The races were quite, I dropped the PP to 700PP for most race and still won comfortably. My reward for not using the Chaparel 2J was to win another Chaparel 2J with the ticket:dopey:. Lifes good sometimes:)

Mostly I love this seasonal because due to regional issues I cannot download any of the DLC's and so this is the first time that SPa and Motegi are available to me in a decent PP rated car for hotlapping or just racing. I absolutely love the Spa track except for the quick uphill chicane when I go in too hot and incur a time penalty.

All in all a great seasonal with decent prize money too. Will give it another go tonight with maybe 680PP or so.

I guess I was lucky. I got a 2J! I used a 905 for Tsukuba with the Toyota 7 as the rabbit. I think it is very easy to win with the Toyata 7 at the helm. For the rest, I used an Audi 8 Play Station Team maxed at 718 pp. No problems if you race smoothly and cleanly.

Had a little fun in a Bugatti at La Mans (forth) and a SLK McLaren at Motegi (fifth). I know I can do better (maybe first :nervous: ), but it was very fun :dopey:

This is a great seasonal. Been trying out all the LMP class cars - stock (except for tranny & suspension), ABS 0 TC 0 & cockpit view - total fun and the credits are good too! Fave race is the Sarthe with the Mazda 787B:tup:

Full aero and the High charger gave me around 723pp?? and 1023bhp. I really like that car, which is why I chose it. Once I've won Tsukuba with the C-9 I'm going to try the BMW V12 LMP. Another car that is really fun to drive!
