Announcing the October Lineup for S.N.A.I.L. SPEC Racing​

The Drivers List has been updated with Promotions for the month of October.

We're contracting to 4 Divisions this month, primarily due to the fact we're playing a game that's over two years old. Be that as it may, to all the S.N.A.I.L.s that come out to play week after week, Thank You! Just look at all the One Year trophies on our drivers list :D

There's no clear cut formula for getting promoted or relegated. We take into account a number of factors to determine candidates for promotion and relegation. Once we've identified the drivers, we analyze the data at our disposal and make sure the people being moved fit into the Division they're being moved to. Then we pull the trigger :dopey:

Some of the criteria for being ELIGIBLE to be promoted or relegated are:

1. Points for the month
2. How many drivers are in each division.
3. Race pace
4. Individual Lap Times
5. How you compare to other racers in your division and the division you're a candidate for.
6. Number of times you've raced that month.
7. How cleanly you've raced this past month.

Why do we do this?

1. To get you involved in races you will be racing in, not just putting in laps.
2. To incent you to improve your driving and racecraft.
3. To give you something to strive for.
4. To make it possible for you to have fun playing GT5.

We want you to be in good, close, clean racing 👍

N.B. If you were promoted and don't have access to the lounge you're assigned to for the October season, please send a PSN Friend Request to the appropriate SNAIL_DivisionX account. If for some reason your Friend Request is not accepted, let us know by posting on the thread!

I've just sent a friend request to everyone who's changed divisions for October season (if they didn't have access to the new division's lounge already). Please let us know if I somehow missed you and you still don't have access to your new division. I drift tooooo many cars to put on here a couple that I usually drift are my VW golf VI R '10, Maserati GranTurismo S '08(always nice to drift a boat!), and my Audi TTS Coupe '09!

Edit: totally forgot about my BMW Z4 M Coupe '08!

I havent set up an awd for drift since I first started. A couple of touge tunes, but the balance is a little different then a drift tune. I may have a go at one of those.
What "speed" do you guys typically drift? I can transition between both fast and slow drifting fairly well, just a swap of the car. Though I do tend to enjoy slower drifts.

Hey guys,

It's been ages since I actually ran some practice laps for a SNAIL race. I ran for about 20 minutes with the 430 Scud at high speed ring. I ran a 1:08.3 and think I could get just under 1:08 with a good lap. I checked the spreadsheet for lap times but those are potentially with a draft so does anyone have lap times without a draft that they would share so I can see how I am comparing?

Yea I noticed I was at 1000 the other day. Not bad for someone that only raced in 6 full weeks of SNAIL. Oh well I either talk a lot or I need to start racing again. Maybe when GT6 comes out:)

Thanks for the lap time guys. Looks like I need a bit more practice. I will target 1:07.5. Maybe breaking the car in for that extra 5PP will help:sly:
 
Hey everyone, just a heads up. it appears that GTP will be updating sometime tomorrow. For everyone that has complicated tags and dont want to rebuild them, my be a good idea to copy them to a notepad document.

Okay, I've got this setup to give you and joby one $hell for every banner you guys post. Here's my request list:
  • RESULTS
  • MARKETPLACE
  • TEAM S.N.A.I.L.
  • OLR RULES
  • PENALTY SYSTEM
  • LINEUP
  • CHAMPIONS
When claiming your $hells, simply reference the same post number multiple times in order to get full credit. For example, if you post three banners in one post, simply reference that post number three times (once for each of your three form submissions). Thanks in advance! :)

Hey DriftinAssassin, is there any way to transfer this video over to the S.N.A.I.L. channel? If it'd be too much of a pain, don't worry about it. Just curious if there was an easy way to do that because I'd like all the videos to be together if possible. :)

As per Jordan over here, it looks like the new site migration will be, delayed some.

The pre-launch tests (essentially, "dress rehearsals") have gone very badly, so there's going to be some delays. Expect the site to go down several times while I do more of these tests before the public roll-out of the new software.

As I mentioned previously, I'll make a formal announcement when I set an official date and time.

Oh don't say that bandit. I think a lot of people were busy. I can tell there is a definite interest, we just need to be organized and prepared. There's always next week. :)

But who's to say next week that there might be another event that people might be interested in? Trust me there's nothing than me wanting to help some fellow S.N.A.I.L.s with their drifting but they would have to be here for that!... :(

I think it's like DA said, people have things to do, this was kind of on the spot, no one announced it until a couple hours ago. If we set a time for next Friday right, now i'm sure more people will join and stick around. :)

Yes and no, it was brought up yesterday, unsure of what time, but still I just want to help people if anything its an useful skill to have I know drifting has saved my a** in a couple of races one of them being Sunday...
