Hi,
Do u knw if the GT5 prologue or the upcoming full version is going to be available for the PS2? Coz if it's not, that's a damn outrage- what are the PS2 users getting as a new GT? I live by GT4, it's the only thing I play frequently on my PS2, so Sony better not dissapoint the millions of PS2 owners out there. I would've bought a PS3 just 4 the sake of GT, but I haven't got that kind of cash... I would lyk to hear from yall!!

rofl. so does that mean you expected gt3 and gt4 to be made for the ps1?

cmon you must be joking pd wants to push the boundaries of the newest playstation not sit there making games compatible with old systems.

Yes i realise ps2 is massive and has an enormous consumer base but its old tech and the point is for people to upgrade. I know it sucks ps3 costs so much but thats the price of technology and you need to get a new system. Maybe buy one when they have a few more price drops.

What you are saying is the same as someone saying because they own a NES they should make a version of the new mario to work on it because lots of people bought a nes.

Uh...no? Never? yeah....

Look man, were on the same boat as well. I haven't got a PS3 yet (but my cousin do) and I am a GT fanatic like everyone else. Just be patient okay? Don't get intimidated by the others that are playing GT5: P right now. GT5 may come out as late as 09 for all I care. Surely the PS3 price would drop down by then. Besides, they would sell PS3 with a GT5 package, which is cheaper than buying a PS3 and a copy of GT5. 👍
 
If they made it for the PS2 they couldn't make it as awesome as if they used the full power of the PS3. Simple answer is no, and adding forty question marks won't make it any more likely.
 
I'm gutted its not coming out on the Amstrad CPC464.
 
well they could downgrade it for the ps2, take the graphics down a level and maybe reduce the field to 6 cars, in car view may have to go as well, it wont be gt5 so they will have to call it...er... gt4?

is that already taken?

Tell me about it... I had just re-checked the tape player to hook up with my Timex Spectrum 48k, to be ready for GT5, and now I hear it's only for the PS3... :rolleyes:

I was thinking about the same thing not long ago. One thing I'm sure of, there will be no gt5 for ps2 because they can't fit all the effects and scenery on a simple DVD. PS2 is not good enough for gt5. However what would be cool for ps2 users, is a release of GT4 Revisited, with new tracks, driving missions and maybe some of latest car releases.

Prepare to be disappointed. PS2 is a dying platform and next gen games are not made and intended to run on that outdated hardware. I mean , you don't see the Transformer movie being release on VHS, same principle.

Besides, this game is created to be a system seller for SONY's PS3.

The PS2 is still selling strong. Its not dying yet. Just no AAA titles are no longer being made It ended with God Of War 2 and FF12. I'm sure PD could hire a team to whip up a PS2 GT game by next holiday season. The PS2 sales have been basically paying for Sony published PS3 titles. There isn't a GT for PSP either, so I don't think it has any thing to do with getting people up upgrade.
 
This question reminds me of when my dad got pissed when he found out that the Xbox wouldn't play Xbox 360 games.

Bloody hell man, thoes were the days. I mean why isn't GT5 and MGS4 being released for that. You know, I'd still have mine if they were. It's an outrage that they forced me to upgrade my computer to play games that wouldn't work on that old thing.

Seriously, how do you not know that GT5 will be on PS3, not PS2 and why do you expect it to? Every Game after GT4 has been showcased on PS3 hardwhere so I don't see PS2 getting another GT.
