To go along with my blog post, here's the poll. Did you enable the "Advanced Downloading" feature in the Network Options?
This is true. Verb tense updated accordingly. This option doesn't work yet. it will be implemented in the next firmware update.
I would think that, when it's implemented, the biggest difference would be that you will be uploading the files as well, instead of just downloading. This will reduce the bandwidth required and load on PD/Sony's servers, as you will be able to get a file from anywhere, even if PD/Sony's servers are down.yeap. Didn't notice any speed differences, all files have downloaded in decent speed.

By all means, help save Sony and PD some money on videos they've already charged you for by sharing your bandwidth!
Hmmm, wait, that didn't sound right.
I doubt I'll use it because I likely won't be downloading any GT:TV clips.
They don't want to spend there money on more servers for there online races...
I don't understand the arguments about "paying them to distribute their content", or whatever. There's no negative side effects to the Advanced Download feature. It acts just like a torrent. You buy the right to the content and then you download and upload it like you would a file through uTorrent or Azureus, etc. The only difference is that you have to pay for the program.
