In this months December 2008 'Car' magazine it shows the Citroen GT concept car and it says that it will also be in Gran Tursimo 5 itself in Spring.

So GT5 could be here alot sooner than we all think.

Does it explicitly state the year that the corresponding "Spring" is in?

I guess they're talking about spring 2013 when Citroen GT will hit the road probably, but that's just my sarcastic 2 cents.

GTPlanet News Page
Kazunori laughed at the notion of a 2010 release date for Gran Turismo 5, and said it will be released sooner than expected.

Although not explicitly, this seems to answer your question. I refuse to get my hopes up, though, especially since it's Gran Turismo. But, it definitely suggests an earlier-than-expected date.

Is it possble that you can scan it or get picture of that page where it says this so we can see it?

At least 'earlier than expected' is a good sign...

but you can't trust Gran Turimso that much, but at least they make my favourite racing game, and the best on the PS3.

But then expected by who, a lot of people are expecting it to be relased some time late 2010 or early 2011, sooner than expected could be mid 2010 for exaple. For some sooner than expected could still be as late as 2011. It's all relative to what is defined as "expected" in this comment.

I'm sure that the Citroen GT is in GT5 now, but when it'll be released to us is anyone's guess.

It's not really possible though I love the GT series. For now, GT5P IS GT5 for most of us. Give at least... say... September 2010. I'm not trying to put any hate on PD or GT, but Spring 2009 is not likely considering the slow pace of GT5. I best hope for something like this. I still haven't yet played this game nor have a PS3. So I'm in no absolute hurry to get GT5 until I'm fully ready to get it.

Spring 2009 gives hope, but it's not too likely. GT5P is GT5 until a proper GT5 is released.

Slow pace of GT5?... maybe, but we don't know really.

Sony/PD have been very tight lipped about GT5 to the point where KY acts like they are not all that interestest in it (in media interviews), then later acts suprised when a gamer interviews him and then acts like it is not that far away.

In the end we don't know whats going on, KY said suprises this time and they are playing mind games, and playing with our Voodoo dolls at the same time.

Yes but I'm referring to the recent interview with him when he laughed at the idea of a 2010 release.

But yet again like I said you can't trust Gran Turimso.

There was roughly a year between GT4:P and GT4.

GT5:P was released in December last year for Japan. I think a gap of anything more than 2 years for a Japan release of GT5 would be foolish from PDs POV. Then again, no point releasing a game that isn't finished. Lot's of conflicting reports, even from KY, apparently told IGN a 2010 release in an interview in July.

I do not think so... It's a car magazine... not game magazine. If it was in Spring, thats only about half year away, every GAME site would announce the news...

Sorry to put more freezing water on the ice..

I've been thinking about this lately, and call me naive, but I think that PD is a powerhouse when it comes to GT5. I mean, I imagine they're putting at least 10 hours a day into the game, and we know how they are with spending the night at the office sometimes and things. With all the people working on it, I'd like to think they're fairly far in the game, but just don't want to get us too hyped up by releasing info or anything.

However, a 2009 Spring release date doesn't seem to be what they have in mind. I'm thinking more of a summer release date.

Sprind 2009 sounds awfully optimistic, I personally don't think we'll see the game earlier than late 2009 and even that would be pretty soon.

None of us can possibly predict the release of GT5, any combination of Spring,Winter,Autumn, 2009,2010,2011 is speculative to say the least. It will be released when it's ready.:banghead:

How long does it take to......build........test...........correct.........test................?
Can any of you answer this ?:dunce:
Just a few unknowns in there what you reckon?

Yeah, this has happened many times before but doesn't mean much. Until i see a very very credible source give the 100%, it is all speculation.

No, he said they are concentrating on GT5P and they don't know when GT5 will come, maybe even 2010.

KY is a sly dog I tell ya.

I fully expect a mid-late Spring 2009 launch in Japan. However, it will not be as feature-rich as they and fans would have hoped. Instead, they will get the technical infrastructure around the core gameplay down-pat, and then rely on downloadable content over the months/years after launch to expand the content. That will be it I think on PS3 - no true sequel to GT5, just lots of extra content in the form of vehicles, tracks, game modes etc., and tweaks to physics and damage modelling etc. over a period of time.

I woldn't even be surprised to hear that owners of GT5P will not have to purchase the "final" copy of the game, and instead have the option to just download another big update.

Sony are no mugs when it comes to business, they will not give GT5:P owners GT5 for free. I have heared that they may get a discount but KAz has said several times GT5 will be a packaged game, it'll be far too big to be hosted as a download and Kaz has stated this.

we have no idea when its coming out, we only have clues from sources thats it... right now they are all pointing towards a 2009 release specifically in the spring-summer area.....

The only reason you guys say winter 2009 or 2010 is becuase they have a better chance at making better sales for the release except you forgot sony is pushing PD to make the release as fast as possible because right now ( fall 2008 to summer 2009) will be the highest PS3 sales, so if PD does not release the game in that timeline they will not be able to sell as many ps3's as they would....

Its guranteed that there will be a release by mid 2009 and if there is not ( which would be very unlikely ) it would be due to a huge problem within the game that hasnt been solved yet.

I'm so upset still with this GT5 thing. There is a new madden every 12 months, new call of duty every other year (all completely different), and it takes 5-6 years to get a new GT!!
