no they cant bring it 2010-2011 don´t scare us :( ,they got to hurry up,ps4 will maybe come 2011 :X and then wait again 3 years to get an GT game @the PS4... they got to bring an GT game with the PS4 launch this time...

2020 for the ps4 and March 09 for GT5. Think about it........the release of the PS3 was March 2007 which was launched with GTHD amd lets face it that was a waist of time with only one track.

But i dont want to get anyone's hopes up :)

I really hope its march 09, that rummer of christmas 09 is depressing tbh. I wish kaz would employ more people I would spend some time voluntary as would loads here im guessing for the cause, Come On KAZ get this out the door. It feels like im waiting for eternity

The GT5 will be released sometime around 2009. There is no way to go any further than that. Their latest chance is Christmas 2009. From the thing that KY has said "sooner than expected" we know isn't going to be 2010. Also you may remember that he laughed when he was asked by a guy from gtplanet that the game was coming 2010. Moreover he said the game is going to be announced from their site and its going to be very quickly in the stores from that time.

There is, delays can and do happen and have been more than common place when GT is concerned.

No, you assume it isn't going to be 2010, we don't actually know anything yet.

Yes, but we still don't know anything we can only make an assumption at this point.

Moreover he said the game is going to be announced from their site and its going to be very quickly in the stores from that time.
No he didn't, he was talking about the GT5:P updates when he said that the release would be announced on the site and then it would be available a week later. He never said that GT5's release date would only be announced close to release, that would be commercially a bad idea. He did again hint that GT5 could suprise people in that it is closer than expected, again though that is an assuption taken from the interview and not fact. But Kaz did not at any point state that GT5 would be announced from thier site and released quickly in stores from that. I can see where the misunderstand can be made with regards to what he meant.

for me gt5 will be released in 2009..
in interview he told.. sooner than expected in the question about 2010 release... he could told a bit before, but he told sooner than expected... it wants mean very earlier for me ....

I'm sure this is going to be the only GT game on the PS3, it has to come out by christmas '09, SCEJ will be pushing Polyphony to try and release it even before that. Its not only about GT anymore, PS3 is a sinking ship and if it does'nt do well in the next 3 weeks then there is a possibility that Japan might see a spring launch of GT5 which would effectively be GT5P with more cars and tracks and nothing else.

I think that the silence of Polyphony about release dates can be attributed to the strategy of SCEJ and SCEE (Major GT markets as far as I remember) which is still unclear and the fate of GT5 is tied to that strategy.

BTW I think that the PS4 will come out in 2012, Sony can't afford to be any late than that.

The PS3 is doing quite well actually, console sales don't agree with your "sinking ship" comment. I suggest you back comments up and research them, the PS3 has outsold the XB360 this year and is closing in on the XB360's total sales pretty fast despite being released a year (and over in some countries) later.

As for SCEJ forcing Kaz's hand in rushing GT5's release, that'd be odd since Kaz is an SCE executive and corporate head of PD. Bascially he can be asked to time the release and I'm sure as long as that release date is after it's done he'll comply, but it's his call to make.

As for speculating on how many GT gaems the PS3 will see and when the PS4 will come out, do you think it is wise to base an opinion on speculation that has been added to speculation?

I'm wondering how people can speculate about speculation thats been speculating already:confused:. Doesn't quite add up to me.

Bleedin ell, putting it that way would confuse anybody . You can add speculation to existing speculation though which is what I was saying. ie the speculation about GT5's release date. To validate this speculation wakas had added specualtion about the PS4 and the number of GT titles that may or may not appear on PS3 to come to his opinion of when GT5 will launch. It's speculation added to speculation and none of it is fact.

Two years in, still behind X360, selling half the number of consoles (since 360 price cuts), HOME getting bad reviews, LBP not selling well (though rated very high by critics), Sony denying reports of price cuts even for spring '09. I'd say those facts are enough to say that the situation does not look so good. I'm not saying that everything is a disaster, good games are coming out on the PS3 but the 360 is flying off the shelves after the price cuts.

As for the PS4 remark, its not just a wild guess. Its about the usual console generation lifespan. Personally I hate this generation of consoles, have a red ringed 360 out of warranty, a PS3 without GT and I just hate Wii. Even the best console in terms of hardware, the PS3 is intrinsically flawed (poor GPU design, complex CPU architecture, data bottle-necks...).

Kaz is a person with a lot of authority, but that would be of no use if there is no console to launch games on, he is responsible for decisions and consequences beyond GT, so I do believe that GT5 can be rushed if required.

Bear in mind I am not saying GT5 won't be released in 2009, I'm just stating that everything is speculation and zero fact and if it doesn't come out in 2009 anyone pooh poohing about it will need to shut up as a 2009 release is so far only coming from them and not PD.

Please show me these figures, the PS3 has outsold the 360 every month in 2008 so far. The PS3 is gathering momentum the 360 is losing it. Ofcourse both consoles have followed the economy and dipped but the PS3 is still outselling the 360. So where are you getting this notion that the PS3 is selling half as many consoles? as for HOME, it's very much a basic feature but so what if it's getting poor reviews, it's not an integral part of the PS3 system it's just one ofmany features that is there if you want to use it.

True but then a lot people in the industry seem to think that this generation of consoles (PS3 in particular) will last longer than others.

Flawed or different, because there is a big difference in the two. Some developers are using the fact it's different as an excuse for sbelow par ports, other developers that are using the PS3 are loving it.

And do you genuinely believe that the PS3 will not be around in 2 years time? Do you? Nothing suggests it will be on the decline gone by then let alone gone.

the fact that there is a rumored price cut in march, i would guess gt5 would be released with the price cut for the highest potential profit becuase the ps3 sales will all be in fall 2008 to spring 2009.. and not late 2008/ early 2010

NPD, August-November. Both consoles have'nt dipped, sales are higher compared to last year (at least for 360 and Wii).

With this kind of user base, I dont think so.

Whatever it is, PS3 owners are the losers in the end, whether it is a hardware flaw or marketing strategy/PR flaw. I'm only concerened with the final product.

And do you genuinely believe that the PS3 will not be around in 2 years time? Do you? Nothing suggests it will be on the decline gone by then let alone gone.

Keep the prices at this level and it won't be.

Maybe not in August and November, I'd have to check the figures again, but they certainly did in June and July. I wasn't referring to sales all year round.

Still spculating, no fact.

No thery arn't, just because it's different doesn't mean there arn't any great games being made for the PS3. There's plenty.

Keep the prices at this level and it won't be.
Prices drop over time nd it's usually linked to demand, the 360 is now being sold for only £135, there's a reason for that. It's because they want to sell more, they want to sell more because they are being out sold. Despite the price drop the360 is still being out sold. I repeat, the PS3 is outselling the XB360 on a month to month basis. The Wii is selling the most, but the PS3 is outselling the XB360. So, do you have and facts to back up what you are saying or are you just going to speculate some more?

By August-November, I meant August, Sept, Oct and Nov. Just notice the trend that is developing. PS3 is not outselling X360 anymore (not in the US or Europe)

Thats a big fat FACT.
