Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
  • rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • run-off areas are not part of the track
  • no contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • if you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • no hybrids
  • no cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind.We will know.
  • nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • save your best lap/ghost replay

Thread rules:

The following information cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on MSN or via other private conversation methods
):

  • lap time
  • Any information which can be used to infer laptime

The following information can be discussed in this thread
:

  • T1 and T2 times
  • Any settings discussion.

The posting of settings is encouraged, but it's certainly not mandatory. We respect anyone wishing not to post settings, so please do not publicly ask someone to post their settings, they will if they want to.
It is however expected for splits to be posted if you're taking part.

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 09 Submission ) to (Sphinx):

  • you can submit only once
  • please include in your submission PM your division, GTP_Tag and final lap time
  • the deadline is Monday 5 January 11.59pm GMT
  • if you are unsure of the deadline try this site

Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Time verification:

Save your ghost replay and keep it at least a full two weeks after the event's deadline:

  • Racers ,named by the OLR Admin staff, (if any) will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • when a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide the correct replay within seven days of the request
  • failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from the results table
  • video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

Good luck,
Sjaak

The more laps,the more fun.

Truer words have never been spoken! :sly:

A few more tries with Week 8 tonight and I'm moving on to this one.

Its actually quite a nice to car to drive, I just ran a few laps with a really poor 2 min home made tune.

This looks great, too bad I will be away most the week but I will put some time into it today and hopefully have some splits to report.

Well all I am back in play! I got a PS3 for Christmas from the gf. Total surprise. Work has been crazy and I had to drop out of the SGT and would only have time for WRS. See you all back in about two weeks when I get all the races worked out.

Yes, this is definitely an enjoyable combo.

I ran a few laps with my default tune then made some changes to the tire compound and gearing. The changes allowed me to jump ahead of the ghost nicely.

Power +5
Weight 99
Tires S1 S2
RH -15 -15
Rate 4 4
Damper 4 4
Camber 0.5 1.0
Angle 30
TC 1
Final 4.355

T1: 1'00.898
T2: 1'51.450

@ mtbiker157 ~ The PS3 is a perfect Christmas gift, glad to see you here!

Good one Mods! 👍
Suzuka 550 PP is a popular event, so I'm thinking everyone is getting lot's of lap time in and the competition will be intense.
One thing I have noticed though, the weight will default back to 100 when you exit "online" and won't warn you if your PP is over 550 in free run.
Good Luck and have fun.:)

Sweet combo and nice challenge to master the oversteery Honda supercar thru the twitchy and treacherous (?) Suzuka. Again a question of character to jump in the new combo early on Sunday OR try & improve on the old one :)

This combo might even be a prelude to the next online GTP event as the switch towards the actual online race is just a click away .

[off-topic]Isn't anyone also like me disappointed that PD didn't surprise us with an appropriate Christmas gift in the form of a nice little update? :ouch: [/off-topic]

It is a great combo for sure, thats a good point you make about making the next week a race online in the NSX, that would be great. As for dissapointed with no update. Im really enjoying the new events they gave us. 👍

My splits with s3/s3

1'00.945
1'51.851

I am online for the past 4 days with the 550PP NSX and after 2 laps I beat my race laptime already.

Despite the boost or RubberBand is gone there is a difference between Online and free run.

Absolutely, I found that out with the Clio yesterday. There was a lot more slip in the car in the race as opposed to my testing in free run. PD needs to straighten that out.

Nice challenging one 👍 Looking forward to try tame this Honda.. :scared:

First try times:

First go with my brand new xmas G25.... which is every bit as good as everybody says it is and smells like a new pair of shoes. :) Still practising with it but already showing improvement over the old DF EX.

T1: 1'01.160
T2: 1'52.597

Love the NSX, great fun. :)

This combination of an almost standard NSX on S3's at Suzuka is pretty much perfection as far as I'm concerned. It's such a joyous car to drive - so incredibly well balanced... I could run laps in this all day long 👍

59.448
1'50.116

Nice lap overall, just slightly spoiled by some oversteer coming out of the hairpin otherwise would have been in the 49's.

Oh man I'm loving this G25... its still not gonna turn me into a virtual Senna but its a joy to use. Still practising but some improvement:

T1: 1'00.579
T2: 1'51.822

I'll let the cramp ease a bit and have another bash later :)

Where did you get your G25 from, Vagabond?

Father Christmas of course.

One thing I have noticed though, the weight will default back to 100 when you exit "online" and won't warn you if your PP is over 550 in free run.

Good point, I think it might be a good idea to add this info to the 1st page.

Well, Father Christmas delivered to me via Microdirect in Manchester and I had to pick it up from there.. and pay for it. :) But I couldn't be happier with it, its as good as the hype.

Another improvement:

T1: 1'00.393
T2: 1'51.264

If anyone fancies giving it a try, here's my tune. It seems to work for me but that's no guarantee of anything :)

Power: 291 0
Weight: 1358 107
Tyres: S3 S3
Height: -24 -24
Springs: 8 8
Damper: 6 6
Toe: -0.27 0.18
Camber: 2.7 1.8
Brakes: 5 5
Turn angle: 50
TCS: Off
ABS: 1

1st: 3.066
2nd: 1.956
3rd: 1.428
4th: 1.135
5th: 0.936
6th: 0.795

Final: 4.663

I'm going to take a break from playing GT4 (for the first time!) to give this a try, with my new G25 that I got for Christmas. The NSX was one of the first MR cars I tried to drive on Pro physics, in the "S" events. I remember trying to master lift-off oversteer for the first time!:nervous:...frustrating at first, but felt great when I got the hang of it.
