Gran Turismo 5 featured in Official PlayStation Magazine UK: Failure

Today those who subscribe to the UK Official PlayStation Magazine got their new August issue. In the issue before, the 'Next Month' page was full up with Gran Turismo 5, and stated that the full story will be revealed. What were they on?

This full story is, like the French magazine, everything we have seen at E3: pictures taken out of the trailer: and they've put information about these pictures into 2 small paragraphs, unlike the French one which at least had more than a page, well, actually, more than 2 small paragraphs!!:scared:

So as you can imagine, this long-awaited issue claiming to have the full story about Gran Turismo 5 has been hype and nothing else. Dissapointing to say the least.

I guess for the people who don't use the internet to find game news (as we all know you really have to ignore the amount of rubbish that is written to find anything trustworthy ) its probably quite interesting news for some people who wouldn't even know there was such a thing as E3, I mean I have only been using the net to get game news since i got my Ps3 before that when i had my Ps2 and Ps1 I never thought to check on the net, just got the magazine and a free demo disc

Even though they lied on their content just to get more buyers.They didn't revealed everything about GT5 like it was written on the cover (OPM France: everything about the most awaited racing game: Cars, events, damage). Well I didn't see anything of that. This is straight bull:censored:.
 
When did people start thinking OPM was a good magazine? The only reason it was ever good was that it came with demos and today that point is moot. The only magazines I get are Edge and GamesTM though I disagree with Edges view on racing games entirely.
 
I stopped buying Playstation Magazines shortly after GT4 was released, The magazines just turnt into dribble with rubbish articles and poorly written descriptions about this years upcoming games. Theres no point in spending £5.99 for a Blu Ray Demo that has exactly the same stuff every month. Anyways very disapointed with OPM cant beleive the French Issue had alot more information with at least 2 Pages!

In the old days gaming mags made sense, especially for the demo disks. Now most people have broadband and there are tons of gaming sites which provide instant information. There is no way mags can reveal anything particularly shocking unless its exclusive (would probably get leaked on the web anyway).

To say they had the 'full story' is just pathetic. I guess this is why they wrap them in plastic bag so you have to buy it before you find out there is nothing new inside!

This wouldnt really be a problem if PD where better in the PR dept, They really are the only dev who holds back info for years. As a result we cling to every tiny piece of info we get and often end up dissapointed. If you look at other dev's they release new info and screenshots on a weekly or monthly basis.

Having said all this GT still sells millions and millions, but it would be nice to hear more regular updates from them.

You know, I'm growing tired of the excessive lack of information or, at the very least a simple morsel of information other than a teaser video that essentially says "Look what I have." and "Look what I can do."

Say what you will about my following comment, or Forza in general but at least their community isn't left in the dark until they feel it's appropriate, and you're going to smite me for complaining or whatever, simply put, you're damn right I'm complaining.

I wish I could give you a scan to show you how bloody minute the article is, and that it has NO NEW INFORMATION AT ALL. Also, they've only just found out about the rumoured Christmas release!

Nah I am 99% sure we will get "something" at TGS. I do not care if it is not a release date and only a trailer but I am sure GT5 will make some sort of appearance at TGS. If I were to put my money on one thing it would be a playable show floor demo.
 
I'm pretty sure the US "Playstation The Official Magazine" (PTOM) won't make the same mistake the other mags did. If they are going to tell readers what was at E3, then great! Making claims to give us "the whole story" and not delivering is intolerable.
 
I have given up on waiting for gaming magazines to give new details about the game. I will be on the same boat as other with the new details and release date on TGS.
 
I'm not getting my hopes up until the game is in my PS3 and I'm playing it.
BTW 🤬 the gaming magazines. They are useless when you have an internet connection.
 
TGS,oh very nice the, next date to wait... 2 1/2 months to go... and then get some intro or whatever... if we have luck...

But oh wait, maybe we get something on E3 2010... cross fingers...

Apparently no one's post is going to get us "infos" no matter how positive or negative other than what we can sample off of the internet.
 
But i find these constant, almost trolling, pretty annoying, if you dont have something to contribute to a discussion, dont discuss.

Almost all posts from him are moaning about how we dont get any infos, like we dont know that we dont have new infos.

You have no memory.

You don't recall all the complaining about the lack of word on FM3 over a year, after little meaningless leaks came out. Of people groaning about more than a year of Pitpass Reports that read like this:

"Just hold onto your seatbelts guys. When we get the word, we'll give you the lowdown on our Next Big Thing."

"I wish we could invite you guys into the office so you could see the Next Big Thing we're burning midnite oil over. But let me say you'll go crazy over the helicopter races."

"Just wanted to let you know we aren't slacking here on the Next Big Thing. The water effects on these boat races are the most amazing you'll ever see."

Yeah, whatever dude. :lol:

You're actually comparing the better part of a year-plus in the dark to this crap? :odd:

And even if there is a point to be made from that, which would Prologue in this respect, there's still the aspect of communication. At the very least.
